My favorite is when somebody has to complete trash your plan: “UGH I could never stay at All Stars with those tiny rooms and terrible pools! We’re a deluxe only family.” Seriously - did you need to say it THAT way?? Couldn’t you just say that your preference is to stay at a deluxe, or better yet, say NOTHING at all!

I know, right? It's not nice to disparage something someone is looking forward to, even if it's not what you would book. I'll add the, "Disney, again?" comments we received when DD was little. And the "why do you waste all those miles flying in first when you could go to Europe twice in coach?" Friends want friends to be happy, hope they can achieve their goals, and wish for whatever their friends want. I've worked hard IRL to spend my time with people who "bring me up" instead of those who like to brag and tell everyone that their way is the only way. At least with the boards I can close the thread and ignore it.

For those of you with Lowe's AMEX offer, they are doing a rebate for 11% back ending the 23rd. This won't work on gift cards. When I checked out I also got a coupon for 5 off a 25 purchase later this month, so I'll probably go back and get mulch.

I finally received my cancellation credit from Universal. Took 6 days. This is the reservation I made in January to quickly use up my CSR travel credit before PCing my card. I did lose some URs as I did not receive any with reservation since it was travel credit money. So that part stinks, but yay for free money.

Soooo... it wouldn't be crazy to take a Thurs night flight to MCO, land at 9pm, then take a redeye home Monday night right? Leave just before midnight get into Denver at 5:30am... I have extra vacation, I can take Tuesday off... Frontier to MCO and United to DEN for $97pp, that's pretty tempting lol

There are 2 islands and you can walk from one to the other or take the courtesy boat that runs back and forth until midnight. The restaurant is on the main island.

The restaurant entrance is the bungalow in the background of this photo. Where you dine is where the buoys are to the right of the bungalow 5 meters down. You enter the bungalow and leave your shoes on the rack inside.

To get to the restaurant you go down this staircase

This will lead you to the restaurant under the water. You can see it from above the water when you are standing in front of the bungalow. Here is what it looks like from above during the day and the evening. In the day shot you can make out the tables even though the lamps aren’t on like they are in the night picture.

My brain initially read "months" as "years" in your comment...

I was like...how was she scared of the sand at 13? It was a very confusing few seconds in my life...

It was great for my parents, because I sun burn really easy so they just put a towel under the umbrella and didn't have to worry

You guys , I'm so thankful for this hobby and everyone here in this thread. DH sent me a bare minimum of his coworkers trip asking if it seems like a good price. It's DEN-HNL on United, Sat to Sat over the week of the 4th of July, (I looked up the flight times, I see $1120pp for regular economy), then it says Trump Hotel ocean view (assuming Waikiki from my googling), then says tour, travel insurance. Total $6894.94. I know Hawaii is expensive (also an expensive week I would think), but we spent less OOP on our 2.5 week wedding/honeymoon extravaganza thanks to this hobby!

But even with out cc churning you can do Hawaii better/cheaper than that. Of course if you're stuck going that week but still. They could at least stay in a condo. I'm hoping it's for 4 people given the airfare and the total cost. I'd see if they can find better fares out of CA or even SEA and then fly there, there's got to be cheaper air that just kills me. That's a flight to Europe not Hawaii.
