I feel like we've lost so much as family this year - from my dd19's long-awaited DCP, to all the trips we were supposed to make to see her (and the reason we bought AP's for the very first time), to dd17's loss of leadership camp, Poland mission trip, biggest dance performance of her life, first prom we'd agreed to let her go to with a boy, to both ds's basketball season ending abrupting, baseball getting cancelled - it's just been one big year of loss and while the loss of travel has been big, it's honestly been stuff in our regular day-to-day life that has been just as hard. As I type this right now, my dd17 is sitting here crying. We just learned today about her big dance performance getting cancelled. We're still processing this news :(

My dh is also one who is happy as clam to have this continue cause he likes working from home and is an introvert so he's pretty good with the way things are. I mean that he doesn't dismiss those who have gotten sick but he also kind of likes this whole 'let's hunker down' thing. I hate it. So we're a bit at odds there. In the end, we hate the losses this has brought to our family and others. It's hard. There is no other way around it.
I understand, it’s so hard!! My DD is supposed to student teach in the fall. She is currently in grad school, and most of her classes were online anyways. But the one important class that wasn’t online included 3 weeks of observation in a local high school. Instead she is watching videos. And there has been no news on how they will handle student teaching in the fall. It’s been stressful for her for sure. But I didn’t want to complain because so many people have lost out so much more. Glad we can come here and share.
Also we were supposed to go to Disney the first week in March, but cancelled and switched to later in March so she and our son could go with us during their spring break. Of course that trip was due to start 2 days before Disney closed. We don’t know when we will be able to go together again due to different schedules. On the bright side we were going activate new APs in March, so I don’t have that to worry about. The APs are just hanging out waiting in my MDE to be activated whenever we do go back.

So true. I feel kind of guilty complaining, but I hate the lock down. I'm also horribly worried for DD21. In addition to missing the end of her senior year, there's the horrible employment situation. There are absolutely no jobs available. She's been diligently looking, but this is absolutely the worst time to graduate. She is anxious and can't sleep. She's crying constantly and the worst thing for her would be to have to move back home with no job and no prospects. She has a difficult personality and if she has to live in quarantine with DH, I will have world war III in the house.

So sorry!

I understand how you feel, my son graduated from college in FL during the Great Recession. He did not want to move back to LI, plus the job market wasn’t any better here and the cost of living is so much higher.
We did help him a bit until he could find a job in his field. As a parent I felt so helpless watching him go through it.
Sending :grouphug:

My personal favorite...Steve from Blue's Clues was on an episode of the original Law and Order.

Completely off topic, but I went to junior high and high school with Steve. We were in the same grade. He and I caught up several years back over dinner while he was in town. He was an awesome person in school and is still awesome to this day. 🥰

News, if you didn't know (I wasn't on here yesterday):

Nice to see the CSP on that list!! I will definitely take 3x over the 2x I get on my JetBlue Plus. Especially since yesterday I finally got a Wegmans delivery slot for the first time since late March (the Brooklyn one is nonstop slammed). Gonna have to see if I can switch out the card for that order, they deliver early tomorrow afternoon.

Now all I need is another Blue Apron offer to pop up again.

Plastiq is currently charging me no fee to make payments for both Amex and Visa cards. Not sure if this is targeted or not (I didn't get any email from them) but wanted to share in case anyone else has it too.
Thank you! I also did not get an email, but I just rescheduled my car payment and my monthly HOA. And went ahead and scheduled mortgage. I would set that for the rest of the year except we close on the refinance next month.

I completely understand. My daughter is also job searching, though thankfully she says they're fine without her working right now. She did live here for a year between college and becoming a military spouse and while we survived, she and DH would not have survived quarantine. I hope your daughter is able to find something soon.

Thank you. Yes, moving home without a job would be hard enough in normal times, but in quarantine...Oh Boy!!! Good luck to your daughter finding a job as well.
