Whats the consensus on waiting time after lowering a credit limit before applying for a new card? Just lowered my SW Biz card by $7k to apply for a CIP since I have a large purchase coming up soon. Sent the SM last night around 11PM and it was lowered by morning. They seem to be getting faster on getting to SM's now.

I saw them and ordered a bunch right away. I did SW, princesses, and mickey ones. We've been going through masks like crazy with four of us on our daily walks/hikes so I'm storing up to not have to hit the washing machine as often.

I really don't get the resistance or fear of masks. They are mandatory in my area, and you get used to them really quickly. My son is special needs with sensory issues. It took patience and a few outings, but he is totally on board and says something (loudly) when we pass people who aren't wearing them "Why aren't they protecting me like I'm protecting them?" Good question! Does he like them? No. But he's dealing. If they enable us to help stop the spread and move around with a little less risk that's all good in my books. Glad to see all the major US airlines have joined JetBlue in making them mandatory. Hope the International airlines will follow suit soon.

We’ve been to the pediatrician and back to the hospital since the baby was born. I would guess 20% of people had masks. I can’t believe anyone is allowed in the hospital without a mask. When we went to deliver, a couple stood behind us at the ER with no masks. Then yesterday I went for lactation help and a lady was like 3 feet from me trying to say how cute he was. I was just trying to get on the damn elevator as fast as I could. I was already stressed enough being at the hospital again

I knew the moment B6 announced it, it was only a matter of time before everyone else followed. I have no problem with it at all, seems like a common sense step to protect the crew and passengers alike. Around here obviously we have mandatory masks, it's only been for a little while but most people here were already wearing them anyway, and you get used to it. The other day in Costco I nudge my glasses down on my noise, granny style. I'm sure I looked funny, but the fogging was way less. I did have to keep reminding myself not to push them back up though.

I wear glasses too, and mine keep fogging up as well, even with the masks that have the wire reinforcement on the nose bridge. I've read that skin friendly double stick tape (like the kind worn with plunging necklines) helps to seal the mask to the skin below your eyes but I don't have any of that around lol.

Too funny. My Mother Denim masks (and some socks) arrived yesterday I've also bought masks from Love Your Melon and Sanctuary Clothing, in addition to the Disney ones. Waiting for some good Cal ones....

I was really happy to see the announcement about the Hilton Aspire resort credit applying to restaurant spend. We will definitely be using DH's resort credit that way. Mine was used for a Las Vegas hotel stay in late August, but I think it's pretty likely that trip will be cancelled (it's for a college football game and I am not optimistic about the upcoming college football season, at least with fans). So if that trips gets cancelled and Amex claws the credit back, that one will be put to restaurant spend as well.

We will also be able to use the new Platinum streaming and wireless credits as well. For streaming, we've got Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ in addition to Prime. We are also in a free one year of AppleTV+ that we got when we purchased a laptop for DD to take to university, and I see probably wanting to continue that (loved The Morning Show and now watching Defending Jacob). I've already got our AT&T Mobility on the Platinum since I had an offer for $5 back 3 times, so will just leave that on the Platinum for the cash back...We've been using our CF for groceries, but are likely to max that out this quarter, so nice to be able to use the CSR for 5x on grocery spend as well. 12x from Hilton is also tempting with the Aspire, but I feel like 5 URs are worth more than 12 Hilton points....

I'm pretty shocked by that as well given what we now know about asymptomatic spreading and the role masks can play in stopping it. I suspect as the mixed message begins to clarify that will change, but it certainly doesn't help you when you are dealing with a newborn! My anxiety would have been through the roof as well. It's weird, but once you get used to the whole mask thing you really notice when people aren't wearing them, and it makes you much more anxious. Fortunately where I am, people are really starting to get the message. They are mandatory, but there were flouters. Now, I rarely see people not wearing them.

I'm also pleased by the new rewards announcements. We've used our Hilton Aspire resort credit, but the 5x on the CSR for grocery stores will supplement our freedom cards. I also read on the site that shall not be named that it may work for Target's that have groceries. That would be huge. I'm also really happy about the extra Dell credits on my Plat business since we are in the market for a couple PCs. I'll do one now and one in July. I should also be able to use the streaming credits for Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and maybe prime if I buy movies? I have apple too from a phone purchase, but we have only watched it once. I'm hoping the new Chris Evans show is good.

Some savings just kinda fell in my lap today. I had been thinking about refinancing but hadn’t really done much more than look at some of the websites and see that you can’t just get a quote without giving someone all of your information, which I hate doing because they never stop calling or sending emails. Today a guy from Wells Fargo home mortgage (who already has our original mortgage) called out of the blue and said we should refinance because he has finally seen movement on the VA refi rates. After I made him send me an email so I could determine whether he was actually a Wells Fargo employee and not someone trying to steal my identity, an hour later we had an application done for refi with a 2.75% rate. We originally had a 3.75% rate so I wasn’t expecting a much lower rate, but I am definitely happy with the extra savings!

credit card related: I’m guessing there is no way to get points from the closing costs.

Same thing happened to me. I have 2 payments still processing, and my future payments were all removed. DoC is reporting that there is an email going out saying that the processed payments won't be sent, either, unless you reply back to Plastiq telling them you're ok with a 2.5% fee. Bummer.

We also have the AppleTV+ from a recent Apple purchase and I had no idea those shows even existed. Thanks for the recommendations. The only series we watched on it was Snoopy in Space.
