No, I don’t believe so. DH said that the implement dealers want you to have their card so they know you can pay for your stuff. I think that’s BS because they have our tractor. If you don’t pay, you shouldn’t get your tractor back. I’m assuming that the dealers do this because you may have a lien on your tractor and if you can’t pay, someone else could have a lien on your tractor and the parts and service people would be SOL. We own all of our equipment free and clear (thanks to inheritance), and I just want to pay using my own credit cards!

I’m going to call tomorrow. It just irritates me that DH felt like he had to sign up for this stupid card (and thus using yet another 5/24 slot for a worthless, zero benefit to us card).

We have similar deals in the past. Not sure if your dealer is the same as ours, but we typically are able to bypass the charge account and use a CC. In fact, the guy at the parts counter called DH the other day and asked if they wanted to hold the parts so he could get his points from his card. Apparently DH has bragged about our churning a little too much :lmao:

They may make you shift to using a pay upfront method as opposed to a charge with their card. In that case, you can use your CC as you pick up the parts.

@wendow, I'm trying to follow the Hawaii stuff...did they have availability from your airport this morning and then it disappeared? Did that many people book flights? I just looked from my home airport but everything just says unavailable (although I'm on east coast). Just wondering what happened to you!

Yes. Entire months are showing sold out now. Of course I booked my family this morning, but got distracted researching hotel points options and now can't book myself on CP! Ugh. So frustrating! SWA is not my favorite today.

It all seems odd to me. I didn't get on until this afternoon and saw the news. Tried to play with dates for the heck of it and everything shows unavailable from BNA...except Sundays in June and July....and only to go there, not to return. I guess some people might like to not return.

I find it really hard to believe that all those months are full, but what do I know?

For me, all of March, April and May are unavailable. Some of June, July and Aug are open for me but the prices are very high with each way in the $400-$600 range. I think all the cheap seats are just gone.

I need to look over to the cruise board and figure out if we can afford a DCL Caribbean cruise next year. I have not done any cruises yet but we love Disney :P. Hoping to do a few days in WDW then a cruise. We’ll see.

The Caribbean or Bahamas sailings are much more affordable than the European sailings. I loved the Bahamas sailing I did in January!

Back to the GS Cookies, Wife just told me her BFF in Madison WI says they are $6/box there. For a $2/box savings she's going to ship her the ones she wants.

I know this is old news now, but I would just like to say, Where is Sacramento on that list??:sad2: Although, if the timing was right, I would have driven to Oakland for $49 flights to Hawaii.

Coming soon I hope!! Hopefully, the prices are similar to the $49-99 one way per person that I saw earlier.

As @wendow said, SW says they're coming! FWIW if you want those and you hear they've been released I would book ASAP. Not only do you have the competition of those to whom SMF/SAN are more convenient but you'll be competing against everybody who missed today's cheap fares.

Dang, WI beating CA! I would happily have paid $6 again this year for last year's GF Trios but apparently those aren't being made anymore :( My pocketbook is grateful, my taste buds not so much.

So I was watching the Disunplugged show on Youtube about the new DCL 2020 cruise release. Steve Porter was quoting some people’s posts from Disboards and he mentioned @GlamMistress and quoted what she said. I was so excited to recognize someone from the boards that I did not listen to the rest of what he said and came here to post. :dogdance:

I went back about 10 pages but did not see this mentioned. Just a shoutout to Glam Mistress for her 15 sec. of fame!

Oh god. Considering I'm like the only one who thinks the prices are insane the quote probably wasn't good, lol!!!

I listened. It was a comment I made 2 days ago, talking about it would come down to price and that I can do RCCL for half the price.

So they were arguing that DCL is worth it more than RCCL.

Ooh, I'll have to listen to this tomorrow! I've recently been addicted to the Dis Unplugged podcasts while at work. I've started flex time and now work 6:30-3:15 so my mornings are long and need something to help keep me awake. It's pretty awesome though, I get to pick up the kiddos from school now!

Congrats on your new AA biz card! You are officially a legit churner :D

Having lived in Waco for 4 years while I attended college, it's still so funny to me that people actually want to go visit there lol! It was the 'armpit' of TX for many years. Having said that, a lot of people want to go there now. If you plan to go to Magnolia, the weekdays are much calmer but there is also less going on. Weekends are crazy busy but there are food trucks and the lots of activity. Sounds like a fun road trip!

Thank you! I love the Food Network and HGTV so I think this would be a lot of fun. I realized when I was typing it out that this probably sounds miserable for most men! Well, not the concert part but the rest of it. Yeah, other than the Silos I don't think there's much I'd probably care to do in Waco. Did you go to Baylor?
It's funny, although Dallas is only about 6 hours away from Wichita, I've only been there twice ever. We usually tend to go to KC for road trips. I tried to plan a trip to Dallas/San Antonio/Rockport a few summers ago, but my DH wasn't feeling it so we ended up at WDW. We really should go down there more often, maybe once I get my free night certs.

Being gluten free they would be $7!

Just got automatic approval on the SW Priority! My $3k + AF has posted on my 6 wk old biz card, and the statement closes mid March I think. I used the link from dischurners for the in flight SUB, so fingers crossed it works for me! From what I have read it’s $2000 MSR for 50,000 RR. Somebody please speak up if I’m wrong! We’ve also got P2’s United biz MSR of $5000 to meet so these details are important!

I did finally get caught up on the thread tonight. For now. Until I go to bed. My kids are 15, 18, and 19, so the baby days are done for us! The day I realized my kids were old enough that I could wear dangly earrings again, I was pretty happy. But I wouldn’t trade my kids for ANYTHING! They’re the best, and I wouldn’t give them up for all the dangly earrings in the world!

I think I watched some of the 90210 series. I was in college when it first came on. And I think maybe Luke Perry was from Ohio (like me lol). You can tell I really got into the show. :rolleyes1

So DH’s credit card came today from the implement dealer. He’s okay with me calling tomorrow to see if we have to use this card. (Can places really do that?!)

It would be ideal for me to put the charges on my CIP. One trip to the dealer should exceed my MSR.

Question though- if we don’t HAVE to keep this credit card from the implement dealer, can my husband reject the card and not have it go on his credit report? Yes, he did apply for it, but it was under the impression that he must (by the implement dealer).
This seems so weird. Are they saying that their CC is the ONLY way to pay?

One of my favorite restaurants accepts only their own charge card (+ debit cards, checks & cash). You can't use a CC at all. They don't march out with a charge card application, slam it on the table & tell you to fill it out or start washing dishes.

And if I book them, or her, on points now, is it easy to swap that to CP?

I just did this. I had booked myself and DS to Denver the day the flights opened up. This was before I had the CCs let alone a CP. I wanted to make sure to get him a seat. Just earned the CP. Since it was on the same reservation as me, I called in. The CSR checked there were still open seats and then cancelled his and added him as my companion. I also had another flight where I was smarter and had him booked separately. On that one, I first added him as my companion and then cancelled the other flight. Full disclosure DS is now 21 (can hardly believe that, I am feeling old) so he is an adult and easy to book a separate ticket for.

I loved Trios. I'm so sad they're gone.

My favorites are the Trefoils :duck: (nobody ever likes these!) and the Tagalongs. I used to love Thin Mints but I stress-ate so many of those in high school that I don't enjoy them anymore.

Waiting for my annual shipment to arrive...

Those are pretty much the only channels i watch as well :) My dh & I went to Baylor, which is in Waco, and we liked living there. However, back then, Chip and Joanna hadn't revolutionized the town yet and made it 'cool'. There was really no industry so everyone graduated and headed either to Dallas or Houston (Few went to Austin but it was much smaller then). I would love to have settled in Waco. If we move back to TX ever, the Waco/Temple area is where we'd hope to be.

I see GlamMistress said this just now, but I'll second her post. The PC cruises, esp. the Bahamas are much cheaper (not cheap). But the real complaints are coming from people wanting to sail to Alaska or Europe. DCL's Northern European are very expensive, and that isn't even counting the cost of the excursions.

The difference is the cost being extended. One could have $10K, $20K+ in parts outstanding that haven't been paid for. Using their own short term charge account helps the dealer manage the risk. There should be a way to bypass it though, even it it means switching to a pay as you go method instead of charging every month.

Signing up for Pei. Do you have to give them your bank account login info?
