I *finally* found some ground beef this morning after hitting up our Kroger chain early and while the snow had begin. Cashier said it was the quietest she had seen in a week. It was busy but they had everything I needed, except TP. Though many of the things I grabbed were the last on the shelf. Kind of crazy. Besides TP, there were no canned or dry beans. No rice. No canned tomatoes or fruits. No milk. it was surreal honestly and a bit scary.I was able to get some dry goods at Target online earlier this week. Most if it shipped, except the olive oil.
I set work hours while working from home. Told my colleagues that I was disconnecting and shut off text notifications and did not look at email. Have to stay sane. And this has been the longest rolling 7 days ever, I swear. My job is chaos and I come home and can't relax - brain won't shut off and people email from work constantly. I know I am not alone in that.
I went to the grocery store on Wednesday, found most of what I wanted except potatoes. I bought dry beans and stocked up, on canned and frozen food, hopefully won’t need to go back for a few weeks, it’s about 35 minutes from my hometown to the closest supermarket.I *finally* found some ground beef this morning after hitting up our Kroger chain early and while the snow had begin. Thank you!! I'll do that today! We just had a zoom “visit” with my siblings. My sister told me she just cancelled an April trip on AA booked on miles and that they were redepositing her miles and refunding all fees. She says she emailed the regular AAdvantage email about a week ago and got the response today. I’m going to send an email today and be patient but that’s good news.
My boss has asked that we all keep "core hours" of 8am - 5pm, maybe a little bit more if we need to get something done, but not to let working from home turn into working all the time. I've moved my home office upstairs (usually I work at the dining room table if I'm working from home, but have now made a permanent set up for myself with 3 monitors and everythng), so that is helping me not get sucked back in to do "one more thing".I set work hours while working from home. Oh no rush,thanks-I figured things were busy for you in your field of work...just wondered if it was temporary or permanent...Sorry - I need to refresh it at some point. Just been very busy at work lately.![]()

Yep. And us 30-50 year olds think we are safe and we're not.First known case in my community of an 18-24 year old yesterday. They are not in hospital at this point.
I know college kids and high schoolers are driving folks mad but they can get this and spread it to everyone in your house just like the rest of us. The data out of the EU and the US on young people being hospitalized and into the icu is much more disturbing this week than it was even a week ago when our lives started shutting down.
I just decided to torture myself and look at the SW website to see what flights are actually flying from my potential city pair next month. Not good.
My DDs clinical was cancelled. She still has work at the UM hospital but will come home for 10 days. Looking forward to that! My DS26 is on self quarantine with aches and dry cough, no fever. My DS 24 is saving the world (manufacturing pharmaceuticals used in a clinical trial).
To use up some points last year, I purchased a refundable SW flight. I decided to cancel the flight a few days later. Hopefully someone else has a more recent DP.Does anyone know of any "creative" ways to use Barclaycard rewards? I was going to use mine on a vrbo rental for my DD's college graduation. Just got word last night that graduation has been postponed (hoping to still have it later in the summer), so I cancelled my reservation.
I'd like to cancel the card this June when the annual fee comes due, but I'm not sure what travel expenses I'll have coming up between now and then. I have a little over $900 to spend. Worst case is I'll just keep the card and use next year.
