This is the first night of my weekend, and I was actually rather productive. Slept this morning from around 0800-noon and this is the first time I've sat down since then (OK, I've been sitting for about 30 minutes now). I made a batch of pumpkin muffins, a meatloaf, and assembled a lasagna for tomorrow night's dinner that's currently in the fridge. The house smells great!

My husband FINALLY got approved to work from home, starting tomorrow. He is currently avoiding the fact that he needs to make some changes to his side of the office to accommodate this! He has a personal computer (for actual, you know, use) and about 4-5 other smaller ones he has built that are all for classic Amiga games. Something's gonna have to go!

The last couple of nights at work have been painfully slow (we don't use the "q" word in my work environment). I hope it stays that way but I have seen (or imagined) a slight uptick in DV related calls and juvenile related calls. Also we got a call from someone wanting to report a bar still open, I believe. Currently (and thankfully) not a police enforcement matter!

$3300 and still 2 months to go on meeting my CIP MSR. Should not be a problem, although it's looking more like my husband may not be able to walk on the beach in May after all :( I hope that doesn't happen.

Tomorrow was the day the kids should have been departing for their big "power regional" competition in San Bernardino. Still sad about that... especially when the SignUp Genius reminder came up for me!

I was able to get some dry goods at Target online earlier this week. Most if it shipped, except the olive oil.
I *finally* found some ground beef this morning after hitting up our Kroger chain early and while the snow had begin. Cashier said it was the quietest she had seen in a week. It was busy but they had everything I needed, except TP. Though many of the things I grabbed were the last on the shelf. Kind of crazy. Besides TP, there were no canned or dry beans. No rice. No canned tomatoes or fruits. No milk. it was surreal honestly and a bit scary.

And this has been the longest rolling 7 days ever, I swear. My job is chaos and I come home and can't relax - brain won't shut off and people email from work constantly. I know I am not alone in that.
I set work hours while working from home. Told my colleagues that I was disconnecting and shut off text notifications and did not look at email. Have to stay sane.

I went to the grocery store on Wednesday, found most of what I wanted except potatoes. I bought dry beans and stocked up, on canned and frozen food, hopefully won’t need to go back for a few weeks, it’s about 35 minutes from my hometown to the closest supermarket.
Glad you found ground beef, one thing we do have in our town is a local meat market so I can buy fresh meat there.

We just had a zoom “visit” with my siblings. My sister told me she just cancelled an April trip on AA booked on miles and that they were redepositing her miles and refunding all fees. She says she emailed the regular AAdvantage email about a week ago and got the response today. I’m going to send an email today and be patient but that’s good news.
Thank you!! I'll do that today!

This time last week my only worry was what mythical BG I would get for ROTR as I waited in the crowd for SDD...(I ended up with BG6). This week is how many vacations will I need to cancel and what new restrictions will be put into place and will DS return to school this year...my guess is no school, he'll complete the school year online.

My boss has asked that we all keep "core hours" of 8am - 5pm, maybe a little bit more if we need to get something done, but not to let working from home turn into working all the time. I've moved my home office upstairs (usually I work at the dining room table if I'm working from home, but have now made a permanent set up for myself with 3 monitors and everythng), so that is helping me not get sucked back in to do "one more thing".

Downgraded my CSR to CFU yesterday - was surprised that the rep didn't ask any questions about why I was downgrading - told him what I wanted to do and he just got on with it. It was all done in about 5 mins - and most of that was just him reading through all the various t&c's pertaining to the change. I can apply for a Sapphire product later on this year, and at the moment am probably leaning towards the CSP.

Also doing some general credit card housekeeping - got several cards on the chopping block over the next 10 weeks or so - time to trim the excess. The value assessment of many of these cards has changed significantly with the travel restrictions and lack of restaurant patronage and as always - one of the challenges is to get low value cards out of my portfolio, whilst trying not to upset Amex to the point of getting the pop-up.

Thank you. I will try that today.

DS is finally officially an AU on my Plat as a Gold and DH's Hilton Surpass since he is now a teenager as of last Friday!!! I had offers for points on those cards. Hopefully something will come through on my Gold card to add AUs for points before I cancel my Plat in the fall. If not, I'll just add him.

First known case in my community of an 18-24 year old yesterday. They are not in hospital at this point.

I know college kids and high schoolers are driving folks mad but they can get this and spread it to everyone in your house just like the rest of us. The data out of the EU and the US on young people being hospitalized and into the icu is much more disturbing this week than it was even a week ago when our lives started shutting down.

Does anyone know of any "creative" ways to use Barclaycard rewards? I was going to use mine on a vrbo rental for my DD's college graduation. Just got word last night that graduation has been postponed (hoping to still have it later in the summer), so I cancelled my reservation.

I'd like to cancel the card this June when the annual fee comes due, but I'm not sure what travel expenses I'll have coming up between now and then. I have a little over $900 to spend. Worst case is I'll just keep the card and use next year.

Yep. And us 30-50 year olds think we are safe and we're not.

I just wish the neighborhood kids (elementary school age) would stay inside. I totally get how much it stinks to be cooped up inside but I see these kids out my office window going from house to house. It's also beautiful here so that's not helping.

I just decided to torture myself and look at the SW website to see what flights are actually flying from my potential city pair next month. Not good. :sad1:

My DDs clinical was cancelled. She still has work at the UM hospital but will come home for 10 days. Looking forward to that! My DS26 is on self quarantine with aches and dry cough, no fever. My DS 24 is saving the world (manufacturing pharmaceuticals used in a clinical trial).

I take a couple of type 2 diabetes meds and blood pressure med and I see they are made in India, Italy and the UK. I'm good for a couple of months but now wondering what happens when I run out. Will there be any left at CVS? I can't order until I'm down to a weeks worth of pills.

To use up some points last year, I purchased a refundable SW flight. I decided to cancel the flight a few days later. Hopefully someone else has a more recent DP.
