Do you need to call or SM for a retention offer? My 1 yr SW card anniversary is coming up and I had been planning on cancelling.
Call in, I haven't heard of anyone asking for a retention offer through SM. Interesting thought though
But I suspect they'd want you to call for that. There's been a bunch of DP's for people thinking about cancelling after the first year of getting either a half credit (either $34 or 35 statement credit for the Plus) or a full credit of the annual fee. What seemed to be a consistent factor is most didn't really put any spend on the card after MSR but I'm not sure what triggers the difference between half or full credit offers. Since we had the initial statement credit as part of the bonus we had decided in advance if they offered the half credit, he'd take it to get another years worth of anniversary points. Full credit would have been even better and we might have actually put some spend on the card in appreciation
I called in for a retention offer on my many years old SW Premier and no dice after 2 attempts. I did actually put spend on my card each year, not a lot but enough so I guess they figured I wasn't worthy somehow? IDK, but since it was many years old I'm eligible for the bonus again so Chase's plan to save the $50 or $100 on the retention offer is totally logical after they pay me 50-60k (or 110k!) RR bonus points to open a new card(s). Right?
Works for me though
It's a giant failing of the system in my book. BoA, Chase, and I think PNC uses the same system, in order to read anything you have to select it and once you select it it's added with no way to remove it.
and adding him as AU to my CSR allowed him his own PP card for less than him having his own CSR (which he did have once, but I canceled in 2017). I'm planning on canceling his Biz Plat in a few months, thus the desire to add him back as AU on my CSR so that he doesn't lose PP access. My CSR AF will post on 2/1 and after I pay it, I'll add him back as an AU.
I am seriously a chicken. Well, it all went through just fine, 2 in one purchase, and they guy didn't even ID me.
