Curious on opinions... I want to fly into London and out of Paris, or vice versa. I can fly direct from DEN to London but not Paris. Would you put the direct flight at the beginning or end of a trip, and why? Curious as to reasoning...

I would want the direct flight at the end, but you may want to check prices. From ATL (on Delta), the taxes/fees are usually less flying home from Paris than London on award flights.

I've noticed that of all the credit card bills I pay with Serve Chase takes the longest to post. I paid one on 1/25 and it just posted today, so five days. But one paid on 1/25 also posted today. So still shorter than your 6 days, but I think I'd give it another day or two. @platamama did have some problems with Serve bill pay she posted on Reddit recently though. I hope yours posts shortly.
I'm definitely having issues with DH's Serve. Maybe because of some reset at the beginning of the year? Serve erased all the existing payees, and I had to re-enter them.

Amex sent us the physical checks issued by Serve this month. There is no account number on the checks! Even though I have screenshots showing that I did indeed input the account numbers in the relevant fields when submitting the Serve payment. :(

And one payment I sent from DH's Serve to my Chase account...got posted to one of DH's Chase accounts. I suspect that happened since the check had his name on it (his Serve account) and probably no account number either. Again, I have a screenshot showing that I did enter the info accurately into Serve. So now I have over $1K credit on one of his Chase cards. :sad2:

I'm going to link his Serve to a bank account and transfer funds that way from now on.

My Bluebird is working fine this year however, checks are posting to the accounts I send them to.

Does anyone know how fast Hilton Business bonus hits after MSR and/or UA Explorer Bonus? (Barring some horrible months long review like no-AF Aspires got put through.)

The Hilton Biz SUB typically gets reflected on the Amex account dashboard 2-3 days after the qualifying charge that meets the MSR posts onto the statement; and the points should post to your Hilton account about a day later.

The UA Explorer SUB posts at the close of statement after MSR is met.

Basically the difference between how Amex vs Chase posts the SUB.

Yes - UK departure taxes are horrendous so you will likely want to fly home from Paris - even if you route through London it will still likely be cheaper than departing from London - but probably cheapest to avoid London completely.

Approved for Hilton Biz! I kinda hesitate to write that as Hiltons are so freaking pop-up prone and I know a number here are struggling with that but there is hope! Spend, spend, spend. My suggestion is if you can approved for a different Amex card hit the MSR quick so it looks like you're becoming a big spender and then try for a Hilton?....

Oh this hurts 😂 though I do almost wonder if it's a biz vs personal thing for me since I have no biz. But I'd rather the biz and a personal later. So I'll load my dl with lots of spend and try again.

Do we know of that dp? Once you get a hilton popup is it across biz and personal? I know it's across all personal but the biz doesn't get much discussion or I've just missed it.

And technically I could do a personal now and still be under 5/24 for my next step. I guess either way I try it I'd have two cards I need to give more love to before applying for my 3rd amex.

ETA my own dp I still got the popup on the surpass.

I recall reading some people will get a pop up on the hiton personal and then no pop on like a personal Gold Amex. Unknown why some end up getting it across the board on all cards, and others only select cards :(

I’m also curious about this for future reference. It seems like the Aspire is difficult to avoid the pop up so I’ve considered trying that card for DH since it would be his first AMEX app. Also considering trying for the Hilton Biz since I’ve been putting considerable spend on my Platinum 🤷🏼‍♀️

Haha....I decided today that if Amex doesn't want to give me the card, someone else will give me a card when I'm ready for a card. I've had a Hilton Honors account with no points in it for years, so I'm used to not having Hilton points and therefore not staying at Hiltons very often, almost never.
I guess while I have the cards and the points, I'm going to be a Marriott fangirl. That said Hyatt is my true love right now, so I will be working on building Hyatt points and getting another free night card in addition to a bonus, after I get a CIP under my belt and get those 85K points transferred into my Hyatt account.
Meanwhile I'll be staying in a lot of Marriott Hotels, but will not be consciously working to build Marriott points, just taking advantage of offers from time to time.

The problem is I can't commit to more than a 3k msr at the moment and I don't think for the number of hilton points I need there's an mr card with a good bonus. Plus I sont want to further mess up my amex plans when I know what 2 to 3 I want but need to wait til fall for one.

And maybe I just need to evaluate the other options for TDLR and not stay at the hilton though I thought that was the best off site option, thoughts? I'm not married to hilton or amex.

I edited after your post, got the popup on the surpass too. So I'd do hilton first.

Direct flight at the beginning. Reason, too many factors that can cause me to not get to my vacation. I wouldn't want a missed connection due to an unexpected flight delay or cancellation on my outbound to put a damper on my trip and have me scrambling to get on a flight to get there and eat into my vacation. That's a boatlaoad of stress that can ruin a vacation. I couldn't care less about a missed connection on the way home. A few weeks ago I flew to MCO and my flight was delayed over an hour. A couple of months before that we flew to NYC and our flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues on the plane. We had to wait a couple of hours to get on a different plane. If any of these had been flights connecting me on the long haul to Europe, I could have easily missed my flight out. Then what. No thanks, I'd rather take risks on the way home. I don't mind figuring out how on earth I'm getting home when the unexpected happens. Been there, done that. I am not risking my vacation if I can help it.

I’ve heard good things about the Sheraton too. If I were staying offsite those would be the two I’d decide between.
