Call the automated status line with his SSN and see if the app registered.
uhhh I just called the line for business accounts and an actual human answered. o_O Luckily my twins were throwing a fit so I politely said I'll have to call back.

Can I call the 888 instead of the 800?

You called 1-800-432-3117 and tried #, 3, 1?

Yes, they keep trying to connect me to a customer service specialist
That’s not a business number...that’s just the number lol. Anyways, does that happen before or after you enter his SSN? Either way, something has gone wrong with this application. I’d just ask the specialist if the app went thru.

EDIT: I’m guessing it didn’t go thru from just doing a test on the status line myself.

So I’m thinking I’m gonna cancel that Harry Potter backpack. It now says it’s still on back order and the estimated delivery date is May 6.....I ordered it on March 2. That’s a ridiculous amount of time for them to ship out a backpack and it just doesn’t seem worth it to me. So this means I need to find another backpack before our Japan trip.

This is typical for pottery barn kids. My mom ordered my daughter a pbk suitcase for Christmas on Black Friday. It arrived January 29th.

Luckily she’s 1 and didn’t really know the difference. It’s not like she knew she was missing a present

Somewhat off topic but...I just want to say, take the trips make the memories.

I just got back from taking my 13 year old to a visitation for one of her friends mom. Unfortunately this young lady won't be the only one in the class growing up without one of their parents. There are about 4 in a class of 125 that have lost parents, which I don't think I knew anyone at that age who had a parent that had passed away. The fact that their parents are also around my age (mid 40's) makes it hit home even more to me.

I think everyone here already abides by this train of thought but anyway...take the trips, make the memories. Especially those of you without kids yet. Do the last minute, far flung trips that will be doubly hard when you have more kid-expenses and more peoples schedules to take into account.

Ok, back to happier thoughts....

In other news, there's still no word on our stolen van, so insurance went ahead and decided to total as a loss a couple days ago. I still can't believe that happened, so crazy! Anyway, DH took me to Atlanta last night to see Patty Griffin as an early birthday present, and we hit up a dealer on the way back to check out a used Sienna. And we bought it! We were going to finance half and pay half and maybe try to use plastiq to pay down a new MSR, but ended up just deciding to write a check for the full amount and be done with it. It's the same model I had before just a few years younger and much cleaner (my kids will see to that soon enough). Hate that we had to fork over more cash when we weren't planning on it, but glad we were able to find something so quickly. Guess I'm still going to be a minivan mom for the next 10 years.

That's so sad. I feel incredibly lucky that DH and I still have our parents (in their 60s). I think what you've said is a good reminder though. On our quick getaway trip this weekend we were having that very conversation about making memories with our kids. We definitely want to prioritize trips and activities over stuff with them. Not to mention try to enjoy the little things. Ours are still very young and t's hard not to take them for granted at this age. Even when they drive me crazy, I should still focus on what matters. Like how they're currently going through our pie safe where we keep the good stuff and pretending to drink out of the barware :P

Everything at The Smokehouse was wonderful especially the Burnt ends & pork belly slider. Fried green tomatoes at Gardeners Terrace and Shrimp & grits at Florida Fresh were also very good. Also if you’re an Orange Bird fan they have Orange Cream slushy (Dreamsicle shake essentially) in a souvenir cup @ Citrus Blossom.
I used the WDW Food&Wine app which was great for marking wishes and tasted items and has a list by location and map of all items.
Thank you. 56 days to go. How was your trip?

One of ds’ best buddies from elementary school lost his mom a week ago today. She was hit and killed on her bike in our neighborhood. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Definitely makes you think.

Wow, I already got the 20K bonus on my bonvoy business amex card from my referral to my husband. I filled out an application for him on 3/27, the last day and he got approved. He didn't even get the card yet and I got the 20K bonus today on my account. Surprised it came so soon. Also, my husband did have a Marriott rewards cc less than 2 years ago (probably around 21 months ago) and got a bonus and the account is now closed. Does this disqualify him for the 100K bonus points on the bonvoy??? I just don't want him to spend $5K and then not get the bonus. Thanks as always for the help!

I know it's old news, but just checking in to add my DP that I'm getting the extra 20k points from the match for the Citi AA biz. Chatted on March 22, today received a letter dated March 25 saying they have added 20k AA miles to my account. Reminds me I need to list my e-gift card for sale on one of those gift card sites. Raise the easiest if I remember correctly?

And my husband's missing Hyatt points from his March 8 statement finally posted yesterday. Booked the hotel for our trip to Omaha, but the king bed room was sold out and had to go with 2 queens. First world problems I know, but if those points posted when they should have, we would have been able to book the king room.

@happ Southwest just cancelled our flight to Florida on Apr 13. They rebooked us but stupidly put my son on a different flight 3 days after ours. That should never have happened as he was on a companion ticket.

I was in panic mode as we have a cruise, but I was able to reschedule the flight for all of us for 2 days earlier. Not ideal as will have to pull kids out of school, but at least we don’t have to drive from MA.

I thought we were safe as our flight was not on a 737 max but it seems they are reworking the schedule and redeploying aircraft so anyone could be impacted. So keep a close watch on your reservations if you have SW flights in the near future.

I just hope we don’t suffer any problems with the return flights.

I’d ask for compensation.
I tried via twitter with no success, but I will probably try again. It stings even more because I pc'd my freedom card back to csp, and paid the fee, just to transfer the miles to SW to get these tickets. Now I can't even use the SW miles for this trip and I had to use a ton of Delta miles for our tickets. I am thankful though that I had those Delta miles and some other back up options. It got me thinking about how good it is to have a "diversified churning portfolio" when things go awry.

I think I've almost gotten spouse on board to the scheme. How come I've never seen the Bank of America Travel Rewards credit card recommended? Is it because of the low sign on rewards? It has a zero annual fee which is the easier sell to spouse. There is also the fact that
  • Get an additional 10% customer points bonus on every purchase when you have an active Bank of America® checking or savings account
  • If you're a Preferred Rewards client, you can increase that bonus to 25% - 75%
We are the first and I'm not sure how to do the second but we would probably qualify as we have a large account with them and a current 5% cash back card with them. Would this be a good card for us to start with or should we still go with the normal Chase Sapphire?
