Amex SUBs (generally) don't post according to billing cycle.

With the exception of your first MR earning card, in which case, the points from which go pending but don't post until the close of your second statement, Amex SUBs usually post to that card's online account within 3-5 days of meeting MSR (when the charge that puts you over posts), and posts to the co-brand's member account about a day or two later, regardless when your statement closes.

Which is why I am bit concerned that my Delta hasn't posted, spend was met Friday. Usually my AMEX Subs post ASAP.

That does seem longer than usual, but I'd give it a few more days. Delays do happen. (And wasn't someone wondering about why their Saks credit was taking so long to reimburse recently?) I'm less concerned about the no pop up bonus denials now than a few months ago.

Your dd sounds like my cousin's dd (also an only child). She has never been into the things other kids her age are into. As a little girl, she was never into dolls, Barbie's or playing house. She reads WAY above her reading level so she's never reading the same books as other kids in her grade. Her parents aren't into Disney or anything very 'american' and prefer Japanese culture so the few movies she watches are Japanese anime. She's a super sweet girl, and my girls have gotten along well with her even though she is a couple years younger, but in general, she doesn't really have many friends. Thing is, she is completely ok with that. The idea that she would hang out with people she has nothing in common with just so she can say she has 'friends' would be a complete waste of time in her opinion lol.

Hope things improve for your dd as she settles into high school!

Thank you! Yep, your cousin's DD sounds pretty similar to mine. I sometimes wonder how much being an only child plays into being ok with not having many friends, although I suspect being an introvert is probably more of a factor. I consider myself an introvert, but DD is even more introverted than me. Torture for her is making small talk, but she would love to discuss string theory lol.

DoC has a link to the same 120k tiered offer, but with an additional $50 statement credit after your first purchase: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-chase-ihg-premier-up-to-120000-points/

Thanks very much. No time like the present - pulled the trigger and got instant approval. The credit line is weird, though. Its $xx,400.00 - not a round number. Very odd.

DH can use this one as his "every day" card until we get through the MSR on the CIP and the Brilliant. Gas/groceries/whatever else he happens to buy should get us close to $2k in 3 months. Then we can worry about the other $3k for the extra $40k points.

Our kids should hang out (and be mortified that their parents are trying to find them friends).

That's possible. Chase has typically done the 90 days since account open date, rather than funds deposit date, and it'd be the Tuesday following that. But maybe it was set for the 23rd in your case which would have missed the deadline for this week's posting and it'll show up on the 30th?

If I was doing my maths right the Biz checking accounts have been following that pattern so we're expecting hubby's on the 30th as well, since 60 days from account open is today. Oh poo, just realized we'd not be a good DP for that theory as he opened the account with the 1k required funds so it really has been sitting there for 60 days as of today. Fingers crossed for you anyway, at least you have the SM to refer back to.

Ok, I think I will wait until 4/30 and then send another SM. I did have delay with the 10,000 transfer from my other bank actually posting and asked for the match after it was there. Wondering if the date the funds actually became available delayed it OR Chase somehow pushed the date further back when they applied the new coupon?

Either way, I should still be eligible and am fairly new to Chase so I have nothing to hide regarding bank accounts when inquiring (I want that $300 to mentally cover some DAH activities) :rotfl:

Thank you!

So sorry for him :( Those kids are awful. I'm glad he is getting out of that situation.

OMG my arch-nemesis in elementary school was also the daughter of our GS troop leader & she used to tease me about Disney, call me a baby, "she still believes in Mickey Mouse & Santa" etc :lmao: We actually got to be pretty good friends in high school, though. Eventually she told me the reason she was mean to me when we were little was because she wanted to go to Disney World so much but her parents would never take her. They had taken her older siblings before she was born & hated it, so they never went again.
I hate to say it but I was typically the kid that wasn’t very nice. Although I got made fun of a lot for being a tom boy and for talking too much. I was teased about being a tom boy all the way through high school.

Yes. I just got my 20k points from blue business as soon as spend hit 3k. I haven't paid the bill yet.

Woo hoo! I just got a text that my BoA Biz Cash Rewards was approved! But when I log into my account, it's not there. Boo. Still, that's a good sign, and I've never gotten a text alert that I've been approved for a credit card before. Maybe opening that BoA checking account yesterday DID help haha!

So, to recap, I've gotten approved for 2 Biz MasterCards and DH for 1 Biz MasterCard in the past 2 weeks. My plans for Plastiq FFDs are well on their way.

I was really hoping when Disney released the summer promos that I'd see the point costs drop for AA miles but AA is still showing the same numbers :( There is a RO discount so I would think that would be reflected like it was before but not so far.
I've been watching this today also. It will be interesting to see if/when the AA site starts offering the Disney promo rates. If the AA rates remain high, then I don't think I will be using AA miles for Disney. Unless I have oodles of AA miles, which I might.

Is there a pay mortgage with Plastiq for dummies FAQ anywhere? Pretty sure I can use my Citi Biz and Plastiq to do a couple mortgage payments if I am reading things correctly.

I think it depends. I'm an only child so I learned to play by myself and grew my imagination because of it. I went to preschool for two years starting at age 3, would have friends over or go to their house. I was shy but got used to talking with adults because I was the youngest on both sides of the family until I was 10ish, then my dad's sister had her first of 2 kids. I had friends, some where just school friends and others outside. Starting in jr high, while most of my friends from then through high school were in the band I had other friends that were outside of that group.

Over the years I did learn to speak up, not care what others think of me etc, and it's not all from one thing. My mom for sure had a lot to do with that but so did my sorority which also continued my education of you need to be able to get along with people even when you don't like them. Working at a call center after graduation helped too. I learned to stay call when I was getting yelled at along with a bit of conflict resolution and being able to handle situations. Now that doesn't mean that once it's over I don't walk away and tear up, but no one likes getting yelled at, especially when the problem isn't your fault. And I keep this in mind when I deal with customer serivce people until they either stop/aren't listening to me or they are just not smart enough/care enough/have enough power to do anything about it, then I start to get stern, escalate etc.

I still don't have what I would consider a big group of friends. I have a lot of friends but not a lot that I'd call for x reason or that I'd do stuff with. But I also think as adults that's more the norm, you keep in touch but that's it. Sometimes it's just easier to do stuff alone :)

Nothing special required for mortgage payments when paying with a MasterCard. Make a payment like any other payment. Plastiq’s restrictions against mortgages are on Visa and Amex cards.

Yikes was just looking at frequent miler's blog and i see the topic of kids being in business classs has come up again.
Some nasty comments in there. I really didn't think this was too much of a thing but I remember my brother telling me
a couple weeks ago there was an angry passenger in business wanting the crying toddler moved to the back.o_O

My brother flies few times a month for business and said he has noticed lately more glares or words exchanged from other
business passengers when a baby/kid is sitting up there crying/unruly/ or even just talking lol.

I usually have sympathy because I was a baby once and im sure I was no picnic when traveling:teeth:

I'm kind of surprised at all the love for United here. Back when we had a toddler and they were the only option for nonstop flights to MCO and Maui and we traveled to both at least once a year they treated us so badly every time that we just hate the airline and go out of our way (including taking flights with stops now that we don't have a little one) to avoid flying with them. They wouldn't even let DH preboard (and this is with assigned seats) so he could belt in the carseat early so we didn't hold up the boarding line. So we would get on the plane and everyone would have to wait. It was awful. I can't even begin to describe how disloyal I am to that airline. We were spending tons of money to fly on these flights, 4 seats every time, and we treated like dirt. DD can fly on either United or AA to college, nonstop, and we have put her on AA every break for 4 solid years. Sorry for the rant but I really hate flying with them.
Our trip to China was like that. 12 hrs non stop in “Economy Plus” or whatever they called it 10 years ago. The flight back with a 1 ur old was awful. I was yelled at for asking for hot water for his bottle, they had no food for baby, forgot to serve 2 rows dinner and refused to come back and serve until they collected garbage from the rest of the plane. And yes we paid for a seat with upgrade for DS to fly in his car seat which we weren’t allowed to install before boarding either. We haven’t flown UA since.

Marriott was always good about this - and I'm glad it hasn't changed. They extended mine back in December. One of the keys here is that they will always extend it for one year from when you call. So don't call too early...wait to ask for the extension to get the full additional year :)
If you call more than a month before expiration they won’t extend it. They tell you to call back closer to expiration. BTDT

I am an only child & an introvert but not a shy person. I don't have a problem talking to people but I don't need or want to be around people all the time. As a kid I only had 2-3 close friends at any given time & that was enough for me because I just did not have the "people energy" to keep up with more than that. The rest of my friends were just "school friends" & we quickly lost touch over breaks and after graduation. I was probably in the middle of the social totem pole. Not popular enough to be cool but not unpopular enough to have angst about being left out.

My hobbies were Disney :p, reading, museums, Broadway. My friends & I spent sooooo many hours going to shows and waiting outside afterwards, trying to get autographs & pictures with various actors that we liked. We were also always out making short (& stupid) films. Those things seemed normal to me at the time but I came to realize they are not the typical pursuits of most teenagers & they only seemed normal because of a) location & b) the demographics of my classmates.

(Because I live in Japan, a lot of people think I grew up interested in anime, but the truth is I couldn't care less about anime, to this day. I wanted to go to Barcelona, but they stopped offering that program & Stockholm seemed cold, so I picked Japan and ended up loving it. That is the exciting story of how I ended up here.)

So, if you only have one child, be prepared for a nerd
