I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I was approved for the 40K Citi AA Biz card on 2/20. On 3/6 I sent a SM requesting a match to the higher 60K offer. After 4 days with no response, I made the request again via chat and was told I'd hear via mail in 7-10 days. Received the letter a couple of days ago denying my request because I wasn't solicited for the offer I mentioned and asking me to send a copy of the front and back of the offer I received. I just now logged into my account and see a points adjustment of 20K!! I'm not even half way through the $2K spend so this was a real surprise.

I just checked my account and I have 20,000 miles under "adjustments" also! I still haven't received a response, but I guess the melody and spirit decided to give me the points anyway, haha!

Has anyone who applied for the Barclay aviator under the 50k gotten a match to the 60k? I applied like two days before the 60k offer dropped. I guess I thought Barclay would match that pretty easily. My 50k has posted to my AA but I never heard from them about the match.

Have you not tried to score those must-have ADRs, woken up at ungodly hours as ADRs open up, and then have to deal with Disney IT? I’d be pretty cranky after that too, until I’ve had my morning coffee.
:surfweb:

Oh bless your young heart! The bad old days were pre horrible IT when you had to get up at o-dark-thirty and start dialing over and over on both the land line AND the newfangled cell listening to horrible clashing fuzzy muszac! You whippersnappers have no IDEA how GOOD you have it!!1

So I've been following this paid FP thread on the rumors board...and I just saw somebody comment this:

> It's pretty easy to get lost in a thread that's 55 pages long!!!

I'm like thinking...55 pages...LONG? What are you talking about!! We can generate 55 pages in 3-4 days here haha!!

LOL I sent an SM maybe just generate a new one and try again. They said something like you didn’t qualify for this promotion didn’t say anything else so I just asked why and they gave me the points.

Sent a new SM and got the CSP match! Don't see it in my account yet, hope I won't need to follow-up. Signed by a different agent, but she referenced my previous message, lol.

"...on our previous email, we stated that we cannot honor your request to match the 60,000 bonus points. I want to let you know that I have consulted your inquiry with my manager and our Marketing Team just sent an updated guideline of the offer."

I wonder what the updated guideline refers to - how to deal with match requests or the CSP offer itself.

It’s about 4 feet deep according to DH. Too deep for me to venture in past the steps. Earlier I saw this little guy at another part of the beach. He swam by singing “Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo” while I was watching and singing “Holy crap doo doo doo doo doo doo” so there’s like zero chance of me going in the water now.

:rotfl: Now that song is stuck in my head. I'm enjoying following along on your AH-mazing trip! #lifegoals #livingvicariously

Here's a little more detail on my Biz grAAvy train:
  • My first application for the dummy offer (public offer) was 12/17/18.
  • I closed that card at around the 65 day mark (from opening) - obviously after all the points had posted
  • I secured a mailer via a private group I'm in so I can't provide a successful marketplace DP
  • This application was put in today 3/21/19 - so 94 days between apps
  • Both were auto-approved
  • I did not get any instant card number for the 2nd app (didn't expect it since it wasn't a dummy offer)
  • I also wasn't able to add it to my online login yet, I guess I'll just wait for the card and have that fun then.
So you absolutely can apply for the first card with the best public offer and only need mailers for the 2nd card and beyond. (I know I'm being captain obvious here but just sharing for folks who haven't been following this since the start)

Also wanted to add that the code was DEAD within 5 minutes. I didn't try accessing it again any sooner, but with the idea of hitting 2 apps with one code I figured I'd check it. So it seems you'd need to literally submit both at the same time in 2 screens or computers.

I am seriously thinking of jumping on board the train -- to use the points for hotels! Just not sure how I can meet the MSRs required on top of the MSR for the personal Bonvoy card I have yet to apply for (I will meet the MSR on the business Bonvoy as soon as I get the card).

I think I love to hate ADR and FP+ days. They are so frustrating with IT issues and figuring out plans months out without all of the info I need, but then I planned Disneyland CA and was stressed that we couldn't book anything until 60 days out. I am clearly trained well by Disney World (and am 100% a natural planner of course).

For those doing the AA "dummy" offers:

My wife's statement closed today and the $200 statement credit for the AA eGC she bought is there. I know it's already been discussed but just providing another DP of how that works.

Mine did the same. This was great except that the credit plus a few pending charges that I expected to post meant I was dollars shy of my MSR. So I wait another month for my points. Not a tragedy, but I hate that I can't even search the travel portal until I get the points. Not that I have something I need to book, but I want in!

Woot, auto approved for cip #2 with ssn in less than 24 months! Used my husband support link! That’s a nice 105k ur coming up!

Thanks for the help, I was waiting for 24 months to get a second cip in July, but I will have downgraded my husbands card before that, so it would been 20k ur less.

Maybe I can get him a second cip once we finish this spend!

Now if only I could still use my UR for Disney, sigh.

Also adding...if you want to read a thread full of hot air, speculation and useless arguing with the ADDED BENEFIT of virtually no likes...then this thread is for you:
https://www.disboards.com/threads/paid-fp-options-coming-soon-to-wdw.3739005/page-59 (Some of that hot air may be mine too hahaha)

HAHA! I read some of this and just shake my head. I like to keep tabs on these rumors but I'm glad I spend my workday chatting about fun stuff like credit cards vs. spitting on people's onion rings in a rumors thread :)

I think its time to put DW on the train (biz only). Whats the best Biz offer out there right now? 40k/2k spend and 200 credit? I checked a dummy booking and its 50k/4k spend with no statement credit.
I think the best I've seen recently is the 40k/2k/$200 credit offer. Once you start using the mailers, the points are higher but so is the MSR.

ETA: Of course, request the 20k match :)

Well, you can, right? Just gotta take those UR's as cash back. That is pretty painful for many of us. It's what I will be doing though!

Congrats on the new CIP!!!
I don’t think i can do it. Hurts too much. I’ll just pay cash for Disney with discounted gc and use UR for other trips. Or to add to my southwest rr to get to Disney.

I'm looking at my DH's citi log in. Where do you SM CIti for the 20K points match?
