Happy to see this this morning. I was wondering how I was going to get over to Staples this week to buy some fee free, but OM is much closer. Should hopefully be able to hit it every day.

Still need to hit Kroger more with my Surpass... I’m behind on the 15k for the free night. I didn’t want to buy a bunch of VGC and then just have them hanging out at home before we went to WDW, just in case something happened.

I use Grub Hub for Chick Fil A. I did realize when I picked up last week that it was $2 more for my order to order through grub hub. In other words, my credit was really only "saving" me $8. I'll do it once more but probably canceling Gold this month when my AF posts unless I get a decent retention offer.

I don’t know what I was thinking. I was all, yay I got flights to Osaka for only 5,000 UA miles. Sure it’s in economy but it’s only an hour. Now I have no lounge access and I’m waiting for my flight like peasant. Then to add insult to injury... after reading @SouthFayetteFan comment about updating the hotel thread and getting a slew of new reviews I burst out laughing. Not only am I waiting for my flight like a peasant but I think I just committed a cultural faux pas.

Just curious as to what made you fly to Osaka instead of the bullet train. I'm planning to go to Osaka too and saw the deals for the 5k United flights, but figured by the time I made it to the airport, waited for the flight, and then actually flew there that it would be about the same time as the bullet train. Just didn't know if I was missing something

I wish Grub Hub had Chik Fil A here. They just opened the first one last month and the line is still out the door and around the block.

I can say I'm firmly in the camp of never leaving home without my Amex Gold. I'll pay the fee, I get so many MR from restaurants and groceries that it's worth it to me without the credits.

I use CSR for restaurants (I’d rather have 3 UR / $ than 4 MR / $). And I guess I’ll switch to bce for groceries. Not worth $250/year to get 4 mr/ $ vs 3% back. But it’s such a pretty card!

Just checking my email and DD20 forwarded me one last night...the receipt from paying $390 registration fees for her next DCP. Problem is, she put it on her AU Disney visa card and I have 2 $5k MSRs I am working on right now.

I did two support tickets for my missing Dosh funds yesterday. I had alerts on my phone this morning that my money was credited and now pending. So I did end up getting my 5% from Sam's Club and Bucca di Beppo.

I just put a cruise on hold with Princess for Feb. 2021. I am waiting to see pricing for Disney before I commit but I can't believe the mouse will be cheaper and I think I'm leaning toward the Mexico itinerary on Princess anyway. We'll see - I'm anxious to see the pricing quotes over on the cruise board. This would be a surprise gift for DH.

Fun fact - apparently you can pay for a Princess cruise via PayPal... Chase Freedom category starting Tuesday!

Same here. Both on the ships and also looking at Greece.

We're doing a Greece cruise in October 21 on NCL. I booked just about the cheapest cabin possible for this one because it is over 700 days away and I figure I can watch prices and move up to a higher category when the fare drops, etc.

I kind of just decided to get heavily back into cruising I guess. We took two this year (DCL and RCCL) and will do another DCL in Feb. They end up being cheaper and less hassle.

On another note, I've been working through the "What Is Going On With Disney Parks Thread" over on the Disney Rumors board. Very illuminating. Worth a read - I've seen some of you over there already. Definitely check it out.

I'm excited too. The last couple times I had trips going on and missed out on the staples deals. OD is right across the street from Staples and I have 2 MSRs to work on. Just activated my serve card and requested the test deposits. Excited!

Can you get grubhub gift cards in store anywhere? For my order this month I did get one off Raise using Paypal with my Discover, leaving like $15 to go on my Gold card to trigger the credit.

Off topic book recommendation.

If any of you are fans of gone girl, girl on a train or other psychological thrillers I just finished Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris. It will make you angry but it was also really hard to put down. I highly recommend. Because I have a lot of friends I share books with that have been through some pretty rough stuff I just have to put a disclaimer out there that if you have been in a controlling or abusive relationship (in this case mental) this book may not be the best for you. Good Reads provides a pretty good summary of the book. I listened on audio (free on Overdrive from my library) and the narrator was really good.

I finished this last night (in one day, because I am a glutton for punishment and stayed up to finish because I had to know what happened!) I enjoyed it

Only thing I’m working on is another $6,500 on amex bbc. Have ten months to finish it. Will be applying for something new soon. Already completed seven msrs (5 business and 2 personal) in 2019.

Most of my disposable income goes towards travel, mostly cruises. The 3 points on travel is a big perk. In addition one of New Year's resolutions this year is going to be to cut down on the eating out. It's such an unnecessary drain on the budget. I also have the BCP which gives 6% back on groceries. I'm going to have to decide which cards I'm going to keep and use for everyday spend when I'm not working on a MSR.

We cut way back on this several months ago. It was embarrassing how much we spent eating out. It was so hard at first, but then I got in the routine of only going out once a week max and now I hardly miss it.
The hard part now is declining invites from friends to join them after hockey practice etc.
