For those that don't want to head to reddit - here's a couple of gems copied and pasted:

How does churning work exactly? // submitted 6 hours ago by andySticks18
I'm curious how people are churning checking accounts/ credit cards. Does this not hurt your credit? Are you having 5+ bank accounts open at one time? Does it hurt to close the accounts/cards after 90 days? I'd like to know how safely do this.

SouthFayetteFan
People are doing it by applying for them.
This hurts your credit’s feelings a lot. Very bad.
Yes I am having 5+ bank accounts open at one time. Even 6+. Sometimes 7+ but never 8+ because that too many.
As I said earlier today, I always cancel my cards after a week. I don't even meet the MSR any more. Churning isn't about the points for me anymore, it's about the high of the "you're approved" screen.
I would wear a helmet to do it safely. Knee pads and elbow pads are overkill though. Totally unnecessary. Make sure to buckle up!

Fantastic-Mister-Fox
Sometimes I fall out of my chair out of excitement so I wear elbow pads

I’d suggest wearing a condom too, to reduce your Bust Out risk.

And one more:

Repercussions of cancelling Amex Platinum within 12 months? // submitted 9 hours ago * by strygun
Hi all. I've received a targeted welcome offer for an Amex Platinum to receive 70,000 MR points after spending $5,000 in 3 months. I currently have the CSR and love it, and don't really intend to make the Amex Platinum my primary card.
However - my boyfriend is moving to Paris for 9 months, and I'd love to transfer the MR points over to Air France for a ticket. My issue is that I read in the fine print that if I cancel the account within 12 months, they "may" take away my points (and I imagine, somehow charge me for used MR points).
Two questions: a) is it worth it, and b) do they charge the $550 annual fee up front, or 12 months from now? If b, can I cancel before the fee and keep whatever points I've used?
Update: Per your advice, I found 100,000 MR welcome bonus on CardMatch and took it.

This is especially true with the Amex Plat! Amex overnights this ninja star of a card to you on a luxe wood block in beautiful packaging. There’s the real value! Screw spending $5k +$550 I don’t have to get some fake credit card points. Once you get the card, cancel the account before the annual fee is due. No money out of your pocket. Hold on to the card and packaging as long as you need to get your high. Then sell it all on eBay for $30. Easy profit!

That gives you just enough time to get that sweet metal.

Oh I just want to sniff it all in... I'm going into convulsions just thinking about it!

Did she have to get revaccinated? We were required to if titers were not adequate. Turns out all mine were fine, including for the chicken pox I got but the doctor thought wasn’t enough for immunity. OTOH I have been vaccinated for Hep B multiple times yet still show no immunity. It may be her immune system.
She has put the nursing program on hold for the time being b/c she's discovered she loves biology and may major in that instead. But if she pursues nursing, yes, she will have to get revaccinated. Her immune system is always struggling to keep up since she has a chronic illness. So, I'm not really surprised she doesn't have immunity even after being vaxed. They drew titers for MMR, Hep B, Varicella and something else (can't remember). She only showed immunity for MMR.

Those that fly AA..worth it to upgrade to Main Cabin Extra for extra legroom? We have the option for our Philly-LAX flight Thursday but not sure if its worth it for $81/seat. I have never flown more than 3 hours and this flight is 5 1/2. Looks to come with drinks and better boarding. It would be an exit row with just DW and I. Thoughts?
I upgraded our flights ORD-YVR. When checking, I noticed the price fluctuates. I booked ours as 2 one ways, so first found outbound for $34 pp. Used a cc with a travel credit. Then saw the price for the return flight go up to $90+. Kept watching and eventually it came down to $40 pp then went back up. I snagged it at $40 and used another card with travel credit. Even with the credits I’m cheap. It was nice to have extra room, especially for DH who is 6’2” but I wouldn’t pay more than $50 for sure. The drink is a nice idea but one of our flights was a.m. and I can’t drink that early. Lol. On the way back, DH took advantage of both the free alcohol in the lounge and on the flight.

That’s tough. I had a friend with lupus who was a peds nurse. She was only able to work a few years before quitting to do something else as she was always catching something and ended up sick most of the time.

That is awful and it's exactly what I worry would happen with my dd. She relapses sometimes just by getting a cold. I can't say I'm too sad that she's moved away from nursing. She'd make an excellent nurse but her health is just not that great and being around sick people all the time wouldn't be good, and her immune system definitely cannot take the hit of annual vaccines.

I fly AS, not AA, but I think the programs are pretty similar. If the flight is more than two hours I always upgrade. At 5'10" I am the short one in our family and I really appreciate the extra room. The drinks and early boarding are nice but definitely secondary to the legroom.

Am I hallucinating?

I have in my notes that the current highest SUB for the Citi AAdvantage card is 70,000.

I can't find that anywhere now. Best I am seeing is 60,000. Did it disappear or was I just confused to begin with?

I’ve been happy with Ally. No fees, can connect up to 20 accounts, transfers take 1-3 business days (they tell you how long when you set the transfer). They don’t offer a bonus so you can open without fear of losing a bonus down the road.
Ally’s rates went down to 2.10 :guilty:

Well if you want some more fun details:

You're 49th in the "positive score only" category. However if we go with the "raw" score (which includes downvotes) you move up to 45th (which means some of the people above you probably get downvoted more than you).

I'm at 10th in "positive" and 11th in "raw". What I find pretty cool about my stat is that I garnered 2,000+ karma on just 261 comments @ 7.9 karma per comment. (You are at a 4.8 per comment which is pretty darn good!)

Of course our friend Andy is in 3rd in both categories and also has an impressive 7.6 karma per comment (vs. the top 2 who are at 2.2 and 3.0 respectively.

I'd challenge people familiar with r/churning to guess who is on top of the karma pile...it may surprise you...It used to always be OJ but he's slid down to 4th now...

I know it was already answered, but pretty clear it would be Pizzy #1. He can be a jerk but he gives out a lot of good information, and he posts almost as much if not more than OJ.

I got the notice yesterday that my links were removed because my karma fell to 45, go figure. So close but I don't want to venture in there this week with the Purge.

Thanks for your input! I am going to upgrade. I am almost 6' so it will be nice to have the extra room on the longer flight. I'm sure DW will like the drinks...i'll surprise her tomorrow when we get to the airport.

Any advice here?

I have a CSP card. Referred a friend last week via link and it worked fine. Now my mom wants a referral. I can generate a link in a variety of ways but when I click on any of them, I get a message about “System issue, please try again later.” Have tried three browsers over two days.

I contacted Chase via secure message and they repeated unhelpful info about browsers and avenues to generate links. No system issues, they claim.

Has anyone else had this happen? Ideas? Thank you!!

Dh’s CIP3 and my employee card just got here!! We have license plates to get today and a termite bond tomorrow that’ll help with that MSR. I went back to check the time between his CIP2 and CIP3 and it was exactly 90 days. Idk how that happened. I actually didn’t even check before I applied because I for some reason thought it was 30 days.

His CSR is coming up on one year soon so we’ll probably book a refundable Disney hotel to double dip the travel credit. I haven’t looked at the freedom and FU to decide which one we’ll change it to. We won’t have a CSR anymore but I’m okay with that
That will mean you don't have the higher points value in the UR portal, correct?

That's what I've always done, but for some reason now it's like it has changed all of my 'saved household member card' to the same one in all my accounts. We each have a personal and 2 business accounts now thanks to Cippy cup and me not being consistent on middle initials. I needed to add a household member card for my newest CIP, it wouldn't let me do DHs CSR or my Freedom that I daisy chain with so I added DHs newest CIP. Now I'm stuck with DHs newest CIP in ALL 3 of my accounts :confused3 I'll give it a shot again tomorrow. Maybe finally call and at least merge my 2 biz accounts into one. Will go from there...
you have all your biz accts separate? I had thought with each CIP (or whatever) it would just add into your original biz acct....

@SouthFayetteFan posted Just recently that the support links for the CSP and CF aren’t working right now
