I just checked and I'm able to get Welch's natural grape jelly with 2 day shipping. I think it must have to depend on where you live. The only Jif natural I can get is chunky.

ETA: I just tried doing it on my computer instead of the app and shipping isn't even showing as an option. It only lets me choose pick up or same day delivery. Have you tried using the app?

Well that's just silly. I haven't tried the app, shopping on their app is equally bothersome. And I'd still need the tortilla chips so I'll just go on Friday. I don't mind. You'd be surprised how quick you can take on the entire store and get out in 20 min :) Supposed to be a nice day so maybe people won't be out shopping, or I'll just run into them with the cart if they're in the way :rotfl2:

Pace is no good lol
I prefer Sprouts mild, we both like Whole Foods mild. Target's Simply Balanced mild is acceptable to us both. When we can't get those we will settle for Clint's, Green Mountain, Drew's (I think that's what it is), Newman's Own and there's one more I can't think of, but I'd know if I saw it. Some of those are probably regional. I live on chips/salsa/queso and I know I shouldn't. It's just such a quick, easy lunch for me, I mix beans or left over taco meat or really almost anything into my queso.

We don't have sprouts and whole foods is too far away, they apparently don't think anyone south of seattle wants to shop there, not that I do but still. I also get medium. I've tried the simply balanced and it might've been the one I chose but wasn't overly thrilled with it, same with Newman's Own and I do like buying his stuff to support hole in the wall gang. The others I haven't heard of but I know we have a bunch of stuff that I've never heard of. I should probably try another store at some point because our target has very few options and the grocery store I go to doesn't really have anything else I want to try. Will have to check safeway at some point. I'd get it from the mexican place we go to but I only like their salsa with their chips, which I know sounds ridiculous but it's not the same with store chips. But when I lived in San Jose I'd go to this taco place for the salsa and tolerate their tacos and this place for their tacos and only get tacos, so good. The "fast" mexican we have near me is awful.

@Haley R I know the voting is closed an decision made lol but I am also 100% in the camp of waiting. I learned my lesson with evicting babies before they are ready. I was induced with dd17 for medical reasons but I chose induction for ds11 for convenience. He was due Oct 28 and we were trying to work around dh's schedule and my mom's schedule (she was going to stay with our girls). We also wanted a certain doc who if we didn't have the baby by Oct 30, would not be back for a couple days. So, we set up induction for Oct 30. The labor itself was fine but ds was born not able to regulate his body temp, unable to nurse well and without eyebrows or eyelashes...all signs of a 'preemie', except he wasn't a preemie at all. I'd been charting my cycles and knew when I conceived. He just simply need more time to 'bake', which isn't all that uncommon with boys, and we yanked him out earlier. So, I vote to let your son stay put for as long as you can.

I've ordered some things where they tried really hard to make sure it didn't leak... but it leaked. The most recent was two large bottles of Woolite (one "regular" and one "dark"). Both bottles had a little piece of tape over the caps... and were individually in plastic bags, zip tied closed. It MOSTLY worked and I only had to pour a few ounces of the regular Woolite back into the jug from the plastic bag that caught most of it...
Note to self - do not order laundry detergent from target online.
I wasn't going to order, because the top I wanted is either gone or I can't find, was clearance but thanks for mentioning the pb&j, I need both so back to their site. And of course I can't get the jelly I want shipped. The one I have expires next month, I'll just wait and go into a Target and get the stuff I need. There's nothing pressing anyway and nothing would be here until Friday anyway so at that point I could just go to the store.

I love Target but they just suck sometimes, especially with online
I haven’t been to target in person in more than a month. It’s not so much the distance 35 minutes away. It’s just so many more people shop there and I have been trying to avoid that.
After reading all of your thoughts (unanimously voting for waiting lol) and watching some videos about the induction process, I've decided to wait. Since I'm only 1 cm dilated I would have to start Sunday night with Cervidil and it sounds like that can cause some strong contractions. Then I would have to get Pitocin the next morning if labor doesn't start before then. It just seems like a lot of medicines and monitoring that I could potentially avoid by waiting. A lot of moms said they had to get an epidural soon after the Cervidil because the contractions were so painful. Obviously if he's not here by next Thursday I won't have a choice. I really want him here now and I'm sick of being pregnant, but I think this is the right choice. Dh voted for Sunday lol. So he's the lone wolf and I think he's only choosing that because we already made the plan and he wants the baby to be here.
I think you are making the right decision. With so many ladies here there are certainly a lot of different scenarios we can all tell you.
i has to be induced for my second child. My water was “leaking” but Not broken all the way so doctor wanted to induce me to insure I delivered with in 24 hours. The pitocin is no joke. I had her 4 hours later.
Epidural for child #1 - it did help ease the pain but I didn’t like not being able to get up and walk around.
Nothing significant to report for # 3. No meds involved.

Thank you everyone that’s answered so far. All of you said you’d rather wait. I’m completely over being pregnant but I’m willing to wait if it’ll be more natural. She told me to just message her if I change my mind. I’ll have to talk with Dh and see what he thinks. She didn’t want me going passed a week but next weekend would be just a little over a week so she’s okay with that.

ETA: I talked with Dh and my doctor. She said either one is fine. If we don’t do Sunday then we’ll do Thursday instead. She said the benefit of going earlier is a smaller baby but there aren’t any risks to waiting. I have until Sunday morning to decide.

I would wait, only because after I had my first baby I was so sad that I wasn't pregnant anymore. As much as I was excited to meet her, I wanted to keep her safe and out of the world's grasp for a little longer. I would of loved 1 more week.

Sorry I've been talking about labor a lot lately, but I have a question for some of you. My doctor said I can be induced starting Sunday or I can wait until next weekend because she'll be on call then, too. I haven't felt any contractions yet. I'm 70% effaced and only 1 cm dilated. Should I just get it over with on Sunday or try waiting until next weekend to see if he'll come on his own? She's fine with either of my decisions.
If I was in your shoes, I would wait. Your body knows what it is doing. Your son could surprise you at any moment and let you know it's time. Rest up before he arrives.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier when posting about the extension of SWA travel funds. My understanding was that the extension would apply to travel funds with an expiration date up to September 7, 2020. However, I had some travel funds set to expire after that date, on September 25, 2020, and these were also extended. Literally every travel fund in my account now expires on September 7, 2022. Huge kudos to SWA for this.

And I totally forgot the most exciting part of my day! I popped in to Albertsons mid-morning today to pick up a prescription, and there was a whole aisle filled with toilet paper!!!!!! We were literally down to about our last 6 rolls, so this was huge :cheer2::cheer2:.
woohoo!!! Now didn't I read there's going to be an option to turn those funds into points, thus making them usable for anybody? and the TP...so exciting! (we live in a weird time lol) I found a lovely big box at Sams yesterday....

personally? I'd wait.... I'm not a fan of forcing something that may not be quite ready to go...

Yes, pretty much, although we are trying to keep them from being too watery if that makes sense. Sometimes there is water on top, and I read we should feed it then so I do. They are getting "fed" once or twice a day, depending. It's just not rising. Well, one did one night (and reached the top or otherwise I wouldn't have known since it certainly didn't look different in the morning), but generally they are just sitting there. We have made scallion pancakes from the discard, so something is working, but the bread flour one is just sitting there, bubbling but not rising.

I'll take any advice you have to offer. It's been a week, but it's been cold here (hence my ill-advised putting it too close to the stove today).
Ok, things I learned with mine...(it's on that other thread also)
1-I don't pour off each time I feed.
2-I only feed once per day if on counter (once per week if kept in fridge)
3- I like to keep about a cup and a half in jar at all times(most recipes ask for a cup)
4- for that amount,I feed it 1/4 c flour, and a bit less than that in filtered water
5- when it ougrows the jar,I pour off onto a baking sheet, and make flatbread in the oven-(350 for about 15 mins)
6- I'f I don't plan to use use it a lot,in the fridge it goes.
7- the liquid on top is ok,a vinegary smell is ok. you can pour off liquid on top before feeding.
8- liquid on top might mean it needs more food. If it's needing too much food, pour some starter off, down to about 1/4 cup,and start feeding again.
9-I have both a gf and regular starter going
10- for an extra feed boost, give it some sugar. yeast loves sugar!
--ETA---- I saw a few posts back....YES. the light on in the oven for all rises is key in my house!
Still experimenting with a bread recipe that I like. I think I've found one that's fairly simple. google a few,try a few. You'll find something you like.
FWIW, possible that a sugar/flour feeding before starting your bread may help. Also try the 'long sponge' method- (google that)

Wow that shipt order was a fail. The shopper delivered our groceries over an hour late, lots of weird things were out of stock (moose tracks ice cream???), and she never told us when she was checking out or anything until I asked. I normally tip high with everything going on but she was terrible :(

It looks like the RAT has been busy in Canada. Details posted on dischurners. Speculation provided on reason for complete shut-downs.

I am seriously terrible with Reddit. It's under "What card should I get next".

I am shocked by this development as this company has always been very lenient in Canada, now they are shutting people down at an alarming rate.
I’m horrible at reddit and can’t find it anywhere
me neither
I can count on my fingers the number of times I tried to figure out reddit
Chiming in late but glad I'm not alone. I'm bummed that some of the discussion on this thread has moved to reddit. I hate it, and I've tried many many times to get into it and follow along.

I went to Whole Foods yesterday, they were out of stock of a lot of things - it was really disappointing.

I have some travel credits to use on Dh's plat. I'm thinking of booking a low cost ticket and cancelling to get the SW credit and later convert to points.

I blame this on Dh lol. He wanted to do the earliest delivery time (10-11 am) even after I told him that might not be a good idea with the morning rush of people. I think they had the vulnerable hour this morning at target too. It’s not the shopper’s fault that things were out of stock but her communication was terrible. Every other shopper I’ve had asks if there’s anything else we want that we might have forgotten about. This person didn’t even tell me she was checking out until I texted her 20 minutes later

The link WVMomof3 (below) helped me find it, and seems like an easier way to find the latest news (from all the threads). Then if you see something of interest, you can click to go to that thread.

I have this saved on my bookmarks and it is the only way I access our Reddit thread. It will show you the newest posts and you can move around from there.

I, like many of you, am looking into options for fun domestic trips. This is partially due to COVID-19, but mainly due to the fact that DH and I are currently wrapping up our adoption approval process! We're set to be officially approved in May. Our South America trip (which was cancelled due to COVID) was going to be our last international hurrah for the foreseeable future, as we won't be able to travel internationally with the baby until after finalization (likely 1-2 years). With that said, here are some of the top options we've been considering:

1) National Park camping trips (we do these fairly often as is)
2) AMTRAK train trips - we've not done these but have heard good things
3) Mississippi river cruise - seems awesome but VERY expensive...
4) Hawaii
5) Alaska RV adventure
6) WDW (of course!)

The biggest problem with planning domestic trips is that I've struggled to figure out how to maximize my points/churning game. Does anybody have examples of awesome churning-enable domestic trips? I really do like the idea of some type of US River trip, i'll have to look into whether I can somehow do that with points.
Congratulations on the adoption :lovestruc My baby sister joined our family when she was 5 months and I was 10 years old.

My parents used to take Amtrak trips cross-country and up-and-down the west coast. They would get the room with the tiny bathroom. We used to call those their cruises  My mom had to stop flying in her 60s because of an ear issue. I'm glad they had an option to their driving trips!
We've had yeast last years past the expiration date in the freezer!
I store my Costco yeast in a mason jar in the fridge, and it stays perfectly good until I finish it all, sometimes 2 years after the expiration date.
National Park fans, change to Yellowstone reservations for 2021. Just got the email that 2021 reservations will be open on June 1 ,instead of May 1. I’m planning to go back 2021 and had next Friday blocked for trying to snag some rooms.
Oh good to know! :thanks:

I learned how to sourdough from my dad who kept his going for decades (I wish I had taken some of his starter before he stopped when my mom was sick). My tips are:
  • I feed 1:1 flour to water, 4 oz by weight of each.
  • I feed once a day if on the counter, once a week if in the fridge. I usually keep it in the fridge.
  • I just stir the separated liquid right back into the starter. It's no big deal.
  • My starter doesn't rise a ton. I look for the presence of lots of bitty bubbles to know that it's working.
