Split Stay FP Update:
According to the FP+ FAQ thread (https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/)

You can once again book FPs across split stays. :) It was "repaired" this week on Tuesday it seems. Who knows if this is permanent or not but I know a lot of people here cared about this (especially since sometimes using points we have to book split stays).

In unrelated news - no improvement to the useaamiles or aavacations websites with Disney availability. :(

Thank goodness to the first part (I was sweating how I'd book a split stay for next year's spring break) but boooooooo to the second part :sad2:

Anyone ever done a points trip to go to Jamaica? I can't believe I'm even asking this question...

My nephew and his fiance, god love them, just sent us their save the date for their destination wedding in Jamaica for VALENTINE'S DAY 2020 :headache: I love them to death, but the flights down there are astronomical, so I'm strongly seeing this as a no-go. Jetblue's calendar isn't online yet, but I've played around with it some. I could get down there on Jetblue for an ok number of points... and then have to pay $140 in taxes and fees for one person on top of it. Multiple Delta flights down there are already sold out and the next cheapest ones are $540 pp for basic economy. It's a laughable 80k AA miles to get down there or $700 pp. Southwest doesn't fly there.

Not to mention I have zero interest in ever going to Jamaica.

I think I'm going to have to look for a polite way to decline. Too expensive when I need to save for Japan, on top of the fact that that's another 2 days I'd have to take off work.

They should expect not everyone will go, especially with the timing of it. You could always send your gift early. And if it's just save the date you don't have to say not until the invite is out. Are they going to have a party at home after? I would think that would be more fun anyway.

What resort are they getting married at?

Here's how things go for me, guys. For my job we have a main shared computer, ie whoever is running the shift is on that one. Then we also have several extras that people will use. I logged in to the one extra to try for a Plat... it's been awhile since I logged in so it was taking a bit, and I ended up going to lunch because there is no 'extra' people today to use that computer anyways. Come back... someone has come in 3 hours early and is on that computer :rolleyes1

They didn't put down which resort :confused3 Not a super helpful save the date lol. They had previously told my mom they were going to do a reception at home later, so I'm just going to have to do that I think and I'll give a generous gift. It looks like it would probably cost me (without DH) $1000 plus to take a 3 day vacation I don't want to go on lol. I have no idea how they chose Jamaica. I know they've been to the Bahamas together before, but never Jamaica.

Down side of that show? Family birthday cake requests are getting more complicated - I mean, if these crazy brits can turn out these gorgeous desserts, Mom should be able to do it too, right?

My mom LOVES to bake (and lives with us) - she makes these beautiful cakes, and is now perfecting macarons with different fillings/flavors/colors. But she ends up taking most of them to work to share with her employees, because we just don't eat a lot of sweets (I don't like them period, with the exception of cheesecake) :confused3 Which I guess isn't a terrible thing, but I always get the strangest looks when people find out I don't like ice cream or chocolate :scared:

Yep he’s still interested in the other job. It’s the same company and location but might be slightly different. Dh keeps throwing in Dallas, Alabama, and Colorado into the mix now. It’s hard for me to switch my mindset from Orlando though

Come on down!

It's odd they don't have a resort because that could be a factor for a lot of people. If they get married at a couples/adults only resort then anyone with kids would have to stay elsewhere and then travel to the resort, if the property lets kids attend the weddings. Or if they want to go but can't afford that resort the same. I have no desire to go to Jamaica either and wouldn't be comfortable traveling between resorts. I remember there used to be pretty good deals for getting married at the resorts but who knows if it's still that way. You used to also be able to get free china for going on your honeymoon if you spent a certain amount. I can't remember if this was sandals or the other adults one I can't remember. Hopefully they aren't getting married at one of the hedonism resorts, though I don't remember if they offered weddings since it's more of a honeymoon type place. Jamaica just doesn't seem like a friendly wedding destination to me compared to other places in the caribbean.
