Trader Joe's was unreal today after work. The freezer case was bare. The lines went halfway to the back of the store and there was no social distancing I'm working from home tomorrow and dd has an appointment I have to go to. Then I'll pick up a few more things.

School here is closed for two weeks. Will be interesting to see "virtual learning." I can't imagine DS will learn anything but we'll say.

Trying hard to look for positive things. All day it was one piece of bad news after another.

Our local supermarket was the same.....a very long line..the 10 items or less line had only 3 people so since we had 20 items DH split them up into 2 orders

So here's a thing: I'm trying to transfer some MRs from DH's Amex account to his Delta account. It says that the names must match. Amex has always had DH's first name listed with the last letter of his first name missing, I presume because it's a longer name. It's correct on his credit cards, but never shows up on his account correctly. Will it be a problem trying to transfer to his Delta account?

Need to apply for another SW card tomorrow to get CP but at the same time travel just seems so unimportant right now to me.

I was off again all this week for more new baby bonding time and every time I checked my email it was another group cancelling...hotel industry is in an absolutely brutal place right now. I do believe it will rebound but I think the next 2 months are going to be absolutely awful.

Update: no problem! I just did it and had no issues transferring. So that was a relief. Positioning flights from RIC to JFK are now booked for 11.5k per person round trip!

Online learning is not an option for our county. I would hazard to say that 1/4 of our kids don’t have internet at home, so if they close our schools we will not have any required learning for however long we are out.

we have 1/4 of a mile of buried dsl line at our house so we have internet. We pay for 10mbps service but by the time it gets to the house it’s more like 5 or 6. It’s that or satellite for most of our county.

I was planning on getting a CSR in the next month but now I’m not sure if it makes sense. The plan was to book flights for June (for relatives), July for ourselves, and Christmas so the 1.5 would be good. We also were going to book japan tickets in June but that’s probably not gonna happen. Idk if I should be looking for a different card to get?

That will make people on the cruise boards happy. I feel like a lot of people feed on the drama and are little to gleeful about bad news. When people like posts talking about bodies piling up it’s a little weird.
Maybe I’m misinterpreting it but it’s the impression I get. I’ve pretty much decided to ignore all the cv threads from now on.
I’m continue to live my life and not really make any changes other than I may be eating take out for the next month because I refuse to deal with the mob scene at the stores.
No changes at this time to my Summer travel plans.

I'm full speed ahead on Japan for June. I just had friends there last week who had a great trip.

The whole thing is scary. My 401k is scaring me a lot more. I do worry about supplies at this point, with all the hoarding. We haven't stocked up on anything, and now I fear just getting basic supplies and food to live normally is going to get very difficult.

Interesting that Disney Springs will stay open. I will be curious to see how full the hotels stay, with no parks to visit.
Good that they will be paying their employees. That's going to cost them big, but it's the right thing to do.

Our finance person at Fidelity emailed me yesterday. I could not get back to it until today because my job is chaos right now because of this (healthcare PR). When I finally had a second to go make an appointment... well every slot was taken until April. We won't have any money left by then at this rate! I'm kidding but it does feel that way. The Fed injected 1.5 TRILLION... and the Dow still cratered to its worst one day drop ever.

People are not prepared for the economic pain that is coming.

Ironically when this stuff tanks, so do mortgage rates so we are busy as all get out at work right now. So my income isn't going anywhere. And I already work from home, so good there too.
