Ugh...so if she signed up and it says she has no packages coming, this is a very bad sign??

ETA Thanks for explaining how it works

Priority mail can take 3 days, and that's when everything works. Delivery date is not guaranteed. Fingers crossed it's delivered by Saturday!

:offtopic: I know many of you have much more experience with Southern California, looking for some guidance. Trip is in May will be flying into LAX and then head to anaheim for DL, staying 5 nights at the 4pts by sheraton on points. After that stay I will need to get to San diego for a work convention, not sure if I'll drive or take the train. 3 nights for the work convention in San diego. So my travel partner will be free throughout the day to explore but my time will need to be spent mostly at the work convention. Would you stay another night or two in San diego? Right now my ultimate plan is to drive to palm springs stay a couple nights, go to Joshua tree and fly home probably from palm springs airport to save on some of the driving. Any other recommendations of things to do in this general area? I was hoping to see Sequoia National park but looking at it, 5.5 hrs of driving from palm springs and then from there I can't find good options for flights... Thanks for any advice!

My DH loves to take the train from LA to San Diego. It is apparently a beautiful ride along the coast. We flew into San Diego and then drove to Palm Springs several years since the fares into Palm Springs were around $900 each and they were $400 into San Diego. It isn't too bad of a drive. Loved Palm Springs!

Love those Dooneys!! I've never bought a dooney but someday I will!

Btw, your post reminded me to measure the ears. My dd's older ears are about 3cm apart where the band curves down and almost meets. The IASW are 3.5cm apart.

Thanks for measuring! So not that far apart really. I don't think the stretching is going to work either. Looked again at the band to see about trying to swap it out and just don't see it having a good outcome. My mom suggested small foam but that doesn't make the ears any less tight.

hi! I found this thread by accident, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve tried to read the entire 485 pages but gave up 20 pages into it and skiped to the last 20 pages. I have no idea what churning is, but it looks exciting. I had to screenshot the page of abbreviations to refer to just to try to decipher what you all were talking about.
Anyhow, I’m planning a trip to Disney for five people in November. We are staying at Pop Century. I’m looking for Tips to save on airfare for all five of us. I’d love to figure out this churning so that we could take more trips.

Currently I have

Chase Disney visa
2 chase southwest cards
Amex blue cash
Amex everyday card

I received the Marriott 100,000 bonus points offer but we don’t usually stay at the Marriott so I’m not sure this is worth it for us. We typically stay at Hilton hotels.
Thank you!!!

Today was a big news day. Almost 15 pages from this morning. My head is still spinning. :faint:

For those trying to get just the headlines before winding down tonight, I've tried to pick up on the most newsworthy developments on the DISchurners news thread.

Here is what is happening. Sprint hit you with a 30 day late, probably in February or March of last year. This turned into a 60 day late, then a 90 then a 120 as it wasn't paid. After hitting you with a few 120s they took a charge off so they could take it off of their business ledger. This is what you are seeing now, and it is actually better than showing 120+ day late every month. Your score will go up some if you satisfy the collection, your credit report should show who has the collection, Sprint usually sells them pretty quick after a CO, you can contact whoever they sold it to and try to settle it for less. Without that satisfied, your credit score can't move up. Good Luck, if you're looking for more help and information, head over to the forums at myFICO, they have some great credit minds over there.

This is really strange. I signed up for Experian, as some on this board told me to. My score a week or so ago was 711ish. Today I went on and it was 825??? It said it went up 113 points? It doesn't seem like Sprint is making my score go down. It says it's too many cards opened in a short period? I opened 2 chase Disney cards within this year and my husband put me as a co-signer on one of his cards in 2/2018. I took myself off as a co-signer for his card from 2/2018. I know a lot of people on here told me to just pay Sprint the $270 they want (they screwed up our 4 phone contracts) but honestly, in all good conscious, I cannot give that company a dime. They suck and they should be paying me for the aggravation they caused and all their screw ups. Anyway, can my credit score (Experian) go up 113 points for getting removed from one credit card company credit check? I just found it so strange. Also, I am now at 4/24 but in April, one credit card will be past the 2 years and at that point I will apply for CIP. Just wondering if anyone has heard of a credit score going up by 113 within a week? Also, I do not think the Sprint collection hurt my credit score because it says every payment I ever made was on time. Says 0/30, 0/60 and 0/90. It just gave me negative marks for "opening new credit". I will wait it out.

It’s really not much better. Sadly :( I may try wearing them to see how long I can go before a headache starts.

Hi and Welcome..everyone here is super friendly and helpful

If you dont usually stay at Marriotts I’d pass on the offer.there are probably a lot of other credit cards that would help you
Do you usually fly a certain airline..I see you have 2 SW cards...when did you receive the bonus on them....
If you list the date you opened the above cards it can help determine how many cards you’ve opened in the past 24 months....
also how much you can put on a cc in 3 months..since the cards have a minimum spend to get the bonus
Most of us start out applying for Chase cards that earn URs..since they are very versatile...

.A lot of us here also have a side business...selling on eBay, tutoring etc...if you’ve even thought about it you could apply for a business card..the one with the highest bonus offer is the CIP...the bonus is 80k URs after a 5k spend in the first 3 months....if that’s too much there are other cards with lower MSR

Welcome! Do you know what airline you will be using? It looks like you have the SW cards. Would you be willing to cancel and resign up for one if SW is the way you want to go? You can no longer have more than one personal SW card. There are links on this thread for 50,000 SW points with sign up for a personal card. Would you be willing to get a business card? There is a 60,000point SW biz card. If you get both of those you can have the companion pass. Is that what you did originally, since you have 2 SW cards? Do you have a player 2? How much can you spend in a month? Cards will depend on how much you can spend in 3 months to get the signup bonus. The Chase Ink Preferred business card is also a great one because it has the highest sign up bonus of 80,000 UR points. These you can cash out for $800 or redeem them through the UR portal for travel for a greater redemption. You don't have much time to collect for a November flight though.

We just attended the welcome party at DS’s new school for the fall which was really nice. We visited the school store while we were there and got him an UnderArmour sweatshirt with the school name on it for the low, low price of $75. They told us where to get the uniform so I looked their website. I am doing to be spending a small fortune on uniforms (short and long sleeve shirts, sleeveless and long sleeve sweaters, button-down oxfords, tie, blazer, etc) and the required UA backpack for $70. Yikes! Upper school will be worse the following year since they have to wear a tie and blazer every day. It’s becoming real and exciting!

Wow that is strange.....and I don’t blame you for not wanting to give Sprint anymore money....fingers crossed your score stays high and you can get the CIP...the 80k URs are worth it

When a credit card send you a pre-approval does it count against how many new credit cards you have? Do they need to run a hard credit report on you?

113 does seem like a big jump. Did you have any high balances on any cards recently? My score dropped about 30 points one week because I was meeting MSR and hitting a new card fast, and I wasn't thinking and also dropped my credit limit on the card. So for a few weeks I had a $3000 balance on a $5000 card. I did pay the card in full at the due date, but they can see the balance at any time so I had super high utilization for a few weeks. It went right back up after I paid the card. Do you have Credit Karma account or Credit Journey through Chase? You can check other scores through them to see if they are closer to the 700 or 800 score. I think you said you also cancelled a card that was less than a year old? I am not sure what that would do to your credit score. But it probably ticked Chase off, hope they are still willing to give you other cards. Always keep cards open at least a full year.

Sounds like lots of opportunities to meet SUBs :) I remember the good old days of school uniforms, sigh. It really streamlines the mornings when there is only one choice of what to wear.

Yes, it does on MSRs! Our mornings are actually kind of streamlined already since sets of clothes are hung together. DS just needs to grab a hanger, a pair of socks and underwear. He has never worn a tie so that will be a new experience for him.
