I want to pay DH's new CIU from my Chase checking account, but when I try to set it up it says something like - "cannot verify you are the owner of this account" - well yeah, because he's not. It then says have the owner of the account use Chase bill pay to pay this bill. But I can' figure it out. I log into my Chase account and go to pay bills, but It wants a zip code of where the bill is from. Anyone know what I"m doing wrong?

I’ve had the same issues, won’t add the account even though it’s associated with the other CIP on the same login. I have to use bill pay, I used the zip code on the statement

Is it worth it to do one of the SW cards if you never fly with them, will never fly with them & would just cash out for Disney GC?

It looks like the most recent personal offer would end up being "worth" $650 or so, which isn't terrible, but I'm not sure I want to give up a 5/24 slot. (The business version would be "worth" $525, but I definitely don't want to take 90 days "off the cup" for just $525.)

I think the SW cards are an excellent option even for just a gift card cash out. I think Amazon and Target are options too at 1cpp. Let me say that again for those in the back: Applying for Southwest Cards simply to cash out via gift cards and never fly is not a bad option.

That said, keep in mind your Chase pacing. You can't drink from the cup AND get a SW card. It's more like an either/or decision and the cup provides more value for sure. The fact that one is a biz card and the other a personal doesn't really affect our pacing recommendations.

Now if you wanted to use it to take a break from another strategy, that could warrant consideration.

Hey Gang, does anyone know what's happening with the Barclay Card Arrival Plus card? We closed our account last year while dealing with some financial difficulties. Now that's resolved and we were considering asking if it could be reopened, but I saw online that they are no longer taking new applicants. If the card is going to have it's rewards program changed, or be cancelled altogether, obviously it wouldn't be worth it to us to reopen it.

Currently we have the Southwest Priority card and are using that as our travel card

DH got an upgrade offer on his Amex Gold! 60k MRs for $5k spend. Planning to use up the airline and dining credits on the Gold, wait for it to post, apply for the Plat ( no pop-up), then take the upgrade offer.

Has anyone been able to pull up the 70 or 75k Plat offer via support? 75k only comes up for me without support.

I can pull up 75k from my Platinum incognito Chrome

Cash out those UR's and treat yourself! When you get there check on an upgrade to club.

Exciting News! I convinced the husband that I could do a trip to New York to take my daughter to see Hamilton for a quick 3 day trip (June 1st-3rd) using points for flight, hotel and tickets. I have AA miles and this looks like a decent deal for non stop, San Antonio to LaGuardia (Never used AA miles so tell me if I'm wrong). I'm going to use UR's to book a hotel, and I will use UR's to wipe away the tickets for the show, ($200 each )

Now I need help choosing a hotel. I want to be close, but I don't know what district to look in (well I think I do, Midtown or Manhattan?)
How far is to far from the area?

Actually it did! Yay! That makes my membership free, $25 credit plus $20 GC. Now I have a free Sam’s membership to use for Q2 Discover bonus

Posting some lounge DPs in case they help someone. DD was able to access the Flying Blue lounge at SFO yesterday afternoon, outside of the posted PP hours (this isn't the first time), and also was able to use a PP lounge in AMS for a 6 hour layover even though they have a posted limit of 3 hours. It was large, not full at all which is why they told her to just come on in I suspect, and had yummy tomato soup and stroopwaffels (she was quite pleased with it all). Her PP is attached to her Plat card.

Heading off to MCO tomorrow from OAK for Marathon weekend and our first trip of the second year of DH's SWA Companion Pass (I had it the two years previous). I have to admit the CP has lost some of it's luster since all of the direct flights to MCO disappeared from the Bay Area a few months ago. I'm not looking forward to our layovers. I'd almost rather pay for a ticket. Almost I hope when the Max issue is resolved the reinstate some of the direct flights--not sure if it was related or not but directs from OAK, SFO and San Jose all disappeared. Sigh. At least there is Maui to take away some of the sting, LOL.

I feel your pain about the loss of the nonstop OAK-MCO flights. I had nonstops booked for spring break, but they were canceled during the last Max issue extension. We got direct instead. One stop, but at least we don't have to get off the plane.
