I can’t stand when people say ohana’s. It’s literally called ohana. Why are you adding an ‘s?

Yes!!! And what you do you do when they type O'Hana's? I just want to yell out, "It's NOT an Irish Pub!" :rotfl:

Ughhh yes. It's actually 'Ohana and it drives me insane when people misplace the apostrophe and write O' hana!

Ok well @Natgridenergy and everybody else who cares...

It DOES NOT appear like you can add tickets and dining to a hotel only with AA miles. AA Vacations requires a car or flight. The car HAS to match the dates of your stay. I also don't believe the Hotel Only side will let you add to it.

@trstno1 - any chance you could do a little more reconnaissance for us on this? I know you have an existing AA hotel stay. Can you call some support number and see if you can add dining or tickets? I also wonder what would happen if you called Disney and tried to add dining - they'd probably say your reservation is tied to a travel agent I guess...

EDIT: You could also do some sort of STRANGE throwaway room strategy here but I honestly don't think it's worth the potential hassles. You could book the cheapest Kissimmee hotel and rental car for 1 night and add Disney tickets. It says they issue tickets 35 days in advance so you'd actually need to book this room for a month or prior to your actual expected stay to take advantage of 60 day FP on the dates of your actual stay. But now you're throwing away 10,000 or more AA Miles and who knows what happens when you never checkin at the hotel OR pickup your rental car. You could pay a little more miles and do the throwaway room at a Disney resort - but again this is all sounding way too complicated.
I see you are already trying to work out other strategies. I think you are correct about this strategy, though. I tried to add a Caring for Giants tour to this hotel reservation, and I was unsuccessful. They cannot look up the room reservation. I will call tomorrow and ask if it is possible to add dining, and I'll report back.

I want my husband to apply for the Amex business bonvoy card since we use Marriott all the time and the card won't go against his 5/24. He has received an email to apply for it but since I got the same card less then a month ago, I wanted to know if when he applies for the card if he can have the same "business" as me??? Our cleaning business that I do for family that makes only $1K a year. Would he be allowed to use the same one when applying? Also, can I get some kind of extra points for recommending him? Will I need to put that info on the online application when I apply for the card for him. We are re-doing our basement and will probably spending a minimum of $4K within the next month, so it's a good time to get it.

Anyone?

Thanks!! I’d be surprised if you can do anything with that reservation BUT I appreciate you taking the time to prove that!

It does seem that the best strategy right now to add tickets or dining is to eat the cost of a car rental (IF car rentals are fairly inexpensive for your dates). This strategy will likely work better in slow periods when rental cars are inexpensive. What I don’t know yet is what happens when you don’t pickup your car? Since you can virtually earn infinite AA miles currently, it’s not actually a terrible use of miles from that perspective.

Actually, it’s quite common to hear the addition of a possessive to the name of a location in Hawaii. So, you’ll hear “Let’s go to Costco’s,” or “Let’s go Zippy’s” (which actually has a possessive in its name), similar to how one would say, “Let’s go [to] Auntie’s [Beach House].”

Yinzers in Pittsburgh like to go dahn giant eagles or aldis and buy some groceries.

Dh made it and is at his hotel. He said it’s right next to universal. I know it’s a Hilton hotel because he got a cookie checking in and said he’s on the Hilton honors floor. He also said he added my honors number to his reservation after the office booked it for him. He said everyone he’s encountered has been kind of rude but he’s used to midwest courtesy. I’m jealous of his warm weather!
Sounds like the doubletree that’s been mentioned a lot here.

...but it isn’t warm, so don’t be jealous. Annoyingly chilly. I was cold tonight with my Patagonia better sweater on. At least it never did rain today.

Are the CIP and CIC still coding 3x and 5x, respectively, on Gyft.com?

@Alexle2007 reported on 3/11 that Gyft was still coding as 5x on the CIC.

I haven’t seen any recent negative DPs, but the shoe could drop at any time and we wouldn’t know until the transactions post ~2 days later.

Spreadsheet down

We had a beautiful, sunny, 70° weekend here in San Francisco, but our entire family was knocked out and bedridden by some nasty bug my kiddo brought home from school. I’ve been nursing my two ladies while self-medicating to keep my headache and sore throat at bay. Not at 100%.
