So I looked at May 13th through May 17th at CBR in a Pirate room...
  • Disney's site says $1,254.38
  • useeaamiles.com is showing 154,600 miles (0.81cpp?)
  • aavacations.com is showing 141,100 miles (WITH a rental car)...
There are definitely strange inconsistencies here! I also noticed a similar issue with a mock trip booked in August too but didn't take down all the details.

My dates are Nov 2 - Nov 6 at Yacht Club in a double queen room.

useaamiles.com is 297,800 points
aavacations.com is 269,000 points WITH a car.

Still no park tickets or meal plans available.

Interesting. I hope this works for you! On the other hand, I have already added the Aspire to my one AmEx login so that trick isn't going to work for me.

I'm thinking I might just cancel the no-fee card soon to free up a spot for some other AmEx credit card (assuming I am not yet on the pop-up list) and then downgrade the Aspire after I've had it for a year.

You can remove a card from an online account: https://travelwithgrant.boardingare...xpress-credit-cards-from-your-online-account/ This works with open cards too. Then you'd just set up a new account for the removed card.

Has anyone actually moved their Fidelity money out from the bank bonus last year yet? I'm not even sure how to close a bank account or if I need to call them or what. I think I could also close my Chase accounts, but given that I've used those successfully for some DD on other accounts, I'm thinking maybe I'll leave them open.

I just pulled the money from Fidelity into Ally, so I'll be closing it soon. Not sure how to close but I'm guessing I'll have to call.

Chase is super easy - pull the money out, and when the transaction clears and your account shows $0, just send an SM asking to close. Simple as that.

Thanks! On second thought, maybe I'll leave the money in my Fidelity accounts and close Chase... more money back in my Ally account if I close Chase since I don't think there's a minimum amount required for the Fidelity accounts to stay open.

Obviously we already know that PNC CC funding is dead - but I can confirm it via a friend now too and can share an insider tidbit...

PNC has known they had a CC funding issue for over a year. Believe it or not, it took them 11+ months to shut it down. I have a real life churner friend who works in operations at PNC (their headquarters are here in Pittsburgh) and he told me they were looking at it a year ago. So for those that enjoyed the ride - just know that it could've been shut down far sooner.

Also for those wondering, I do not work at PNC, haha! They are terrible in my segment so I wouldn't even consider working there in the business banking revenue space. :)

This just happened to catch my eye where you accidentally miss posted it and chased it here. Can you elaborate on what this means? We bank with them and hold cards with them, so I am curious. Thanks in advance!

I still think any lounge is better than sitting at the gate (like a peasant), but I also think that I'm getting used to the nice ones and I'm getting picky about the "lesser" lounges. :snooty:

I am the opposite! I used to be a lounge lizard, but I am a bit of a picky (very healthy) eater, so I prefer to buy food that I will eat and sit at the gate. That way I don't have to run to the gate for boarding; I'm already nicely seated by the gate and can see when the lineup is forming and join in.

#badchurning. I went to buy cold cuts today and the customer service agent rang up my turkey as roast beef. I didn't notice until I was at self checkout. I went to the customer service rep thinking they would just give me a refund on the difference but she decided to return the whole thing in CASH!!! yay free turkey and free MR points. Side note she seemed pissed at me. Maybe I shouldn't have went to customer service? I feel like turkey is half the price of roast beef though was I wrong?

There was a loophole where you could open new PNC checking accounts and fund them with a credit card (for $2,000 or something high like that). This would post as a purchase on your card and help you meet your min spend requirement to earn the signup bonus. PNC ended that recently.

Nope—sounds like she doesn’t belong in customer service.

Wow -- the list of things I had no idea about just keeps getting longer . . . Is there any down-side to removing the no-fee card so it's not on the same login as the Aspire? Or any reason I should remove the Aspire instead of the no-fee card?

No downsides that I’m aware of. I think people used to do this to “free up” an Amex Offer that was available on the card being removed hopefully onto another more useful card on that account, but I don’t think that works anymore.

I recently removed my SPG personal from the online account that had all the Bonvoys and set up a new account for it, as it turns 1 soon and I’m hoping to get an upgrade offer on it. I just thought it was “cleaner.”

I would have done the same thing..roast beef is expensive, why pay for something you didn’t get

Absolutely nothing wrong with what you did! Some people shouldn't work in customer service. I had the same thing happen yesterday. Bought cereal on sale for 5/$5, but they rang up $2 per box. The customer service lady was so mean! My DD (who's 3) was waiting with me and coughed to clear her throat. The lady said to her "I don't want you coughing your germs all over me." WTH?!

Fun Sunday Topic...
So I know it’s not Sunday for 10 more minutes lol...but somebody on r/churning posted this topic and I thought it could be fun for us on a Sunday (which is typically slower around here):
  • As we approach the end of Q1 what cards did you get in the 1st 3 months of the year?
  • And an added question for our group: what cards do you anticipate getting in the next 3 months?

Thanks for posting updates with the AA Disney situation!

Thank you for the explanation! I just wanted to make sure I didn't need to be on the lookout for anything!

Wow, I think I would make a complaint on comment like that to a 3 year old.

I hopped on our reddit news thread to catch up last night after a busy weekend. Love that thing! I saw the news about the CIP x2 info being spread, so I decided to go for it even though my CL decreases hadn’t all reported yet no case it disappears. I app’d Late last night and had the 30 day message right away and first thing this morning an approval! Whoop!! Used dh’s referral link so that’s $1k coming our way.
