Quick takeaway: Families who DVC together, stay together.

I have friends going through a divorce right now that have DVC and wondering what to do with it. My take away from their divorce is I am so glad we are poor, lol, because if we were ever to divorce I don't think we own anything worth fighting over. They have way too much to fight over.

So I’m pretty sure AMEX has caught on and is not giving points for gc purchases. Made some staples mcgc purchases, giftcard.com and mygiftcard plus on my Hilton biz and my ticker barely moved. damn you AMEX!!

We flew into CHS today for my grandma's 87th birthday surprise party tomorrow. Happy to report our flight was on time. Whoohoo! I was traumatized after my WDW travels last week.

The pilot flew us past the airport and right over the beach then looped back into the airport so we had an amazing tour of my beautiful home. Never happened before, but I loved it!

I can't explain how this happened, because DH was just saying that this has become too much work for him and we need to stop getting new cards (which I agreed to...) but he was just approved for a Hilton Biz. He must have applied during the 2 minutes I left the room to go get something. So now there's another Amex card we need to put monthly spend on, I guess.

Thank you! Your plane tour was beautiful!! We flew out over the Atlantic before coming back in to FLL for landing. Breathtakingly beautiful!!

I purchased Disney gift cards at Staples and Bed Bath combined with Amex offers on 7/19 and it looks like MRs posted for both of them on my personal Plat.

For all you Gossip Girl fans, if your ever in NYC take the Gossip Girl tour through viator. My oldest DD loves the show and we took the tour and I thought it was great and I’ve never even seen the show. It was fun to see where they filmed part of the show.

More Plastiq questions - When should I see support dollars post? Made a payment with DH's account yesterday and today got the email that it was sent. I am hoping there wasn't a time limit? I signed up over a month ago and just now getting around to using it. I thought the $500 FFD last time posted pretty fast when I did it, but was over a year ago, so not sure.. I don't see any on his account or mine.

2nd question- Didn't someone try to sign up kid at same address and it was a no go? Am I remembering that correctly? Thought I could sign up DD21 but for some reason thinking someone tried that and it didn't work.

Well, then, you have your answer. It’s not right for everyone. If I lived in Florida I might not want it either. I live in NY.

Right now we go so last minute. It’ll be like during the week when we decide to go. I’m not sure we would ever plan far enough in advance to benefit from dvc, at least not right now.

I live in Florida but what makes DVC irrelevant to me is not only the FL resident rates but more importantly the MTY rates...well, when I used to vacation at WDW, that is. The numbers never worked for us and now I'm relieved we never bought it because we would never use it and would be saddled with either reselling and/or the hassle of renting out. It's truly not for everyone and I sigh at our "near miss."

I think my thoughts are more along with yours at this point. I do think Dh and I want to branch out and see new places so right now dvc just doesn’t make sense for us

I got points for my staples Disney GC purchase but the only MS I’m doing on Amex right now is grocery MS. That’s been normal so far

I’m sorry I know I keep posting off topic things but I thought I would share this one. My BIL just had their baby girl. The mom was induced about a week ago and they knew beforehand that the baby would have heart problems. The baby ended up having surgery on Monday with three different procedures that they had never done at once before. They said she would have a 1 in 10 chance of surviving but she did it! She pulled through. She’s still in the hospital but it sounds like she’s gonna make it all the way through and should hopefully go home soon.

That’s great!! It is good the docs were prepared and knew what was coming. Several years ago, my cousin gave birth to a baby who had a pretty severe heart defect (hypo plastic left heart syndrome). The doctors didn’t detect this when she was pregnant so no one was prepared and they didn’t have her give birth at a facility that could handle it. The baby didn’t make it, even after several surgeries, and I really believe if they had just known ahead of time, things could have been different.
Glad your niece is doing well! Hope her recovery continues good.

I signed my daughter up for Plastiq and she is 20. Used the account to pay rent for her college apartment. I have also signed up as well as my DH, so 3 at the same address.
