LAX because there are more options.
SNA is so convenient to DL. We've gone into LAX and SNA and much prefer SNA. I know LAX has more options though. LGB is also convenient from what I've read, but we've never done that one.
My dad built our first computer from a kit (HeathKit--any other olds remember them?) when I was in 8th grade! I remember him typing the first Microsoft OS code into the computer so it would runDefinitely going to date myself on this one, but we got our first computer when I was in the 8th or 9th grade. Played Pac-man and Pong on the RadioShack TRS 80. Definitely very basic graphics. I just remember having to type code before and after each phrase to underline or bold. If you forgot to close out the code, the rest of the document would be underlined and bold.
Our very first AA flights (in March) were booked using a corporate travel agent. I created the accounts right before the flights were booked. Perhaps that's why?Do you know how you landed these? I signed up my kids for AA accounts and said they work/own my 2 different photography businesses. But I haven't gotten anything.
I flew into LAX. I got a nonstop flight from IAD to LAX last year on a saver fare for 12.5k per person on United last year I think.
As if work and our trip this weekend doesn't have me stressed out enough, now I have DH saying we need to change hotels due to Dorian. I haven't been following that. I'm just stressed that we haven't even booked FPs or made plans yet.
Bah. We are scheduled to fly in to Orlando Friday morning for a Universal trip staying at Cabana Bay. We fly out Monday evening and with Dorain everything is so much in flux. I am good with riding the storm out but getting home is the problem and getting DW and DS back to work and school on Tuesday. I have a one way car rental reserved Sunday to Tuesday just in case we need to drive back. Parks should be emptier though. I might get to ride Hagrids ride.
Hurricane Matthew altered our trip in 2016 so we just have bad luck with hurricanes i guess.
I totally get this, but I am sad because I did want to buy one and bring it home lol.
Yes saw this and hoping to get this as well. It seems our dates for May next year are a little off but I guess I have some time to try to make it work. Thanks
I am crossing my fingers and toes there won't be a huge influx on Tues/Wed now from people bumping their flights to just after the storm. Your post gives me hope. It was looking like a nice, quiet week before all this weather stuff happened. We just made FP 2 days ago and got 9, 10, 11 am time slots. Only things we couldn't get were FOP, SDD, and SDMT, of course.@disneymagicgirl your AoA deal is fantastic! Love it! It’ll make your dd so happy too!
Also sounds like you will be in the immediate ‘post Dorian’ crowds. We were at wdw until right before Irma hit. Had to get on an earlier flight to get out in time and after I heard how slow the parks were after Irma came through, I wished we’d stayed lol. The place was a ghost town for days. Even our last day before we left was really slow as people were already trying to get home and no one new was arriving.
Thank you! I am seriously considering this approach and I am just past a year for the DD. My fees should post on both cards 9/1. I just need to generate a CSP referral link and apply my mom a little after 9/5. Only 2 months from her CIP, but she has no other apps at all so I think 2 months in this case is safe for her with Chase.Different approach to PCing the Sapphire DD/MDD after a year: downgrade the CSR to CF/CFU; upgrade the CSP to CSR.
Tagging a few people who've done the Sapphire DD/MDD in the past year: @PolyRob, @disneedee, @smallsy (?), @bernina, @GZanta77, @Fischstick (?), @kayteekt, and anyone else I might have missed.
I am planning on flying into LAX! It will be my first trip to DLR and CA so I am excitedJust wondering when ones who are coming from the East coast to Anaheim, what airport do you fly into? This is for DL of course.
When we moved here people told us they start thinking about leaving if it’s a category 3 but most still stay even if it’s a 3. If it’s a 4 then most leave
I grew up on Texas gulf coast and most of my fam is still there. We never left for cat 3’s. Several of my family had devastating flooding from Harvey but that was a really unique storm.
Okay I’m getting nervous now for Dorian. They’re saying it could be a hurricane when it hits Florida and it looks like right now it’s coming straight for us. Since we have cats I don’t think we could just pick up and leave at the last second. We would need somewhere to stay that would allow cats
I would still call wholesale and add them only because you are technically allowed on DME without booking a reservation for it. It goes by resort confirmation number and guests listed.Soooo, my PLE deal at AofA is for 2 people, of course.
However, I was able to go in and make the DME booking and it let me add 2 kids and then I got a confirmation email back. So it seems DS9 will be able to get on DME without me adding him to the reservation.
Think that will suffice and I can just add him once I get to the front desk instead of having to call wholesale?
Good to know. Thanks!I would still call wholesale and add them only because you are technically allowed on DME without booking a reservation for it. It goes by resort confirmation number and guests listed.

Clickbait title, so I'll give you the TL;DR:
TSA tweeted they're banning the SWGE Coke bottles that look like “thermal detonators” from carry-on and checked bags. I'm guessing this applies even to empty bottles.
I am probably going to pass on purchasing one because I have not seen a Coke Zero version and for that price I am not settling for Diet Coke! If I did get one, I wouldn't want to chance having my bags pulled so I would probably go to a conference center and ship it back home with some other things.I totally get this, but I am sad because I did want to buy one and bring it home lol.
Do they allow cats though? I thought it was just dogsGo to WDW! AoA, Fort Wilderness, POR, and YC all allow pets for a fee. Disney also allows pets into any resort when evacuating.
I understand your DH's concern. I was just telling my family the other day when planning future trips that we need to book BC/YC and CR Atrium for WDW's 50th anniversary because it is early October and we could get hit by a storm. There are places to roam and eat rather than being stuck in just a room if we are staying inside main buildings. I closely followed Irma and thought I would go crazy. AKL, WL, BWI, CSR Tower, and GF RPC would also sufficeAs if work and our trip this weekend doesn't have me stressed out enough, now I have DH saying we need to change hotels due to Dorian. I haven't been following that. I'm just stressed that we haven't even booked FPs or made plans yet.
Where are you booked? As if work and our trip this weekend doesn't have me stressed out enough, now I have DH saying we need to change hotels due to Dorian. I haven't been following that. I'm just stressed that we haven't even booked FPs or made plans yet.
I’d agree with you 1000%. Just saying I grew up not running from cat 2’s. Most tend to be situations you can ride out at home. Back when Ike hit Houston, more people died in the evacuation than from the storm itself. Deciding to evacuate requires a lot of planning and time so that’s important to consider. However I’ve watched hurricanes long enough to know they can blow up at the last minute. Always be prepared with a plan in place! This is giving me a headache. Did I mention I was a meteorology undergrad?
I would really not recommend basing your decisions on the category of a storm. Every storm is unique and the Saffir-Simpson Scale is a bit outdated - unfortunately, we just don't have anything better right now.
Did you know Hurricane Katrina was a category 3 at landfall in Louisiana/Mississippi? Anyone who stayed behind was boned.
A landfalling category 5 hurricane is an extraordinarily rare weather event. In our recorded history, we can verify only 4 CONUS landfalling category 5 hurricanes. Those are definitely not the only ones worth evacuating.
I'm not saying to definitely evacuate for Dorian - I'm just encouraging everyone to have a plan in place every year and know what you will do and where you will go, and above all else listen to local authorities. They know flood levels, population density, etc better than anyone else.
Harvey was a unique storm indeed. The model runs for Harvey were essentially the outliers that are always discarded. Harvey turned out to be the outlier.
