Ok, this isant really CC related although I’m going to use a CC to pay for it...but where is the best place to buy AP textbooks from? My DD is taking AP World History and I can get it from Amazon but I’m wondering if there is a better place to get it from. I know a bunch of you have already been down this road and could let me know if theres a better place to purchase from.

I mostly used Amazon Used Books for those AP books, but I have also seen people talk about Chegg. Amazon Used had stuff from Powells (a great store in Portland) so I looked there directly and found some there, too.

ETA - I think I paid $20 for a $350 chem book, $10 for a $250 calc book, etc.

We are now under an advisory here not to travel to Florida plus 9 other states. Not prohibited, just advised and suggestions to test and quarantine after return if we do travel. Not an order though. Basically just use some common sense.

Hope things get better soon all over.

No notice of delivery for my refrigerator yet. I may have to buy a smaller one to fill in. I've also noted that some models are delayed in delivery from other outlets as well.

I've pretty much made up my mind that I will not travel before next year. Hard to let go of my park reservations and nights though. Not fair to keep holding these reservations if I'm pretty sure I'm not going.
I must have missed the advisory. Although we aren’t doing anything crazy after our trip to FL but running a few errands with masks on.

I also just ate too many oreos and doritos (probably shouldn't buy in bulk even in individual sized packages). I hope at some point in life I start eating like a grown up (at least I haven't had poptarts in a few months).
You’re not alone. I ask myself weekly when I’m going to start eating like an adult. 😂

I rejoined Sam's using the Valpak mailer. I thought you paid for membership then got $45 to spend but I wasn't charged for my membership. I'm not going to complain but I'm confused. Lol I had pop tarts right after dinner. Treat yo self. I had a rough day.

I was told to look online for a free PDF copy for DS’s private school books. If not, I can shell out lots of $s since Chemistry and History books are expensive.

You have to buy your high school text books? I guess I’m just used to public school. Didn’t realize private school doesn’t provide books? That seems crazy for what you are paying.

In elementary/middle we didn't have to buy the books, but everyone took the same classes for the most part. In HS, we had to purchase them separately but it made sense since the costs varied greatly from class to class, year to year, etc. Plus I got a much better deal most of the time than I would have through the school. ;)

Just got home at midnight from our wdw trip. We had 8 amazing park days. Only one day felt crowded. All others were great with lowest crowds I’ve ever seen. Had times we would be walking in MK and look around and only see CMs. It was crazy great but I’m not sure Disney can sustain staying open if crowds stay this low.

I have done well buying used textbooks on ebay. Also, sometimes you can find opensource books free online. Or, sometimes I have borrowed textbooks through our library system and they'll have a code in the front that allows you to access an online version of the book. So, when you return the physical book you can still use the online one.

Thank you! I’ll check both of those sites. I’d love to avoid paying $150 for a book.

DD is in a private school but this is the first textbook that I’ve had to buy and its for an AP class. Its furrther complicated by the fact that she wants the physical book As opposed to an e-text, she likes to make notations in the book.🙄

I will check ebay, hadn’t thought about the library. Thanks for bringing this up.
