as a person who chose to ignore all the warnings about mixing the wrong pets together... let me say this @punkin I feel for you, but I had to live with the consequences of my (bad) choice for too many years. lesson learned. Maybe you could ask the rescue to match you with a dog that's known to be cat friendly,etc. I now have greater respect for these sorts of guidelines for animals. Things are calmer around here now as our menagerie aged out.... but it was chaotic for way too long. A lot of places match characteristics vs. breed of dog...

I'm not a fan of needles--long ones especially--but I didn't even think about it at the time. I was actually laughing and joking with my doctor during my second labor (telling him I was sorry he had to miss his golf game on Saturday, etc).
