OMG, chatting with AMEX on my Delta SUB. Saying I have $12xx in qualifying charges, even though my last statement balance was over $5800. They say because I made that payment 4/18 and it's not due until 5/4 they don't count. Yet they say part of them count. I can't even explain this absurd conversation. They agree that property and income taxes made count toward the spend. GRRRRR. Between this and not being able to get online with Citi, it's an annoying churning day.
Think Citi will let me be DH?

We are back from NYC - I will try to do hotel reviews on the other thread when I have a minute. The short version is that The Lexington (Marriott Autograph Collection) is perfectly fine, and was reasonably priced. The Chatwal (Marriott Luxury Collection) is absolutely phenomenal, but pretty pricey. Worth the splurge this trip, but now I never want to stay anywhere else in NYC and it is hard to justify spending that many points (of any flavor) on a hotel room.
We were moderately spendy on the trip, but my dental work came in cheaper than expected, so I've still got some work to doon the MSR for my CIP. Have a plan to get there, though - spent yesterday evening at the emergency room with DH.
He's fine. He took a header on his bike yesterday afternoon (not moving fast, he was wearing a helmet). Banged up his face, shoulder and hand, and was feeling kinda dazed. All seemed ok, but a few hours later he had a kind of small seizure and passed out on the couch (scary - eyes rolled up, uncontrolled movements, not responsive for a couple of minutes). I had just called 911 when he came back to himself. I decided not have an ambulance come, but took him over to the emergency room right away. They checked him out - just a concussion, and he hasn't lost consciousness again. He's home today, pretty sore and his head hurts some, but he isn't nauseated anymore.
Also, my dental work was pretty painful, so they kept asking him if he needed anything for the pain, and he was saying "no, I'm fine" while I was sitting there going "noooooo, get some serious drugs and slip them to me!" We didn't get home until well after midnight, so I'm tired and my mouth still hurts like the dickens.
We have a high deductible insurance plan (with an HSA we can use to reimburse ourselves) so I'm figuring that last night was probably good for a good chunk of a MSR... always looking for the silver lining.

Haven't tried any in a while since this apparent "update" WM has been instituted.Any problems with Visa metabanks?
So here's something interesting. I signed up for the Choice Hotels complete two separate stays and receive enough points for a free one night stay before a stay in March. It said the promotion was ending on April 26, and of course my second stay was scheduled for April 27! I just figured such was life, and it was no big deal. Well, I logged in this morning and was surprised to find 8000 points in my account, where I previously had 790! Apparently that second stay counted for some reason! I'm not going to argue with it... Choice Hotels are crappy but we stay at them frequently for horse shows, so it'll help me out for sure!
There have been some reports of GCs not working at Walmart to load serve. I just went today and everything worked perfectly. I’m worried about losing this MS avenue.
2 WM's near me have received this "update" not allowing Serve to be reloaded with MCGC's. Apparently it still works to load BB cards with them. Dollar General and Family Dollar are still going strong in my neck of the woods.
Thanks everyone for the Dp's. I'm just starting with Serve and yesterday was my first attempt so I guess I'm not off to a good start. The WM I went to is definitely not allowing it. @Natgridenergy, since your neck of the woods is my neck of the woods, I'm hoping for success today at Family Dollar.I also have not had success with MCGCs for Serve at WM (FD and DG are nowhere close to me so I haven't tried there). But that's been a long-standing issue AFAIK, requiring the cancel button trick that works in some cases and not in others. I've read USB MCGCs autodrain without a pin, but that hasn't been my experience either. So much YMMV in MSing. Cashier dependent, store dependent, gc issuer dependent, etc.

Also for those interested - here’s what that user has done just 7 months into the game:
CIP (10/18), Amex Personal Plat (11/18), CIP (12/18), Amex Hilton Biz (1/19), Citi AA Biz (2/19), Amex Biz Gold (2/19), Amex Bonvoy Biz (2/19), CIP (2/19), Barclay AA Biz (3/19).Add another CIP to that list and you have 4 Chase biz cards in 7 months (all CIPs) plus 1 Amex personal, 3 Amex biz, a Barclays AA biz, and a Citi AA biz. 10 cards (9 biz) on 7 months. Definitely a nice run...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers! We say it all the time but I'm saying it again, this is the BEST group on the DIS! True kindest and love. Thankful I get to hang out with y'all!
@WVMomof3 She is coming up on finals which is why I need her to get past this ASAP! She also gave 2-weeks at her job a week ago after getting a new one that could be beneficial with her major. She's super excited to start her new one but again, need her healthy. As far as if she will ever not have this anymore, it's unlikely. You can get it into remission, which she has been close to, but it comes back out with any simple illness, stressful event, lack of sleep, too much Easter candy, etc. Her immune system just isn't strong enough to keep it away fully.
@Lain She has been doing SO good!! First major flare in about 18mos (last time was at WDW when I had to take her to urgent care). She's had little flares but those are a piece of cake comparatively.
@LuckyMamaInDE and @DrFacilier I'm sorry y'all have to know how awful this isHugs to yours who suffer too!
I applied for the personal, that's the only one with the elevated offer. I mentioned the biz version because typically biz and personal are the same offer (85k, annual 40k bonus), but the biz has a lower AF (and as such it's a better ongoing deal if you plan to keep it open).

Wow - I don't think I knew the CHATWAL was a Marriott property! That's one of the legendarily quintessential NYC hotels.
And glad everyone is okay!
Bike accidents are among my greatest nightmares (two of my kids ride and while I know they wear helmets, there's just too much that can go wrong that a helmet can only help so much). Very glad your DH is okay.
As DH was leaving the house he was putting on his helmet saying "I really hate wearing this thing, but I'm trying to model good behavior". Thank god he did - it could have been way worse. He used to bike to work regularly - that freaked me out a lot just because not that many people bike around here and drivers can be idiots.
Family Dollar and Dollar General are going well in my neck of the woods! @NatgridenergyThanks everyone for the Dp's. How many do you/can you do at once? I have $3200 worth to load.
