Dined at Ithaa this evening. Bucket list goal ... check

It was an awesome experience! It’s a set price and set menu. The only thing you choose was fish or meat for the main course. Prior to going down into the restaurant everyone is given a glass of champagne to toast. We arrived early and I asked politely if I could go in and takes some pictures while the restaurant was empty and they obliged my request. It is smaller than it appears in the travel magazine pictures. It’s still pretty amazing. After dinner, the chef comes to each table to ask what was the favorite course and if there was any course we didn’t care for too much. The attire for dinner is smart casual but you leave your shoes on the rack at the front door. Everyone dines barefoot which cuts down on the sand getting everywhere.

That is beautiful and a definite bucket list item. I'm not sure I could sit there for the whole dinner, it seems claustrophobic and I'm not usually like that. Do you walk down to the restaurant or how do you get there?

@calypso726 What fabulous pictures! The restaurant is a definite must for dd and I when we go! One year and counting.....

Is your beautiful turtle necklace from the Maldives? It looks so nice!

Quick question -- would someone with mild claustrophobia be able to eat there? What if the roof fell in (the fear is real)? What exactly is it (the roof) made of and how safe is it?

And NO WAY will I be going in the water with all those huge fish (sharks?) swimming around. Just not happening. Wise decision on your part!

Thank you! I recommend making reservations well before you arrive if possible. The restaurant only seats 14.

Yes, it is. I picked it up today to match the Mickey dress. Thank you.

I think so. The water is very clear even at night. I am claustrophobic but at no time did I feel confined, trapped or in need of air and space. I think if you can deal with the pre ride rooms at Haunted Mansion in WDW then you’d be fine as those rooms feel more confining. The acrylic is reinforced and 5 inches thick if memory serves and was imported from the USA. It was built in 2004 and seems to be in great shape.

I did have my own random panic though about the ceiling cracking and the sharks getting inside. I immediately realized I could run back upstairs and away from the sharks and calmed down.

I’m quite happy looking at the ocean from the plunge pool in the bungalow.

Think I read AF refunded if you cancel, but not if you PC. Made a mental note to look into it more when it gets closer to my card anniversary.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna message on DHs Arrival Plus account to downgrade it to the no fee version after the Cap one fiasco :) I'm hoping to find a use for the $200ish miles on his account so I can close and attempt to churn.
My favorite is when somebody has to complete trash your plan: “UGH I could never stay at All Stars with those tiny rooms and terrible pools! We’re a deluxe only family.” Seriously - did you need to say it THAT way?? Couldn’t you just say that your preference is to stay at a deluxe, or better yet, say NOTHING at all!

Just fyi, gotta call Barclay to PC a card :(

DW's annual fee posted on her Amex (rose) Gold. Still the old fee of $195. I was on the fence about keeping this - getting another year at the lower AF is nice, and we use the $10 credit every month (we are bad about ordering out, so we'd still do this even if we didn't have the card).

I called Amex with my best DW impression and they offered 10,000 MR after $1,500 spend in 90 days to keep the card open. That's $125 to DW's Schwab card, so a net fee of $70 - that's a deal. I'll keep it for that.

So I posted a few days ago about what card to get. I got a 7-10 day notification from Chase over the weekend. Today I called Chase and got approved for the CIP!!! I had no idea I could even get a business card.

Thanks everyone and especially @SouthFayetteFan for your guidance.

Now I’ve gotta start thinking about my next business card!

There are 2 islands and you can walk from one to the other or take the courtesy boat that runs back and forth until midnight. The restaurant is on the main island.

The restaurant entrance is the bungalow in the background of this photo. Where you dine is where the buoys are to the right of the bungalow 5 meters down. You enter the bungalow and leave your shoes on the rack inside.

The interior looks like this. The bathroom is located on this level.

To get to the restaurant you go down this staircase

This will lead you to the restaurant under the water. You can see it from above the water when you are standing in front of the bungalow. Here is what it looks like from above during the day and the evening. In the day shot you can make out the tables even though the lamps aren’t on like they are in the night picture.

Thanks! I found the agua de coco website and they have so many cute Disney themed prints, I want them all. But the whole site is in Portuguese and it doesn't seem like they handle international orders/shipping...boo.

Oh no! Boo! Maybe a different store that carries their merchandise might have them. Hope you find it.

I don’t think i can do it. Hurts too much. I’ll just pay cash for Disney with discounted gc and use UR for other trips. Or to add to my southwest rr to get to Disney.
Or transfer them for a sweet hyatt redemption...

Decided to go with DW's CIP#2 and hold off on the train. App just submitted. Not instantly approved. Calling the status line instantly transfers to a rep. Bad sign? Going to just sit tight and let it process.

I went ahead and applied for CIP #2 with a referral from DH. Got the "need to review a little longer". Fingers crossed for some pixie dust.
Hoping the best for the two of you, I got approved for CIP #2 today. I was not instantly approved either, but only took a day for the status to change. For my other 2 chase bus cards it has taken 3-5 bus days for me to get approved. Already planning the use for these points.

So I finally broke down today and cashed in my URs (over 180K of them). It was truly painful to click the confirmation button. :( Why is it so hard to let this go????
I still haven’t let go yet. I have almost 800k and I just stare at them and hope Disney will come back. Eventually I’ll come to terms with it.
