I can almost measure the stages of my life by the times I have seen Phantom! It is my all time favorite musical. Saw it when it opened at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto (with the opening cast), five years after that, again when Paul Stanley (of Kiss) played the phantom (he was spectacular), when dd turned 13 in NYC and in London West End (my parents said the staging there was far better than Toronto -- and they were right) on my second trip to London. About to watch the 25th anniversary YouTube show now. It never gets old for me.

It's an outstanding performance. Enjoy! Watch to the end past the cast taking their bows.

Got my sandals! They are very cute on, and the three straps across the top are super comfy. As suspected, there is no arch support whatsoever. Not an issue for me, but those who need support should not purchase these. Also, no cushioning on the bottom of the foot, so I wouldn't use these for walking sandals for big mileage (like for a full day of touring). They seem comfortable enough to wear around town for a couple of hours but they won't be replacing any of my walking shoes/sandals for travel. They are lightweight and should be very easy to slip into a suitcase, so they will work great for warm-weather vacations to slip on for cocktails, dinner, etc.
Thank you! So not my new Universal sandals :) I‘ll have to think about when I need another pair of sandals since I just treated myself to a pair of Tory Burch’s using my Saks credit.
I am still waiting for my size 7 flats to come but I realized today that I dropped them off at UPS instead of USPS last Fri so I have no idea what the UPS store would do them. I need to call on Mon and find out. I am loving the New coral flats!

It didn't sound that way. Our show was scheduled for the end of May. Maybe later shows they might be rescheduling?
Our Color Purple was Apr 4th, Anastasia was the weekend before and Frozen runs all of May, and they haven't cancelled any of them, they are currently trying to reschedule all of them.

I’m not even sure the last time we had food that wasn’t from home. When I got pregnant I had this whole plan to get subway after the baby since I can’t have deli meat right now. I’m just gonna have to make my own sub at home I guess

Wait, why not deli meat? Nitrates/nitrites? Never heard this. Either it's fairly new, or you have a great doctor!

Not new. I was told that and my kids are 24 and almost 27 😜

Hmmm ... Maybe the missus didn't tell me everything. We didn't eat much deli meat anyway, and she doesn't like Subway.

What was the reason for no deli meat?

ETA: I do remember something odd about staying away from cats

DEFINITELY Scott’s Tots. That’s one I can’t rewatch.

Same here! My mom was two weeks overdue with both me and my brother in July.
Worse than Phyllis wedding and trying to upstage the old man walking??? The wheel chair scene is the worst ever 🤣

Listeria is in most deli meats (mainly turkey) and cheeses that are in a case together. If the sandwich was hot it would be okay but I don’t like my sandwiches hot. My doctor wasn’t the one that told me this lol. It’s all over google. She did mention it at one appointment I think but she was just asking if I already knew

I don’t have to stay away from my cats. I just can’t do the litter

I’m sure we can’t yet make heads or tales of it yet but the DPs of Sole Prop denials by Chase are growing.

There is not yet enough data to draw any clear conclusions. Just be aware of these changes if you’re planning to apply. At this point it seems worst case is a denial and an inquiry so probably worth the risk (IMO).

Ahh, Listeria. Thanks!

Even though we didn't have cats, wife was told that a scratch from a cat that used a litter box could be a problem. Cat Scratch Fever, I guess.

ETA: Maybe you should stay away from doing kitty litter while nursing, then while child rearing, then ... Just saying

Our cats don’t scratch us. I’m very careful around them. One of the cats doesn’t scratch at all and the other one is really jittery so I make sure not to get too close to his claws. We also try to play with them a lot to get their energy out. You can get toxoplasmosis from the litter so Dh does all of the litter.

I'll have to mention this to DW - Phantom was her all time favorite musical for 30+ years......then came Hamilton.

I have tried once or twice to listen to Hamilton and it just didn't "grab me." But my younger son (who is far more interested in musicals than my older son.. which is not saying a whole lot) watched Phantom with me last night. He has heard some of the music from me, but had never seen any of it. I think they did a great job and I cried during the

part when Michael Crawford came out at the end

A gazillion years ago (ok... it was probably 27 years ago or so), my mom was out somewhere with friends and someone sang "Music of the Night." She was hooked and had to find out about it (had never heard the actual music). Being my mom, she bought the original Broadway tape (yep... cassette!) plus "Highlights" from Phantom, which is the same cast but some of the lyrics.... like those from "Music of the Night" are slightly different. Memorized the whole thing. Then while it was playing at the Ahmanson Theater in LA she took me to see it. It was Davis Gaines and Dale Kristien at the time. She probably went to see it at least three times. Then she took a gaggle of her third grade students to see it too and I don't know how it happened but they got to go back stage after the performance. I, in my college-age stupidity, had declined the trip. (The backstage part was a surprise to my mom too, so I didn't know about that beforehand). Davis Gaines had a previous commitment but they got to meet Dale Kristien and Michael Piontek (married to the voice of Belle, Paige O'Hara).

OK sorry, I went off on a tangent but I LOVE Phantom.

Didn't like the movie, though!

Besides Disney I really miss live shows. We have 3 musicals we were supposd to see get cancelled. The one I'm heartbroken about not seeing is Come From Away. I was looking forward to that. To keep this cc related, we are getting a refund to a card that was cancelled and looking forward to a check. We also subscribed to next year's season which helps with MSR on the CIP. I did see that musicals are being streamed on You Tube every Friday from the UK and stay up until 2 pm EST. Just got through watching the 25th anniversary performance of Phantom of the Opera. It was outstanding. Mind. Blown. Some pretty cool surprises at the end after the cast takes their bows.

I know we got some credit cards peeps that also love musicals so here's the link.
Me too! I love love theatre, I just finished watching it. It was INCREDIBLE. I want to go back to Broadway ASAP! I tried to go once a year but haven’t been since fall 2018. The last show I saw on Broadway was Waitress.

We were supposed to see Come From Away in May!

My girls are definitely bummed. The concert was about the only thing we haven't cancelled this summer. I cancelled our flights and hotels as today. I would love to know when the concerts will be next year. Both girls will be in college, so it might make it difficult to go. I bought the tickets through Stubhub but I did buy the insurance. I haven't read if the insurance will cover if they postpone the concert.

They are issuing refunds to those who request them, so you should be able to get your money back. Those tickets were so hard to get. No way I’m giving them up. My DD is in college as well . . . thinking (hoping) that the 2021 date will be during the summer so the school schedule won’t be an issue.

I’d like to see Come From Away too. But really anything on Broadway. I pretty much love it all. Hoping our Dec trip works out.
