I need people to chime in on whether it's worth it haha. I really wanted to do VAH this past summer and even want so far as to price some flights, but I guess I just never paid attention to the actual cost of the tickets. I do really like the villains theme and DH is a biiiiig Hercules fan, so I feel like he would enjoy the stage show. It would have to be something that's less crowded than the parties though, because both MNSSHP and MVMCP were both PACKED and I'm not willing to shell out for that level of crowds again.
I know @afan went in August bc I just read her short review that was linked on the new VAH thread

I vote YES! I haven't been to WDW in years and have no plans to return but this...this might draw me in...my DD used to say the villains were "just misunderstood" and wanted to bring them home and show them enough love to change them. Sigh...she was really switched in the nursery. 🤣 She's going to be a social worker or a defense att'y, I just know it.

Just saw they will be doing Villains After Hours during our February Orlando dates. So tempted... but sweet fancy moses I did not realize how expensive the tickets are for that for basically five hours in the park. Not sure I can stomach that... I'll see how bad DH wants to do it.
I think crowds would be less than the parties. Is it still $25ish more than the normal AHs? That was my beef with it, and the reviews I read didn't seem like the 'villains' stuff was really worth it being priced more, it should have stayed the same cost. But personally the villains stuff doesn't interest me much so that part is not a draw for me.

Now y’all have me worrying with all this family boarding Southwest talk. PlanePrincess and I have found ourselves in the rare position of having booked a Southwest flight. It’s been a loooong time since either of us flew southwest or willingly in economy for that matter  We did pay for the early boarding thing but just booked it recently and are flying out in just over 2 weeks. This should be interesting.

It's probably going to come down to whether I want to go to HS and ride Rise of the Resistance and build a droid, or whether I want to see VAH haha.

Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but dd is a SW baby (May 4th). Every year on her birthday I tell her "May the 4th be with you":rotfl2:. At 17 she is so over it, but she expects it! The choice for us would be easy....HS all the way!

Unless DH tells me he reallyyyyy wants to go to VAH, it will probably be HS for me too. I regret not building a droid when we were there last month, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to drop $100 on that. Now that I'm home and still want one, I feel ok with getting one when I go back. Seeing the new Star Wars movie in December will probably sway me lol.

Would you like me to ask DHs opinion too? He'll say do both! Disney math! :teacher:

To be fair, I have enough CC offers for at least 10% off right now that I could get enough GCs to do both lol. But considering we are also going to BG and Universal, I really don't need to haha. I'm also trying to be mindful of the fact that I want to do a nicer stay at WDW in spring 2021, so I need to save for that.

Every December 26th dd and I go with my brother and his family to see a SW movie!

Lots of chatter on r/churning that you might as well keep it open for AAoA because there's no AF but that's just dumb. Closed accounts continue to age for some time and I have enough sock drawered cards.

Checking my understanding of AAoA here--if you have cards that are older than this card (which I'm guessing most people would, since this is a new card), doesn't it actually help to close it because the new card is actually bringing down the average?

I have some cards that are 20+ years old so I'm thinking that closing cards I opened a year or two ago would actually help with AAoA.

We thought the normal DAH was much better than the villains DAH. There seemed to be less people and since it's just rides, people don't congregate in the hub. Dh wasn't impressed with the stage show. I thought it was just okay. I enjoyed the dance party in front of the castle. Other than that the ride overlays really aren't enough for the extra price tag.

Yesterday when kicking around ideas for our BG trip, DH was suggesting we take off Fri and Mon, go Thurs night, do BG, SW... and then stay a night at Royal Pacific and do two days at Universal and fly home Tues morning 🤦‍♀️ I've created a monster.

Yes, this is the hotel! It just opened on October 25th (Maroon 5 opened the new concert venue).

@calypso726 if you are in town you and the Plane Princess should join us -- at least for a meal! It would be so much fun! Dd and I plan on arriving there before check-in time. We want to have time to explore the new 26,000 square foot shopping arcade and the pool area before we have dinner.

Oh wow, under normal circumstances we’d love to join you for dinner! However, we are in WDW the weekend of the 23rd. You have inspired me to go check out the new guitar hotel though!

AAoA is all accounts, not open accounts only. Every new account brings down your AAoA. My understanding is closed cards continue to age for several years after closing, so in a weird way they can help your AAoA recover after some time.

I should have added that part of DHs reasoning for his trip idea was because the Quick Queue passes for BG would be cheaper on Fri vs the weekend :rolleyes2

Okay I need some parking help from anyone who has parked at Port Canaveral. We kind of waited until the last minute and didn't realize how expensive it is to park at the actual port. I found a couple different options for off site parking, but I don't feel like I'm finding any great options. Do any of you have any experience with parking for a cruise???

That's too bad about the timing. I feel like we keep missing you by just a tiny bit. Last year in S. America / Antarctica and again next month! We live so close -- we should definitely get together! I will definitely post a review on the hotel. Plan on taking some fancy pictures with my new iPhone 11 max (gift from dh last week!).

Thanks for this. I think I will just go back to not worrying about AAoA (except to make sure my oldest cards don't get closed).

I'd suck it up and pay for parking at the port--it's so convenient. And the shuttles are a pain in my opinion. We've parked at hotels and the port and the port is totally worth it to me and I'm incredibly frugal.

ETA: I've always had an early PAT. I think yours is at 12:30 so maybe the shuttle will be okay. But when you get home, walking right to your car and driving home will be a lot less stressful than getting on a shuttle.
