I saw people say DVC rental places wont refund even though WDW is closed- thats awful. I’m sure the owners can get their points reinstated.
@LuckyMamaInDE I saw people saying disney is just putting points back with no holding. I hope they can help you! I’m so sorry about your trip! People on dcl board are finding out their cruise is cancelled from Disboards- crazy!

My mid-May trip is a private transaction DVC rental. I'm hoping the parks are reopened by then, I would go do a resort only trip if the Beach Club is open.

Thanks---I'm going to call DVC tomorrow morning while dh is in a meeting with clients.

Does anyone know what happens with tickets? They're already assigned to people in MDE.

I had to drive the entire way down, because dh was dealing with the market meltdown (he's a CFP). He was working with his laptop, iPad, and phone! I'll have to drive all of tomorrow after his meetings, but he's going to drive the rest of the way on Saturday.

Just decided to pull the plug on a guys weekend in Tampa that departs tomorrow morning at 6:30!!

This was a United flight that was booked through a Sapphire Reserve in the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal. Is the only way to cancel this by calling Chase Travel? I'm on hold with them now for 30 minutes now. Is there another way to get these points back?

Just got back from what is now the kids' last rehearsal. WGAZ canceled all remaining events including the one we had scheduled for Saturday.

Sad and scary times ahead.

I wonder if I should be worried about empty grocery stores, now. Great.

Hopefully local restaurants can still get their food supplies so we can eat while helping someone stay in business... right??

Not gonna lie I've been stocking up the last few days on paper goods and groceries. I've spent close to $500 and I still don't feel like we'd have enough food for a prolonged period. It goes fast with 5 of us in the house. My DS21 had his college classes suspended until April. And then will go to online only. I hope it all works out, he graduates in May. For now our DS8 and DD6's elementary is staying open, but they're on spring break as of today through next week.

I'm worried about our end of May trip to WDW, but am hopeful thing will be much better by then. I went ahead and booked a cash reservation at CBR for the end of June at Disney as a backup, although our AP's would be expired by then. I'm hoping Disney would be willing to extend them if May doesn't work out. Not sure what would happen with our DVC points though, I borrowed most of my 2021 points for our May BCV stay.

So much uncertainty and bad news in the past 24 hours. I am super bummed about the NCAA tournament being cancelled. I look forward to it all year. Not to mention my team (KU) was going to be the overall #1 seed and had a great chance to win it all. I know it's not the most important thing right now, but is a major disappointment. Really just not much to be happy about today. Well, I did stock up on tp and Coke Zero so there's that...

Is it listed in the "my trips" section of the UR portal? Might be able to cancel it there.

I couldn’t even get them to put me on hold. Kept cutting me off after a minute.

Thanks. Wish it were that easy, but if you hit cancel the next page just says to call.

Air France is the same. Can't modify online, have to call. The phone number doesn't work anymore. Just a quick message and it hangs up. Local phone number is off the hook. :( I tried on Twitter and FB - the canned response to others is that if you need an agent, go to the airport and get in line. Yeah, that's great for "social distancing" isn't it?

The whole thing is scary. My 401k is scaring me a lot more. I do worry about supplies at this point, with all the hoarding. We haven't stocked up on anything, and now I fear just getting basic supplies and food to live normally is going to get very difficult.
My husband is pumped up to buy stocks when this thing bottoms out, hopefully, it goes up as fast as it came down.

I don't think this will last long. This is not the zombie apocalypse or the contagion. Costco, Sams, and Kroger are going to make a ton of money over the next couple of weeks.

Everyone has to feel like they are doing something for the cause. I’m not sure closing for two weeks really accomplished anything, but it looks good.
We’re super slow at the hospitals which is odd since March is usually are busiest month. Still haven’t seen a covid 19 patient.

Just curious--could you actually test for covid19?

That's what scares me--the reports of people showing up at doctors' offices and even ERs with all of the symptoms of a covid19 infection and being denied testing because they don't meet the testing criteria (esp. known contact with someone who has tested positive). I don't know how anyone is supposed to know how seriously to take this when we don't have mass testing. How many cases are out there?

I hope you’re right but at this point I don’t feel comfortable applying for the CSR without knowing a trip is possible. So I was looking for other card options
Nothing lasts forever. This isn't the first nasty virus or the last. It may be the most extreme response ever though. I just got approved for CIP and CIC, but I know you have those. Is it because of the high AF that you don't want to get it now?

Everyone on twitter is saying they cannot get through to Chase to cancel anything. The Chase generic response is to DM them your info and they will get back to you within 10 business days. Doesn't help if your flight is tomorrow! I DM'ed them. I'm not staying on hold all night. I'll just miss the flight and hopefully I can work out getting these points back at a later date.

No. not at this time. I may have already had it. I've had a few bad colds this year which is the main symptom. The travel ban didn't go into effect until more than a month after the outbreak. That's why I think this has already been circulating. We have only been testing people that say they have traveled to China and we have only tested two people over the last three months yet we have had numerous patients with respiratory illness and pneumonia that are negative for the flu.

If you ask any Doc I work with they are frustrated by the inability to test patients and they think all the closures and travel bans are a waste of time. If we had started testing people months ago we could have isolated people and maybe stopped the spread. Now were shutting down everything and still not testing. All were doing is destroying the economy and people's lives, and we have no idea who actually has the virus.

It's partly the AF, but also because we likely won't keep the card after a year. I haven't quite decided on that yet. I'm wondering if there's a good Amex card we could try for. We don't want to dive much deeper with Chase

If you're looking for Delta miles than Amex is the best. I would look at the travel partners for MR cards and see if that works for you.

We never fly delta so I’m not sure that will be the best option. We normally fly allegiant since they’re the cheapest to Iowa and nonstop. I mainly want an Amex card that’s good for every day spending and to help me diversify my points

Gold card and BBP is the combo I like. Gold is 4 points on dining and groceries. The BBP is 2 points on everything. BBP has no AF so it's a solid keeper card.
