I completely agree! No no and no. Marley and Me almost killed me and I've been across from people on planes watching A Dog's Purpose and The Art of Racing in the Rain and not even knowing the plots I'm sobbing. Ugh. Definitely a reason to fly in F suites . See...I made it churning related!

I guess the main question is what is his 5/24 count? And when will it change? If he is getting close to 5 are you done with Chase?

Take your iron with vitamin C. It helps absorption. Avoid calcium with it. (History of anemia both when pregnant and not).

Dh is currently 2/24, but he'll have a card drop off in July of this year (his CSR that turned into a CF). He got it 7/18. I think I'm doing this right? We haven't had to deal much with the whole 5/24 because we've mostly been doing biz cards.

I think I'll try just the iron for now only because I'm also taking Claritin and nasal spray daily. Those two were prescribed by my normal doctor because one of my ears has been popping on its own which is super annoying. She thinks it's fluid/allergy related so I'm supposed to try them for two weeks to see if it helps. I take prenatal vitamins every morning, also.

Can someone recommend a Hyatt Place in D.C... so many options. We are mostly interested in best location, we can get around without a car in DC? And which airport should we fly into? SW has a direct flight to BWI but I'm guessing that's too far away?

And I really hope Chase ups the Hyatt SUB in the next few months.

I have stayed at Hyatt Place Whitehouse, Hyatt Place National Mall and the Grand Hyatt. I liked the National Mall one the best. It is newer and a good location. We drive in so I cant help with airport, but once we get there we walk to everything. I think I did one or two reviews on the Dischurner Hotel thread.

For all you parents out there whose kids are older and you're thinking about getting rid of toys... my inexpert and personal experience suggests that Legos are definitely a good bet. Really regretting the temper tantrum I had this summer where I took bins full to Salvation Army in a fit of rage instead of spending the time to to through and sort them. My older son also gave away probably 20 ships (mostly Star Wars) to his younger cousin. I'm sad he didn't want to keep them or go to the trouble of selling them but at least it's all in the family!

I did have a couple unopened boxes of assorted things and those are the ones I currently have listed and that seem to be garnering the most interest.

Oh, and also some random Disney things have sold (of course!)

I am so sick of arguing with my kids. I told them today that the next time they screech and moan about going to an activity they are DONE and they can reimburse me for the sparring gear/recital costume from their allowance accounts. I'm also planning a hardcore purge of the basement playroom because I am DONE arguing with them to clean. For a few years I've had "the box" where anything not picked up goes and they have to earn them back with extra chores. But that's too much effort on my part and a purge is coming!!!!

I do have some favorite books and a few favorite toys saved. DD says she wants to save her American Girl dolls.

As for Legos, my husband is an adult collector so most of that mess he gets to deal with!

Like others, we're holding on to Legos and Brio trains (for some reason my kids never acquired Playmobile). But I do have a pile of things that I need to list on eBay. Over Christmas the kids went through their teen years books and we have a lot to donate but some of the sets, especially some manga sets, seem to be worth listing.

My husband is an adult collector. He actually started 20ish years ago on the suggestion of his therapist to deal with PTSD. A beer and a Lego project are his way to unwind.

I was going to book this hotel but the Marriot was cheaper on the same block I am a fan of this hotel. I am from that area. flying into IAD (in VA ) is a long ride into the city if you fly into DCA (also in va but closer) you can take your bags via the metro. I would choose the Whitehouse or Georgetown that's where I always end up going very walkable.
I too am hoping for the Hyatt signup to go up. its been hard buying a bigger house soon so I dont want to apply to cards.

also if you want to get around without a car tbh its a better choice.
parking is expensive in most places and traffic sucks when I lived there during rush hours which is now longer according to my brother it would always be faster to take the metro than to drive. I am going on a trip coming up and I dont really want to rent a car but I have a kid so it will have to be a stroller everywhere, but I'm thinking about just getting a lyft now (got to use that discount) and taking a stroller the only problem is the car seat if I want to go out still not 100% sold on renting a car. But if you are all adults with no young kids id say this is the better choice.

To the Legos! We cleaned out our attic a year ago and donated a lot of old toys. DH spent a month putting together all the Lego sets, buying any missing pieces from some Brick website, photographing them, then taking them apart to store for future generations.

My church is having a book sale next month. All of DS's books are going. He is 28 and living 3000 miles away, he doesn't want them. It's me who has a hard time giving away all the Artemis Fowl, Eragon, etc books. So much sci fy/fantasy. I took pictures of DD 24's books so she could tell me what to keep. Everything but the Tamora Pierce books is going!

If he is only 2/24 and yes next July back to 1/24 then I do think the Venture is a great choice. Especially since you already have an idea what to use the sign up bonus for.

Lucky, my husband took the time to pack away a lot of our good - worth saving toys. Our youngest is 19 so he did it years ago. We have a beautiful Thomas train table with many many trains. Also ALOT of Playmobile. LEGOs too that he saved but they are basically all in a big box not all separated.

All the Thomas stuff and the tables that housed them (yes... 2!) got sold locally a few years ago. Sadly, the Playmobile joined the bulk of the non-SW Legos in my temper tantrum this past summer.

It was such a long and painstaking process and my husband made a comment that I interpreted as "I'm sick of the living room being covered in this stuff you're taking pictures of to sell" that I just tossed it all in the van and dumped it.

I hope the SA made some money off it tho!

It is a little painful to see them go, although I had a harder time with the early reader books--my kids were not interested in saving any of those, but I did keep some that were their (and my) favorites. With the young adult books, the kids did each keep a dozen or so, plus I rescued a few classics like Black Beauty and Call of the Wild, but I have a harder time justifying keeping any more--it seems better to pass them on to kids who will read them now.

Fly in to Reagan National Airport(DCA). There is a metro train stop right at the airport so you don't have to mess with any type of bus transportation like at BWI. The Hyatt Place National Mall and White house both have Metro station close by so you get on the metro at the airport and get off close to your hotel. It really can't be any easier than that. The DC metro is really safe. Grand Hyatt Washington will have a little bit more walking to the mall area but more shops and restaurants nearby.
Holiday Inn Washington Capitol is also a nice hotel right next to the museums and close to a metro station.

If you plan on only doing stuff in DC there's no reason for a car, use the metro and your feet because most of it is walking distance apart or from a metro station. If you plan on going out to Udvar Hazy air & space museum, mt vernon etc you'd want a car but only for the day you do it. We drove up from NC and aside from the drive to the mall to meet my BFF for dinner we didn't drive anywhere. I've done the metro solo, with my mom and with friends and never had issues, it's easy to understand and transfer between.

You'll want to fly into Regan, it's an easy airport to navigate and is smaller than dulles. I've done all 3 though I've only flown into BWI and out of Dulles, RT from Regan. The drive from BWI isn't fun and I wasn't even going to the district but to dulles. Split a week between charlotte and DC to visit friends and it was cheaper to fly from CLT to BWI and rent a one way SUV to drop at Dulles where my BFF could pick me up than it was to fly into either Dulles or Reagan, but from Seattle when I go it's always through Reagan or Dulles and my BFF generally flies out of Dulles the most often, then BWI and rarely, if ever Reagan.

I had A-list gifted to me. I haven't looked into it much, but can tell you they check you in early. I had A24, the rest of the family was A59, B3 and B4 and I checked all 4 of us in at the same time (multiple browsers).

I just go to grubhub then select pick up and the one by me (Short Pump) shows up. But the one by our Costco doesn't so maybe the franchise owners decide whether or not to participate? But I thought @Albort or @wendow said something about using the ChickFilA app and that crediting when using Gold to pay. I haven't tried that yet.

I did not mention this but I'm intrigued! None of our CFA's allow p/u for grubhub. I think they do for Doordash but now I get free delivery there with the CSR...

Well the good news is I don’t have gestational diabetes! I do have a little bit of anemia though so I have to start taking ferrous sulfate every day

I was anemic during one of my pregnancies. It was such an awful tiredness, like no other. I took "Blood Builder" and that works better and faster than ferrous sulfate and there are no side effects.
