I was a little worried about your DH lol. He was like and you know each other HOW? haha My DH knows all about my crazy DIS board habit so he only thought I was a little weird when I jumped up to go talk to you. Though he was also perplexed on how I knew it was you. His coworker he was talking to may have thought it a little weird. lol It was great meeting you, hope you have a great rest of your vacation. (I forgot to ask, did you get your ocean view?)
Ha, yeah DH doesn’t really like social media and I am pretty sure he would consider this social media :) I just posted. We got “oceanfront” with a nice view of the tennis courts also.We did walk over to the Marriott to check it out since DH had pulled it up and they do have a nicer pool than the Sheraton and given the distance to the beach, we’ll be getting lots of pool time.

Great meeting you too! Enjoy St. Pete!

So.. do things like UR and AA points expire? I know actual mileage miles do (since I just got the "opportunity" to buy back some expired AA miles), but what about just the rewards before they're converted to anything?

Now see this sleeves me out for some reason. Eating someone else’s food? Nope. Shower curtain? Nope. My biggest skeeve is toilet flushed with lid up 🤢 Yep, slightly irrational Before we moved into current house, hired a cleaning service to do pre move in cleaning.

So I never really gave the lid up flush much thought... until the big Ebola outbreak a few years ago (incidentally it is bad in Africa again). It dawned on me that human matter is splashed everywhere during a flush.

My house has toilets in separate rooms... I still bought covers for the toothbrush heads so they didn't get an accidental "matter" splash.

I do not like to use public toilets for many reasons - one is that there is no lid to close while flushing.

I swear I'm not a serial killer guys. :o

I always close the lid before flushing. I read how far human 'stuff' is sent out with a flush and it was enough to wig me out completely. I also cannot stand public toilets, for numerous reasons, but especially the lack of a lid and the sometimes incessant flushing that you cannot control (aka: get away from fast enough) :crazy2:

Olympics tickets results came out yesterday! It took one hour to get in & see the results... I need the @amalone1013 emoji... :badpc::badpc::badpc:

We hit for the women's gymnastics final & the opening ceremony. DF should also be able to get baseball tickets from his work. Total loss for swimming, diving, tennis & the football (soccer) matches. I feel like I'm forgetting something, but whatever it was, we didn't win that either. Just as well because we are blowing most (if not all) of our ticket budget on those two events. I really hope we can get some affordable tennis tickets.

Saw Toy Story 4 tonight with DS18 and DD16. It’s fun that they still get excited about new Pixar movies. Me too! It’s amazing how they can tell pretty much the exact same story every time, and yet each time it’s hilarious and fun to watch. I also enjoy Randy Newman’s music. I told DD that and she said, isn’t he the guy that wrote the song about short people? Lol :rotfl2: Those lyrics wouldn’t fly today.

I bought tickets for this weekend! Can't wait to see it. IDK how I feel about Forky tho...

If you mean "AA points" like what you'd get from having the Citi cards, those are miles that automatically get credited to your account. They're subject to the same expiration rules as regular miles. For AA, all you have to do is move miles in or out once every 18 months.

UR don't expire as long as you have access to them.

My boys want to see it so bad but my dd19 and dd16 are pretty busy with work and dance (for the 16yo) all weekend and they DO NOT want us taking the boys without them. LOL, I also love how much my olders look forward to every new Pixar!!

Same about Forky. I'm sure we will grow to love him and be buying a Forky stuffy soon. Maybe :rotfl:

I loved Forky! My DD said on the way out that she wanted to make a Forky meme. She had an idea and wanted to make it before someone else did.

They do expire, but generally they expire due to inactivity on your account for a year or more. As long as you keep some “activity” on your account, i.e., adding points/miles to your account or spending/redeeming them, the expiration gets pushed out.

Various things count as activity depending on program, like flying on the airline or staying at that hotel brand, making redemptions, continuing to spend on the credit card (or family of cards) that earn you those points/miles so that new points/miles continue to post to your account, shopping through the reward program’s shopping portals that earn those points/miles on your online purchases, dining at that program’s dining program to earn points/miles when you eat out, or even taking online surveys.

It’s quite hard to have your points and miles expire unless you totally forget about them.

P.S. BIG warning! With the bank-issued points like Chase UR, you don’t want to close a card that is holding any or all of your points. You close that card, you’ll lose the points. Before you close a card that has points on it, transfer those points to another card that you aren’t planning to close. If you ever get sick of paying AFs, it’s a good idea to keep a no fee card like the CF so you can always have a UR card where you can move and park your points.

What?!?! I just read Country Bear is closing  Is this for real!?! This was Walt's last approved attraction before he died. What's next? Tiki Room? CoP?

ETA: Just read this could be 'fake news'. Phew!

I think it could be accurate that it is closing. There is a twitter handle going #SavetheJamboree and now also a website. The blogger that first broke news (Tom Corless) has been accurate in past. Disney is not denying. I agree way sad. It is classic! Disney management lately is not making friends...

Yeah, it was a rumor by a website that can no longer be shared here on the DIS. I will say it does seem like it could fit the land and theme if it is a marionette Woody's Roundup show. I could see it happening more than some other rumors out there.

:offtopic:
I know people have posted here about the Mickey waffle maker. Do you actually like it? I have 0 willpower and am considering getting one.

I’m not sure when we’ll get to see toy story 4. We’ve been so busy lately and Dh starts work Monday. We’ve been kind of behind on movies since we went to japan. We might have to wait for most of them to get to Redbox
