I am so happy to report that I got the match :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I've actually completed the spend already so the extra 30k points will post with my next statement close. I was getting nervous since it was over 24 hours since I sent the SM. So I managed to get a CP for 23 months with one SUB.
Thanks for the update...I’m going send a sm and to ask on DHs card...it was opened last month, not sure if we will meet the spend...but unexpected stuff happens so I’d rather ask now and get the match if we do.

Totally agree for the most part. Although we are perfectly content if he wanted to spend 15 min or an hour or 2 hours playing in the splash pad or jungle gym as long as he was enjoying himself. With only having one, it makes much easier to time things.

That’s why we did Dutch Wonderland for his first 4 years and didn’t add Hersheypark until he was 4. DW was perfect for a 1, 2, 3 and 4 year old. But then it was nice to have the combo AP for DW/HP until he was 6. And after 6, HP became the better option..

So glad it’s still around....My parents use to take us to Dutch Wonderland and I’m 60 ish....we loved it then and my sisters GC love it now...we use to also do the Hershey factory tour when it was in the actual factory and you could smell the chocolate..and if I’m remembering correctly they gave out full size Hershey bars at the end

We were bonvoyed. We made a reservation back in August using our 35k certificate at Sea World Renaissance for this March. We got an email confirmation showing the certificate was attached to the reservation. I recently checked the reservation and the certificate is gone and they want to charge us 40k points even though we made no changes to the reservation. When we called they claimed the best they could do was give us the 5,000 point difference and the certificate back. They say there’s no way to use the certificate on this reservation anymore. The 40,000 points are more valuable to me than getting back a certificate that I’m finding difficult and frustrating to use. They claim they’re opening a case but I’m not holding my breath. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The supervisor wouldn’t even listen while I was speaking. Anybody have experience with getting something like this resolved?

This kind of reminds me of what happened to a lot of points reservations last month. There seems to have been a glitch that canceled old points bookings that should have locked in the old, lower rate, and rebooked the reservation with a new, higher rate, without the reservation holder having made any changes.

Here’s a post about this issue: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/marr...ting-points-automatically-check-your-account/ (This DoC story is for your resource and background info only. Please don’t be one of those people on a call with Marriott who says something like, “but there’s a post on the Doctor of Credit blog that says so and so!”)

I’ve only seen DPs of this issue affecting purely points reservations, not FNCs. The solution has typically been for Marriott to issue a courtesy adjustment of points for the difference between the old rate and the new rate to cover your reservation. This appears to be what Marriott has done in your case. However, as you know, there’s no way to combine your 35k FNC with the 5k points adjustment to get your room back.

What needs to happen is you need to demand your room back, escalate if you have to, HUCA if you have to, and ask that Marriott take your FNC that had been attached to your reservation and give you another adjustment for the value of the FNC (35k) so that you have 40k points to use on the room that you had already booked before their error. I don’t know if the supervisor you talked to will do it, but keep calling and try to speak to someone else. Marriott doesn’t have a policy of letting you “cash out” FNCs for their points value (wouldn’t we all love to jump on this if they did?), but this is Marriott’s error so they should be able to make an exception to help you fix their mistake. This solution should technically be possible.

I hope this works out.

We’ll have our car and will most likely drive to most of the places but MK would be a lot nicer without having to drive. I hate driving there and taking the monorail or ferry. I’m basically looking at the whole month of February, preferably weekends so Dh doesn’t have to miss two days of work. I didn’t realize how busy February was.

Seems to me the question is do you hate driving around WDW or do you love saving some money more?

it is such a great place for younger children. They can ride almost everything and Duke’s Lagoon, if it still called that,is such a fun little water park for them. I have such fond memories of DS there.

Here’s a 2 year old DS enjoying DW...

Well I had a strange morning. First of all, I don’t wake up at 7 am ever. I know that’ll change soon but as of right now I go to bed at 12:30-1 so I usually sleep in some. Dh came into the room and asked if I was alright. I was super confused and said “yeah, why?”. He said I screamed out like I was in pain and he was worried. I kind of laughed because I was having a dream that I was teaching a student at home about music (weird) and Dh was sitting on the couch playing funny videos on his laptop trying to make the kid laugh. In the dream I screamed in frustration and apparently also did it out loud 😆

@SouthFayetteFan- thank you for all the height info for Universal. We will be spending two days there in Nov. Dd will be about 3 1/2. I would have preferred Disney but DH is insisting since DS is 5 and has never been. Just measured DD and she is 35 1/2 inches so she should be able to do a few things by Nov.

@Haley R- I have been torn on what to do post cruise in Nov. I think SeaWorld is a great option. I have been wanting to check out the new Sesame St area while the little kids are still little. It is also a good way to use our FNC from Marriott since we tend to stay onsite at Universal and Disney.

@CyndiLouWho and @Alexle2007 so fun!! Best moms!

I bought my boys some matching Disney shirts today (kohls is having a great sale fyi for those in baby and toddler sizes). Figure I better take advantage of them wearing whatever I want while I can. Only a little over two weeks until our first park day and BOG breakfast!!
I miss the days of choosing cute outfits for my boys. Enjoy. :-)

Ah, thank you!

it sounds like we have a lot of best moms (and dads) on this forum, you included! Enjoy them while they are little! They‘ll be teenagers way too soon.

Have fun at WDW!
