@alryan i think you were looking into RCCL right? They released 2nd guest 1/2 off and kids sail free rates (must be under 12). That’s the deal we got last year[/QUOTE

Thank you so much for reminding me! I have been checking fares every few weeks and was so excited when I saw the kids sail free, thinking that I could book. Nope, almost exactly the same price as before. So I think I've checked prices now for 3 different sales, 30% off all guests, 60% off second guests, and now the 50% second guest and kids sail free and all $2400 something. So frustrating! When I first started checking prices maybe 6 months ago it was $2000, then up to $2100, and now it's been stuck at $2400. I know they are just points, but I don't want to use all my URs for a four night cruise. And right now I'm only at 185,000, with 50,000 coming when I'm done with my next MSR. So right now the plan is to upgrade my CSP to a CSR in June. At least that would save me 30,000 points. We'll see what the price is then. I do have my flights already with SW RR, so plan B would be Universal, since we didn't do that this spring break because wait times looked way too long for me. Thanks again for reminding me, wish me luck that in June it will be available for a good last minute deal :genie:

hitting MSR...that post made me:rotfl: I keep track of my payments on the cc I'm working on,easy way to know if you've gotten there yet....(except last week when I kept miscalculating on our WoH card, and now I have 3 $20 purchases to get over that line....)

@alryan
Remind me again. October? On the Harmony? Over 2k for 3 nights is a lot. Harmony has a November sailing that price out as $2300 for 4 (kids under 12) for 7 nights a. That’s a bummer all the prices are the same. I’m sure they just jack up the main price to get it that way. Must be a more popular time???
We did Universal last trip. Keep checking the URs on that too. We stayed at RPR over Prez weekend a very busy time. Express pass made it totally fine

We hear them at night a lot. They haven't been around as much lately because we've had coyotes close. I think we're also a target as it sounds like a lot of the neighbors put out traps and poison but my ILs would never do that. They haven't gotten much cat food lately but I guess the stray didn't come by to eat yesterday. They also pretty much ate one trash can lid so we pitched it. We spent most of last spring/summer with a branch sticking out of that trash can because the little ones would get in after trash day and not be able to get back out since there wasn't much in there. We figured it out when FIL threw a trash bag on one :scared: He seemed to be okay after we pushed the can over so he could get out, but FIL felt so bad lol. Then it became a regular occurrence, like every morning DH and I would go to leave and hear one stuck in the can, so we stuck a branch in so they'd be able to get out themselves. Now we just put less interesting things in the can without a lid and try not to put too interesting of stuff out until trash day...

Oh yes, there have been times when MIL has left her car windows open and they'd take a fast food bag off the passenger seat :scared1: That car had an electrical issue so sometimes the windows wouldn't work...

That's kind of funny, that's how we found out it was a whole family unit, when a couple of the young-ins got into an empty trash can. Said empty can was 4 feet off the ground on top of a wood box that happened to sit under our bathroom window. It was one of the few ways that we rotated keeping the little critters out. Well somehow the little guys got in there, don't know if it was on there own or joint effort but we noticed them all when big mama (or maybe it was papa) was balancing on the rim of the can chittering/squawking at the two babies in the can with papa(mama) on the ground looking on. I don't know how they got out but they were gone in the morning. I think they were trying a racoon ladder. I was young so I don't recall if that actually succeeded or if we found other solutions with the can. They are industrious little guys. Over the Hedge did not seem farfetched at all

Yes, October, good memory! My daughter will be in 8th grade and doesn't want to miss much school so I am limited to 10/19-10/25. Plus then we can't even do a whole week because we have to get back for a volleyball tournament. Oh, I miss the days when they all were homeschooled. I would look for a good deal and take our vacation then. Now between school and sports schedules it getting harder and harder to schedule vacations. So I'm looking at a 4 night on the Mariner or could go down to Miami same dates, 10/21-10/25, and that would be the Navigator of the Seas.

Well Dh took the offer and we are officially moving to Florida!!!

We’re tentatively planning on flying down the weekend after Easter and my parents might be going with. We’re able to get pretty cheap tickets to Orlando from our local airport.

We’ve started looking at houses and researching about the area more. It just doesn’t feel real yet. One really cool part of this is Dh will be working on Navy planes and my brother flies jets for the navy.

So awesome!!!! Congratulations!! :yay:

It's just what I do...don't judge :rotfl2:

Actually, in truth, I was pricing some stuff out for a response helping @wendow with some strategies for her August trip.
 Yes, this time was all my fault lol. I feel bad too cause I left you pricing and then went to say good night to my dd's and one wanted to have a late night chat. Well, as a mom of teens, you know that is when the best 'tea' is spilled so I laid on her floor and we talked for 45 mins. I was hoping you did go to bed then! Off to re-read your pm now.

Sometimes I just want to go back to doing nothing but homeschooling so we can enjoy traveling anytime! Those days are long gone for us as well though and I can't see a situation where we will ever be there again :(

Haha! Giving @Lain a run for his money with a spreadsheeet like memory!
With your daughter being 8th grade that probably jacks up the price too since I think cruises consider you an adult. My DS is 7th grade (13 in June) so we got this last one in as a child. And trust me he doesn’t nearly eat the value of an adult!!!!
Yes it gets harder with schedules etc. — at least using the points make it more palatable to pay inflated rates when you’re locked into certain dates.

LOL-my DD always wants to chat at the most inopportune times! They must have some radar that says "mom needs to leave/vomit/do something vitally important...institute chat sequence" or something!

I know, it makes me a little sad too, but I know kids grow up and things have to change. So thankful for all the memories, wouldn't change a thing!

:rotfl2:Thankfully, this dd has not tried to chat with me when I needed to vomit! She'd run for the hills if I even mentioned I might be feeling like that lol!

Have you checked out DCL during those dates out of San Diego? RCCL has some options too I believe. We’re kind of burnt out on Western Caribbean cruises but absolutely loved our Mexican Riviera cruise out of San Diego. Puerto Vallarta (day pass at all inclusive Hyatt) was amazing and I loved Mazatlan. It felt like being in Spain.
