I ordered Chinese food (not Panda Express-YUK! No matter how cheap it is) this week. We paid over the phone. They brought the food to the door. Not letting anyone into the restaurant. They seem to be doing a brisk carry out business. The more upscale sit down places around here are just closing.
Thank you. I think we are staying put in Florida for a while. If we decide to make a run for the border we will drive and not stop (except for restroom breaks). We have a little while to decide. It's hard because it's looking like SE Florida is going to be hit pretty hard. There is an 8 year old at a local school that just tested positive and my neighbor told me yesterday that "people" in our neighborhood have also tested positive. I'm not leaving the house except for solo exercise and to walk the dog (and a run for fresh fruit and bread at Publix today -- yay to Publix for having plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, milk and bread!).I can't believe I'm sharing another TPG post but this is a good look at why going abroad is a bad idea and why anyone abroad should head the warning to get home RIGHT NOW*. If they can. The US Embassy is already out of the picture in story after story here. Link
*I'm not yelling at any of our regular posters, I know no one here is abroad and we all agree it's a bad idea. But we have many lurkers and I really want to make sure they see how serious this is.
(Well @*WDW*Groupie* I know you have a very complicated situation here and I hope you're able to get where ever it is you want to be! And @Haley R with the crazy family- at least the lady in the article is going to Thailand so maybe they'll maintain flights and your fam will make it back home on time!)

Work hasn't shut down yet, but I volunteered to be one of the first to take unpaid time off because there are others who can't afford to miss a paycheck; but since I'm senior management I think they want me to stay around since I have the experience to help in any situation. I'm not sure what next week will bring work-wise, but this week has been pretty slow.
So far they have been able to keep the virus pretty well contained, but this can and likely will change at any point. It's a wait and see game. I was reading today that an employee at a jail (minimum security) in Toronto tested positive and is in hospital. This is very worrisome. They have locked down the jail and are establishing who this employee had contact with in the prison. I will know when the time comes to leave, but hoping I don't have to make that call.I posted my above before I read yours. What is the situation in Toronto? Do you think it will be better than here?
I've seen some random reports of people getting refunds instead of vouchers. Not many, but randomly they have been seen. Like spotting a lion on Kilamanjaro Safari.Just cancelled everything for April. Our Delta flight that I paid for with GC and cash, that I thought would be a voucher, said my refund will be processed as soon as possible. Really? They are refunding now?

Wait a minute... did the lions start all this COVID nonsense just to get some peace and quiet?!Oops...you better change to spotting a Cheetah. They've been making the lions be on stage pretty much all the times I've been there lately.
That would be pretty odd for me to be one of the random ones with a good outcome LOL.I've seen some random reports of people getting refunds instead of vouchers. Not many, but randomly they have been seen. Like spotting a lion on Kilamanjaro Safari.
Arizonan here and yes! I felt pretty lucky that I found a double pack of our favorite brand last week so you can bet I grabbed it and they're in the freezer.(Yes, tortillas are a staple. I am Californian.)
You can definitely take a bike ride. I would think that would be safer than walking actually since you’re going faster when you pass people. We’ve been walking every day stillArizonan here and yes! Husband currently on the phone with some sort of work thing. I am grateful he is in a field that's considered essential.
The weather is gorgeous. I think we're allowed to take a bike ride, right?
If not, there's always the motorcycles!
