Is it bad I have been married for 32 years and have no idea what size DH wears currently? I don't buy him clothes. He gained a lot of weight during our marriage and lost around 80 lbs once he started Scuba diving to help his oxygen utilization. He was quite proud of the fact that he could wear the suit he wore for our wedding in 1987 for our DD's wedding in 2016.

I was planning to upgrade my CSP to CSR this summer, but maybe I will just get a 2nd card on DH's. Wonder if they will increase the fee for a 2nd card as well? We often travel separately and I'm sure we will keep his but have no need for 2 at a higher fee.

thanks. I wonder if this would cause a problem if My son (who currently lives nearby but still gets bank statements etc sent to my home) could transfer to my account for use.....

Just be aware that Chase has shut down accounts for violating the transfer to household members rule in their terms and conditions.

Nothing "new" to report on the Shutdown Front...

Shutdowns have continued. Today there was one with 4 biz cards (2 in '18 and 2 in '19) and 1 personal in '17. That still fits what I've said thus far. All others were more cards than that.
Also, a word of advice - don't attempt to close your frequent flyer account to avoid shutdown :-)
  • T&Cs state that voluntarily closing your account, while in good standing, forfeits all miles but retains all bookings.
However, this doesn't work and will bring more harm than good (i.e. you're basically asking for your shutdown to be expedited).

My brother is 6’4” and wears a 28”. Its like being related to gumby. My husband’s pant size can change by brand so I never know and refuse to buy him any he doesn’t try on.

CSR- we probably will downgrade ours after booking DLR hotels if they increase the AF for doordash/lyft. We don’t live anywhere thats useful really (and $10 is not enough for a meal even with pickup usually- we cant justify ubereats either and the pickup options are super limited). If they increased to 4x or 5x earnings for travel and dining I’d change my tune, but I can’t justify the Gold and CSR with increased AF and the Gold with groceries is better than CSR with travel for our spend that isn’t going to MSR.

Phew, just caught up. I’ve been swamped at work so it’s been tough for me to keep up here during the day.

Don’t like the sound of these CSR potential changes. I’m not interested in any delivery options or Lyft/Uber credits. And, of course, I was getting ready to PC DH’s CSP to a CSR. I won’t get it now if it goes to $550. The only Chase travel I’m tentatively planning to book right now is United flights to Hawaii, and that’s not even a given for me. I’ll wait and see if the math makes sense and PC later if I need to.

@nickle831 saw your post on NYC. I think I did a review of the Marriott Marquis Times Square on the hotel thread. I stayed there a December 2018. It was really nice and the rooms are a great size. There’s nothing “Marquis” about it other than the location though. I was very pleasantly surprised how quiet the rooms were. We had a room overlooking the Disney store and never heard any outside noise or noise from other rooms.

this has paranoid me quite a bit so that every time i walk in, i always put the physical and digital security up right away.
Me too. I can’t imagine sleeping without having the security chain/lock/bar up.

In fact at the VRBO we stayed at in Moab, I messaged the owner to say he should add some additional interior security. With a digital outside lock that other renters or cleaners had the code to, it was disconcerting not to have an interior deadbolt or some other type of lock when we were in the condo.

We rarely use delivery services. We don't do a lot of takeout either - Its one way I try to save money so I can spend it on things like travel :rotfl: . But your comment made me think about how often I ordered delivery when I was in college and had no money! Funny how it seemed perfectly logical then, and seems like such a waste now.
In college I paid for delivery because I didn’t have a car, or a kitchen. Now I’m too cheap to pay for delivery and too lazy to pick up. I’d rather just make something.
did you use the previously posted link here?
No, I had actually applied before that. I googled and found an offer with $20 gift card and $25 “special offers”. I didn’t check though, so it was probably the same offer.
Oh boy do I feel you! I still roll my eyes thinking about how many patient rooms I walked into only to be met with “oh good I’m ready to order my lunch now.” 🙄 I’m thankful to be in outpatient now, at a gym, with coworkers that actually appreciate me and what I do. However, I still lose my mind over the amount of armchair experts out there, not to mention IG influencers. I would LOVE to be able to go into private practice and be my own boss one day, but there’s bills to be paid and health insurance to maintain for now.
Yeah, everyone knows about food and diets and everything nutrition. 🙄 if I get called “Dietary” one more time... I have actually told doctors that if they want Dietary, I will send up the potwasher from the kitchen. If they would like my help, please consult the dietitian. That’s actually one reason I prefer nutrition support. Most people are intimidated by it. The residents and attendings alike happily consult me to manage their patients’ tubefeeding so they don’t have to figure it out. Lol. I couldn’t work at a gym. Don’t you find lots of know it all trainers who just encourage more protein, more protein? Recently had a patient who literally ate himself into renal failure due to excess protein intake. Despite being told to stop (by dietitians and nephrologists) he continued because weight lifting.

I was planning on upgrading too. With the amount of money we put into cruising every year I want a card that gets three points for travel. The CIP would fit that need if I get approved, but the CSR would be a great card because of the travel insurance. If they up the AF I don't know if I'll get it. The only cards I currently have that I can justify the AF is the Hilton Aspire and Marriott BIZ. I figure when I cancel my Amex Gold I'll be back on the pop-up list.

Nice new avatar, lol! I couldn't let that one go unanswered...See you tomorrow, and thanks for dealing with all of the RotR nonsense. I plead guilty to not visiting the parks thread on that even once and letting you be our fearless WDW leader.

LOL, you two are so funny! Although at first I thought Oski was Joe the Bruin and was super confused (my DH is a UCLA alum).

Have a great run this weekend (what are y'all doing-full or half?). Best wishes for cooler weather than predicted-when I ran my one (and only Marathon) it was 81 or 82 by the end and it was not fun.
🥵

Are there really 3 dietitians in this thread? That’s kind of crazy lol.

I’m with you on the nutrition support. Working in a gym sounds like my own personal idea of he**.
At my hospital, we have order writing privileges, so I get to order all my own tube feeds and TPNs and the surgical interns I work with are very happy for me to do so. It’s a nice little level of independence. And most of the surgeons I work with understand that I know what they’re talking about and talk to me as as such, not like I’m the lunch lady.

of course, I work for the hospital and we have a food service management company that I do not work for, so whenever I get a good compliant I can easily say I’ll inform the manager of that department and I have nothing to do with it.

Exciting news about the SW increased bonuses. I was hoping for the offer from last year that gave the free CP for the remainder of the year, we are heading to Hawaii in March and it would be nice to be able to have DS fly for free with DH. DD is already going for free on my CP.

I need SW points so we will definitely do the offer, I'm just trying to decide if we should try to go for a CP for DH. If we went for the CP it would be ideal to have it before mid March which would be really tight.

I currently have a 5,000 MSR with a new Delta Gold and a CIU. Adding a 8,000 or 10,000 MSR for DH might be a bit much...

Here are DH's stats

Sapphire-downgraded to Freedom4/2016
SPG bus4/2018
CIP5/2018
Venture -closed7/2018
Barclay-closed9/2018
CIU2/19
CIP #28/2019

If we tried for a CP do you think DH would qualify for the business card with 2 business cards in 2019?

I'm content doing just the 75,000 bonus with a referral from my account.

Any thoughts? We can always use SW points. I know I need 93,000 for summer plans.

I got auto approved for the cip tonight! Woohoo!

also I logged into my PNC back account tonight and my debit card (which I never use) is showing offers. Currently there’s only one for audible, but if it started getting offers like chase offers I’d be happy. More staples offers are always a plus for gc.

Auto approval - a real treat there!!

There's a 100-page thread on this topic on Flyer Talk. A lot of people locked out on edge regarding their booked flights. I'm just curious to see all this all ends up.

I think people are pretty aware that locked out people are on edge. People that aren’t locked out are on edge too by the way. I’m just not sure what you’re trying to say here?

I wasn't trying to say anything? Just pointing out another thread to read if anyone's interested in whats going on.
