This was my SO's first lounge visit. He hated it. I took him to a Delta lounge next and he loves those. It's much quieter and the bathrooms aren't a zoo. He doesn't eat/drink anything unless its at an actual restaurant, but he likes the laidback atmosphere of the lounges and the Club was insane.
It’s not real busy here right now but just poor offerings. They stop breakfast at 10 and they told us they put out last hot foods at 9. So by 10 it’s all gone but they don’t put out lunch until 11. So an hour or so of stale pastries and candy :confused3

So I looked at May 13th through May 17th at CBR in a Pirate room...
  • Disney's site says $1,254.38
  • useeaamiles.com is showing 154,600 miles (0.81cpp?)
  • aavacations.com is showing 141,100 miles (WITH a rental car)...
There are definitely strange inconsistencies here! I also noticed a similar issue with a mock trip booked in August too but didn't take down all the details.

Are those prices while you’re logged in? I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet.

Back from a wonderful spring break trip to Maui. Wailea Beach Resort Marriott is awesome, even DH (who says he doesn't like Hawaii) liked it. The only thing I would change about the trip is to stay longer!! Being Plat didn't do a whole lot for us since the hotel was sold out because of spring break, but we used our daily continental breakfast coupons at the on-site Starbucks and paid $2-$3 upcharge to get sandwiches instead of the daily pastry. Each coupon was worth about $25-30 I figure, so that was nice. I used URs to book United tickets, whale watching (saw whales breaching very close to us!), Molokini snorkeling, and a luau. Marriott points covered the hotel (I attached a Cat 8 travel certificate before 8/18/18). I used 2 x $200 in Courtyard gift cards (purchased with the Amex Offers) to pay for resort and parking fees. Car rental was paid with DH's new Arrival+, so I should be able to erase that charge. I'm still waiting to see the balance post to my Brilliant (aka Lux), but thanks to @DisneyMandC's posts (I read DIS when I could!) I was able to load the Marriott Amex offer to my card. I left the bill with a $309 balance to be paid on it, and since my card anniversary was on 3/27, I'm expecting to see a $340 credit ($300 Brilliant credit + $40 Amex Offer). I failed at getting our Econ Plus seat upgrade covered with the Arrival+ because United charged each seat separately, so even though it appeared that the charge would be over $200 for the 3 seats, because of the way United processed it, each charge is under the $100 threshold for Arr+ travel redemptions. Blech. On the bright side, I was able to chat with Amex to change the airline on DH's Amex Gold to United, so our checked bags were free.

Today being April 1, and in celebration of being 4/24, I applied for CIP #2 thru DH's CIP link, and was instantly approved! This is my 4th Chase Biz card, and I still have CIP #1 opened from 6/2018. I lowered my CLs to about 50% HHI a couple weeks ago, and I did end up using my middle initial because I'd been getting mail from Chase to open up a CIP addressed to me with my middle initial. Next, I'll get the CIC for DH then I can cancel my CIC and go for a new CIU in a few months.

I still think any lounge is better than sitting at the gate (like a peasant), but I also think that I'm getting used to the nice ones and I'm getting picky about the "lesser" lounges. :snooty:

Agree! They did put out lunch right before we had to leave so I grabbed a few finger sandwiches in a napkin. The lunch actually looked and smelled great!

Sunday question: q1 CIP #2.

I need to formulate a plan for going forward...I have 3 Chase business cards so I won't be applying for a 3rd one until my 1st CIP is at least a year. I am fast approaching 3/24, so I have some room for Chase personal cards, maybe would be interested in an United card. If the Hyatt returns to a non-tiered bonus I will get it. I'm leaving Amex alone, I have an SPG bus and lux and put some spend on them, mainly rental cars given the lux coverage, amex offers and any spend that is not bonus on other cards but now that I'm back to working on MSR they will be seeing less love. As long as I can justify the AF for these two cards with the free nights and amex offers they will be keepers at least for now. Maybe at some point in the future I'll hit Amex hard, earn what I can and be ok with that. I haven't received a pop up yet but haven't applied to another card since they started. Given the talk with the Hilton Aspire, I'm wondering once I get my first 50,000 anniversary night on my Lux if I can downgrade to the personal and see if I can trigger an upgrade offer:scratchin I very well may be a willing DP on that one...

I'm also looking in the AA train, I'm thinking that is where I'm going to be moving once I finish MSR on the CIP. I read through the Reddit guide, and if I'm understanding currently, the first business card I can apply outright and then need a mailer after that. I really have no want to buy mailers on Reddit, but thinking what does it hurt to get on the train...

What a great trip !!....congrats on the instant approval party:

Can you explain the rationale for this? Will you create a separate log-in?

Yes. I will create a separate log in for this card. The reason is because I already hold an Aspire card which is on my regular log in with all my other Amex cards. My sole goal for this no fee card is to hopefully get an upgrade offer to the Ascend followed by another upgrade offer to the Aspire. The school of thought is that it is more likely I could get an upgrade offer from a log in account that does not currently have an Aspire card on it.

He did about 90%. I helped divide the batter evenly into 6 portions (with a scale) and pour it into pans. Confession: I broke one of his layers moving it and had to re-bake it the next morning before assembly.
He and his cousin made this for grandma’s bday (took a little more supervision to get 2 ten year olds to cooperate)

Your 10 year old made those cakes!:worship: I could not make that even with help!:crazy2:

Interesting. I hope this works for you! On the other hand, I have already added the Aspire to my one AmEx login so that trick isn't going to work for me.

I'm thinking I might just cancel the no-fee card soon to free up a spot for some other AmEx credit card (assuming I am not yet on the pop-up list) and then downgrade the Aspire after I've had it for a year.

Looks like your 3 months from the CIC... as long as your CLs are fine I’d probably go for it
