I know it's nothing compared to what some of you get but it's pretty much shut everything down around here. I live on a main road that's one of the first to get plowed because of the fire station down the street and the bus routes and about 2 miles down the road they've closed the hill. They can't keep up because it's still snowing and it's windy. Our porch and deck are both covered and both have snow where they don't normally have it. It was supposed to be a trace to 4" when they first predicted it, I think it's over 4 by now but it's hard to say because of the wind. Even the freeways look bad and people are stupid and drive anyway. On the plus side it crunched really loudly when I went down the steps so if I was a little kid I'd be thrilled at the snowman and snowballs I could make :) For me it's too :cold: with the wind. Plus it's more fun watching the news showing the people in prius's etc trying to drive up and down the hills in Seattle and sliding all over :rotfl2::car: I'll be back to catch up from last night in a bit after some sweeping outside.

How exactly do I go about changing my Southwest flight if the points have dropped? The flights have dropped about 500 points each, which would be 3000 points back since I booked six tickets for my trip. Do I just do a change flight? Does it change all the tickets at once?
I would call SWA and have them remove how ever many flights are available at a lower cost. then rebook them online using the travel funds. This way if it goes lower again you can just do it yourself without calling in. once they change it with calling in you have to call in from then on.

OK, just finally registered for Informed Delivery. Will I see everything for the address or just the mail that has my name on it?

Could you ever see the Amex or Chase offers get taxed?

Yes, but it'd take a big change to the IRS guidelines for what's considered a rebate. AFAIK right now there's no real definitions in place other than money back after making a purchase, so getting a $100 rebate from the manufacturer after buying a washing machine is a rebate or getting something for free like pay $45 for this Sam's membership and we'll give you $45 back, but also getting a $50 rebate from Swagbucks for buying $10 razor blades also seems to fall into the same definition. If the IRS ever decided to define what constitutes a rebate specifically, or just eliminates it entirely (which is highly unlikely), then some offers could be considered taxable. Although I suspect the offers would change to fall within that definition to avoid the reporting headache. So I could see it but I push it into the "highly improbable" category. Rebates make businesses money so I sense we're good for a while with that.

If you call SW they can likely assist in splitting the reservations so you can take advantage. I’m not sure it will be worth your time and effort but it should be possible. Out of old habits, I typically book each person and leg separately with SW to allow for ultimate rebooking flexibility in instances like this (just a tip going forward).

If I'm just doing it for two we always wind up within a couple numbers of each other, but for more I get at least 2 people involved and simultaneously checkin with multiple tabs/windows ready to go :)
This is what I do as well. I split into each person and leg. Easier to change and right now I have one person who may or may not come on my Jul trip. figured it would be much easier to just cancel that one instead of calling and trying to figure that out. All are on points so will just get the points back if there are any no-shows. For check-in, I am the only one who does that. So we are sometimes 1 or 2 numbers off. I just usually go with the highest number (worse spot) and we all stand there. It is not going to be a problem if we are just a few numbers off. We've gotten to sit together every time.

I know it's nothing compared to what some of you get but it's pretty much shut everything down around here.
Looks pretty! We got about 4 inches on Friday right at morning rush hour. I made the wise choice to work from home. The roads were awful. Now today we are at 48 degrees and all the snow is gone!

On the churning front, I am about $500 away from MSR on my SW card. Already hit the SW Biz with property taxes in January. I'll probably miss the statement cut off this month but hit it next month and will have my CP. I don't need it until May so not concerned or in a rush.

I do have an MSR problem as in I feel like I need to always be working on one! Since I am so close to being done on SW, I went ahead and applied for the Delta AMEX I have been receiving mailers for. While the mailer says personal, once you get on the website page, there is a tab for business. So applied for the Gold Delta and APPROVED!! 50K miles after 2K spend in 3 mo; + another 25K miles after 1K spend in 6 mo for 75K total; $0 AF for first year; $50 statement credit on Delta in 1st 3 months. Does anyone know if the $50 statement credit can be used on a GC? Not sure I'll have another use in the 1st 3 months.

This is one of those speculative sign-ups. No firm plans but I have a redemption in mind next year when I rebook my Glacier trip I had to cancel last year.

I only made one recent purchase on my SPG Biz for a GC at staples with the 10% offer. No pop-up. I was worried I get a pop-up when I applied for the DELTA card but had some time to put spend on the card. Not sure if that is due to being a targeted mailer or not.

After these two MSRs are done, I'll have DH apply for a CIU. Nice to have a plan for the next few months.

We had a small amount on our drive yesterday and the DirectTV guy said he couldn't make it up our drive to install all of our new HDTV and DVR boxes. I think he just wanted to make sure he was home in time for the Super Bowl since we even said we would go out and clear it for him and he said he couldn't wait.

Does anyone know how to add passport info to SWA international reservations? They sent me an email but the links don't work.

We flew to Aruba on SW in October - I added our passport info over the phone with a rep for the trip there, and when we went to check in at 24 hours, we had to reenter it all over again. So for the flight home, we went into the reservation and added it online, and still had issues checking in. I think it is now saved in our RR accounts with our known traveler numbers.

I helped a fam member apply for CIP#2 just over two and a half weeks ago. Status line was 30 days and went 7-10 some time between wed and sat. She called recon this morning and after confirming address and that her ssn was her ein she was approved at a 9k CL. Long story short she screwed up her income so I thought for sure Chase had denied her for that but they never brought it up so she didn't. It's an odd DP 9k for a CIP but that's what the rep said, card is expedited on it's way. They didn't change any of her other CLs.

You will see everything that is "envelope size" regardless of name

You will also see packages that are coming at the bottom (they aren't scanned but are listed). Just a head's up though. Sometimes a piece is scanned and shows up on informed delivery but doesn't actually get delivered until the next day. I just keep the email until all pieces are accounted for.
