So as I was talking to the director of my DD's new daycare yesterday, I was asking her if I could change cc's easily as I have different spends to meet/points to collect. She said yes, and then asked me if I have a Capital One Venture. I said no and she proceeded to tell me I'm missing out on "the best card out there" and how she gets 2% back on everything. I tried to explain about sign up bonuses and how I have different cards for different categories that get me better than 2%, and her response was "but this is 2% back on EVERYTHING". I gave up and said I'd look into it, lol.

I run into people all the time who try to talk me into their 2% back on everything card. I just nod nicely and assure them it sounds like a great card lol. And it is a good card for people who only want to use one card...

This is interesting. He accidentally used a link for a second AA biz that also had 24 month language. He met the spend anyways and the bonus points posted.

Have you eaten at 1900 pf? The mad hatter is so funny there. He saw a little girl using a knife across the restaurant and yelled, “she’s got a knife!!!” really loud to everyone

We have not done 1900 yet. It's on my list to try though. We aren't generally big on TS meals on our trips and we are truly blowing and going the entire time we are there. I usually don't schedule more than 1 or 2 for a full week stay, if I schedule any at all. This trip we are actually planning 2 "down" days to enjoy our resort and DS a bit more so I have Bon Voyage Breakfast and 'Ohana dinner scheduled on our non-park days.....even though I know we'll probably still end up at the park at some point on both of those days.

All the time!!! This is actually something I hear from my inlaws frequently. I just nod in agreement and move on.

Question please! How are you getting 80k AA miles? Was your mailer 75k AA pts plus spend? My mailer was 65k AA points/$4k spend. Not sure if I should ask to be matched to a higher offer?

I went ahead and applied for CIP #2 with a referral from DH. Got the "need to review a little longer". Fingers crossed for some pixie dust.

In other news, I got DH's points refunded today for our cancelled excursion. Feels good to see those points back in his account.

That's why I thought it would go away! I don't even care anymore lol. If I'd found the chat option originally I would have pushed harder, but DH is busy at work today so I'm just glad it's gone now.

Decided to go with DW's CIP#2 and hold off on the train. App just submitted. Not instantly approved. Calling the status line instantly transfers to a rep. Bad sign? Going to just sit tight and let it process.

I had that happen with my SW Biz card, though this was 2017 and my first Chase biz. I think I just gave up and called again the next day and then it was the normal recorded status update.

Think I read AF refunded if you cancel, but not if you PC. Made a mental note to look into it more when it gets closer to my card anniversary.

Quick question -- would someone with mild claustrophobia be able to eat there? What if the roof fell in (the fear is real)? What exactly is it (the roof) made of and how safe is it?

Yeah 75k + 5k base. I typically reflect the base pts in when I talk about an offer so you can calculate total return.

You can try to get matched for 10k more. Worst that can happen is a “no”.

Thanks, yeah will definitely try if I ever can get my online access set up! Currently on the phone with Citi, I'm on my second rep who is checking with his supervisor as to why I can't link my new card in to my existing log in.

At least I'm at home watching basketball while trying to get this all figured out!

Yep - that’s the one we are all hitting up and then matching for 20k more points.

You can use the credit on a gift card and if you don’t have a use for the GC you can sell it on Raise or another reseller and get about 80% of the card value in cash

Thank you! I used the last batch of AA gcs for our flights from DC to MIA for our April trip (first batch was credited on my Hilton Aspire, second batch wasn't -- after they caught on I guess). I'm sure I will be able to find a use for the new ones at some point since we have a few college visits that need to be done before November.

I think I will be applying for the new card AA card tonight! I can put my travel insurance for our pending trip to Japan on it and that will take care of almost half of the $2k MSR.
