Figured it would happen when they switched the online to Expedia, it doesn't make sense to only use them for part if they do it all. It's why we were concerned about waiting to pay. If for some reason the cruise wasn't transferred at the end of the contract we might not have been able to use the UR, or if they did it around final payment and there was a lockout during the transition we'd be screwed.
Sounds like we have a end date for Connexions. That sucks.

SPG was Starwood Preferred Guest, the Starwood loyalty program. Always wonder how they get your email, I randomly started getting the timeshare emails before I ever created an account. Starwood was creepy like that.

It is also a little unsettling that multiple countries have grounded the 737-MAX and the US and Boeing have both deemed it safe (for now). Not saying there is actually anything wrong with the plane, but out of goodwill you would think Boeing would want to pause flights while it figures out why 2 planes went down in 5 months. If it truly is just operator error, Boeing should also be addressing the changes and how to properly compensate for it. Maybe I expect too much from companies?

I understand why people think they should but don't agree with it. There's nothing so far that makes it seem like it's the same. Boeing has also put out information about the changes but it's up to the airlines to train their pilots. There's also discussion of how much experience the pilots have as pilots and knowing how the entire system works/what to do if something goes wrong vs just knowing how to fly the plane. In that regard I would say the US airlines vs those airlines that have grounded the planes (not looking the countries but specific airlines) are going to have better training and pilots that most likely came out of the military more often than someone that went just to flight school etc. There were one or two airlines I saw on the list this morning that I might consider flying.

Then there's the business aspect, their stock did rebound some but they aren't going to ground the planes unless they have reason to (either found through the investigation or by FAA) due to that and all the orders they have. There really aren't that many of these planes flying.

Another way to look at it, a car manufacturer knows there's something wrong they issue recalls, I don't recall them ever telling people to stop driving the cars even with the issue is known to cause accidents etc. There was something with the gas pedal sticking a few/several years back but even with that I don't remember them saying don't drive it. I would also imagine that because Boeing is confident in the plane due to all the hours of testing and that with proper pilot training the system works and any issues can be dealt with that they also don't want to ground them because it would look like they were agreeing with the speculation when they prefer to deal in fact. Whether that's right or not is open to interpretation. And as always it's up to each individual whether you want to fly on a 737 max 8 or any other airplane at least for now with so few planes you can avoid them by flying different airlines though that can be done anyway since generally an airline is a Boeing or Airbus carrier and doesn't have both unless there's still pre merger planes like Alaska/Virgin America.

Sad. I never really got to know SPG at all. At all SPG was one hotel program I was excited about. I got all their cards and then everything blew up and now I have all these points and a cert and no clue what to do with.

You cannot click on the link in your account reservation. You need to search the flight like you are booking it new and then click on the flight number from there. At least that is what I had to do for our flights that are in just over two weeks.

That all makes sense too. The expert, I can't remember which one, my local news had on a bit ago said that he doesn't see any reason to ground the planes because if it was the same thing as the Lion air crash they already know the cause and the fix, it's two switch's they have to flip to turn off the auto pilot. They also showed data from a test flight Boeing did around western WA/Puget Sound today and it all looked good. The stations aviation expert figured they were testing the system.

My biggest question, and what my mom and I were talking about yesterday, is where are all of the big pieces of the plane. I haven't seen any new footage of the site on the news today but I also haven't watched much, but yesterday they showed them digging but there were no big pieces, not even the tail which is odd. Also we know there was some fire because a book they showed was partially burned but a lot of the passengers stuff was ok. Not sure how much to believe the eye witnesses they mentioned yesterday that said they saw flames in at the tail of the plane but all of it put together makes you wonder what happened.

My mom grew up closer to the flight path of SeaTac than we currently live now. They were about 3 - 4ish miles from the end of the runway and we're 7 - 9 ish. My grandpa worked for United and could name the plane flying over by the sound until they changed to jets, so like me she grew up with the planes it's just she could see tail numbers and from here we can only see the livery. We tell the weather by the planes But we also notice changes in flight paths and when they shortened the turn (turn much closer to the airport after take off than before) that was certainly a freakout moment until you realize it's changed. And sometimes with the change in elevation and the bigger the plane (787 airbus 380) it seems like it's way too low at landing. A plane crashing is always in the back of my head but moreso when I'm at home or driving around, not when I'm actually on the plane which seems odd but I'm around flying planes way more than on them so statistically it makes sense. They're taking off to the south tonight, which means warmer weather is here/coming and over 5 have taken off since I started typing this. Lots of red eyes tonight.

This USA Today article has sample routes for the 3 airlines that have 737 Max 8 planes, though it doesn't mean your flight will fly it or that these are the only routes.

There's also mention elsewhere that while our airline res should tell you your airline type that flight aware is also a good place to check though there's no timeline for when the plane will be determined. I'll add that it also doesn't mean it won't change prior to the flight for various reasons. The one time I got to fly on a 777 was because they needed to reposition it from SFO to DEN and the flight the night prior had been cancelled so they put us all on the bigger plane. Made my dad jealous since this was only 3 years from when they started flying them.

the majority of the people dont know the way I booked it... most likely they book the $250 per flight through JetSuitex directly or through JetBlue.
We found a different way of booking it... by using support links, u get $300 cash to use... but u can only use $100 per one way... my flight happens to be $129, but minus the $100, makes it $29. on some days, u can even get flights in and out for free...

if i flew back today, it would have been free...

Sorry but need to vent...... Mother in Law has been developing a 'relationship' with some guy she met through an online dating site just over a month ago. She has been like a teenager in love, sneaking off to send texts and emails etc. Tonight she texts me to ask what is the best way to send an iPhone to Turkey. Turns out he is supposedly over there on business for 3 months - has broken his phone and needs her to send him a replacement as they are really difficult to get in Turkey for foreigners.

As you can imagine - I went into full SCAM alert mode. I feel bad, but I had to tell her what I thought and she didn't want to hear it. The thing is - it wouldn't surprise me if she goes ahead and does it anyway. There is nothing I can do to stop her. What really bothers me is that next time she won't tell me because she knows what my reaction will be.

It was hard because they called me on it asking why I needed it. A call I was not expecting. DH has an actual business. When we got his we actually made the MSR in one charge buying equipment. But then I used his referral to get mine which was a “business.” I was not prepared and was floundering throughout the call. In hind sight I realized they called because I already had 6 personal cards and way too much credit. They still approved me though. It was just awkward and an experience I don’t want to repeat.



I closed the CIP outright. If I won’t get the referral then yes makes it a lot easier. My plan would be to go to the Office Depot 5 minutes from my house and make at least half the MSR in gift cards (mostly for Disney).

Maybe I just make my life easy and go with original plan of CIC.

P2 can transfer the URs to her Hyatt account, then you can both fill out the Points Transfer Form and mail/email it (seriously). From experience though, Hyatt does process this transfer fairly quickly.

It's concerning with how much Boeing spends on lobbying ($275 million over 20 years). The CEO of Boeing, Dennis Muilenburg, called Trump yesterday and personally asked him not to ground the fleet. Of course the FAA makes that decision, but a president can obviously really put a lot of weight on the decision.

I am not a nervous flyer at all and I'll admit, I looked at the plane type for my upcoming two flights. I wouldn't have given it much thought until the EU grounded the flights. Then it got concerning to me.

We are scheduled to fly Norwegian Air to Ireland (PVD to SNN) in a month on a Max 8. Both Norwegian Air and Ireland have cancelled the Max 8 flights. I’m assuming in a month they’ll either have cleared the planes or they’ll have a different type of plane. What does everyone else think will happen with it?
