The SPG Amex business card offered a bonus of 100,000 points last spring/fall (didn't see at the time but now looking into having husband apply). Any chance this amount of bonus points will reappear or was this amount just to launch the merger between starwood and marriott? Right now there is a 75,000 bonus sign-up, just wondering if it might be worth it to wait a few months.

No need to wait a few months, just until Wednesday (2/13). :)

We have 3.5 cats. I say that because one belongs to my daughter and when she moves out it is going with her. Her first cat adopted me when she went off to college and he's not leaving. No one comes between me and Max, who I affectionately call Marie because he's white, fluffy and a total princess. We actually just got a new one a week ago, while the crew is fine with her now, little Luna Lovegood still in hiding and nervous. I can totally see us getting another when my daughter moves out. Cats are so easy, but then I'm not the one that scoops the litter box lol

So I sent them a pm on twitter and they basically said there wasn’t anything they could do past sending the luggage to our house. They were acting like they were doing such a service by returning my luggage to me.

Dh mentioned them on twitter publicly explaining the situation and they gave each of us a $50 voucher. So apparently they don’t like being called out in public

glad they gave you something. I always email or call when something has happened. We have always gotten $100 each. They have lost our bags a few times but typically get them within a day or two. This past flight they delayed our fight due to routine maintenance and then we switched to a new flight that took off late due to their error. I had emailed them bc the pilot was saying things like if I'm qualified to be your pilot and some other things. People around me were starting to panic. I had contacting them to let them know of the situation and it could have been prevented if the pilot didn't say any of these things. They sent $100 for letting them know.

Our two cats do that...pile into one tiny cat bed. Nap buddies!

And as said before when we go out of town it is no worries; just have someone come by every couple days.

Our cats won't do anything but hiss at each other! One is a Persian - she won't have anything to do with my rescue kitty that I took from the woods at work almost 5 years ago!

And, he can't be left alone for more than a day as he will gorge on the food and throw up so all Disney trips require a cat sitter. I've had other cats and was able to leave food and water and someone checking in every few days. This one has also had the 'crystals' problem or had it in the past before vet and new food.

Also, the litter box has to be kept pristine or they won't use it. So, I've devised a system. I've tried every kind of box, self cleaning etc - useless! But, now I have a large and shallow plastic litter box from Petco plus inside it I have a disposable cardboard litter box from Petco. I then cover the whole thing with a plastic liner that Petco sells and then add some litter. Every 3 days or so I pick up the plastic liner and litter and dispose of it. I then replace with a new liner and litter - fresh start litter - 10.50 for 40lbs from Costco. This keeps odor to a minimum and somehow the cardboard litter box stays clean, and because the liner is like a garbage bag with a pull string, I don't really have any contact with the litter and the box itself is still clean. I get the huge puppy pads from Chewy to put under my litter pan, for the litter that gets out, but that is minimal with these two cats.

I tried my system with my daughters cats and they tore it up, but it was still better than just the pan with litter. They are also much bigger cats than mine.

It looks like I'll be under 5/24 at the end of May. That's honestly closer than I expected so that's the plan for now. I see a CSR in my future.

I have full on laryngitis now. At least the lymph node in my throat isn't the size of a walnut now. I'm so glad it is weekend and I can go back to bed!

And @tink70 and @WVMomof3 - my son accidentally started dog sitting a few years ago when one of the doctors from Walter Reed where he works got a new puppy. He was visiting with her at her house and was just loving the puppy. She needed to go out of town for a weekend and he volunteered or was asked to stay at her house and watch the puppy. He's done it ever since each time she leaves for a week/weekend. This has spread to some of the other doctors/staff with pets and he does it for them also when he can. It's become his side hustle, so to speak. He's in great demand at the hospital. This also worked well when he gave up his apartment after the room mate moved and he started living with his sister for a while - he was almost never at his sister's house as he was 'working' many nights dog sitting. Now he is moving back to a one bedroom apartment in the same building he used to live in - he'd been waiting for the one he wanted to come available and it opens up April 1. Great location right by the hospital, with free (included) parking and he can walk to work, take the bus or drive as he gets parking at the hospital also. The other plus is his girlfriend lives about 5 minutes away from this building.

Everyone who was considering the residence inn and spring hills suites Charleston Riverview for 7 night certs, it is bumping to cat 5...book now if you are really interested.

ETA: I just made a ressie for 4th of July week in case. Don't have to twist my arm to get me to spend a week in chs and I don't feel confident I will be able to upgrade my cert. I am still going to try though, and if I am successful probably use it for swolphin.
I thought Swolphin was cat 5?

I was looking for new shoes for DS9 and LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!

Ok, so he totally refused them, but I have a pair on the way for myself! Best.shoe.ever.
so cute.....I'm so close to that biggest big kid size I may try a pair too...I know nothing of asics sneakers, the only pair I wear lately is my NB (old disney marathon style) and they're wearing out, do these have a big arch for support?

Ugh...the release of the kids school calendar for next year is wreaking havoc on my Italy plans. They normally have off the week AFTER Easter. At least they have the past 7 years. Now they will be off the week before Easter like a majority of school districts in NJ. Had to change dates for our Airbnb. Hope our host doesn’t give us problems.

Also things will likely be way more expensive and crowded before Easter. Can you imagine what the Vatican will be like? Ugh.

To all parents traveling with kids, go check the 2019-2020 school calendars. Most are released by now.

Those of us without kids want to know also so that we can book the quieter weeks! Although after next fall my first grand will be in preschool, so there goes my freedom to travel with them in slow times.

Both Airbnb hosts changed our dates no problem..yay! Now I can book our flights with firm dates once they are released in May.

Yeah makes sense! I’d like to go during quieter times too, but having a middle schooler who is on principals honor roll each semester makes it incredibly difficult to miss any more than a few days of school each year. She doesn’t want to fall too far behind. So, unfortunately we have to go during expensive periods now.

We're watching BILs dogs tonight... and I'm super pumped because they don't have to go in their kennel at night anymore and that means they can sleep with ussssss!!! :cool1: :rotfl2: Yes, I probably sound like a weirdo but they are cuddle monsters. Also, our family dog slept with me from age 12 until I went to college, and then whenever I was home from college until she passed away. I miss that feeling :sad1: ILs dogs will usually only stay with you so long before they get hot and leave.
my little dog would like to be adopted by you....( like my animals, just not on me....):rotfl2:

Ha, I wish. We are lucky to get our calendar before summer starts. I think the last few years it may have been august before it was released. They would tell us first day of school, but that was it. No matter, we don't get a spring break anymore anyway so really no planning around school holidays. We get the Thursday/Friday and Monday/Tuesday around Easter, but only if no snow days to make up. I think this year will be like years past and we will only get Friday/Monday because we have had 2 snow days already. It is my last year of caring about the public school calendar coming out! Yay! Only date I care to see on it is graduation.

About to apply for a CIP but ran into a snag... we’re currently renting about a mile from our current residence since we’re remodeling and we have our mail forwarded. I’m hesitant to put our primary address since we’re not there and I’m not sure if there would be an issue with the forwarding (DH’s W2 was actually returned to HR because the house was determined to be “vacant”). We’ve also been having mail/package theft issues in our neighborhood lately. Then again, I’m hesitant to put our rental address since we’ll only be here until mid-late summer. I guess it should be ok to do that as long as I remember to go in and change it when we move back. Thoughts?

Changing your address probably won’t be an issue mail-wise (ie using your rental address) however it could cause you an issue with verification as that address may not be on your credit report or tied to your name in some verifiable way.

I’d go with the primary address and figure out how to get it somehow. Can you put a hold on your mail and pick it up at the post office maybe? I’d figure something out because I’d hate to wait on those sweet 80k ultimate rewards LOL!

You may have to submit proof of the rental address since it’s probably not on your credit report

I would use your primary address, then have your mail held at the post office and pick it weekly or more often
