All i can say is ......don't trust everything your doctors tell you and try to avoid going on a statin if at all possible. For example, they might tell you that going on a statin will cut your risk of a heart attack by 50%.....but that might mean your chances of having a heart attack go from 2% to 1%. You have decide if the potential side effects of statins are worth it for a 1% real terms reduction in risk.

Research, Research, Research.

So, what are the potential side effects? I've been on statins for more than 10 years.

I want their calendar back! I still mourn the loss every year at this time. I used to buy a couple for us plus I bought several as gifts. My dd will be down at Disney for her DCP next year and there is a CFA right by the CP housing. I was thinking how great the calendar would be for her :(

Make sure she has the app on her phone. it doesn't take long to build up a freebie and sometimes they will just treat you. Plus there is a birthday reward.

@PolyRob I'm sorry that I forgot to come back and respond to you! No, the Disney+ stuff is not fixed! My dh's account is still not working and I have not been refunded for being charged for the free 30-day entitlement account. I need to call them again but we were at WDW and I got a cold (really bad sore throat) and I screamed on rides the first couple days. That is not a good combo! I lost my voice lol! I had very little voice at all the last day there and it really just came back yesterday for the most part. I still sound really raspy, which the lady at the grocery store says is 'super cute' 😆 And then dh had oral surgery the day after we got back. So long story to say that we have not called again but will here soon. I'm ticked at them and my niceness over all this is wearing thin.

Also, you may remember how somehow the Disney+ stuff broke my dh's MDE account. He disappeared off our resort reservation and all our FP's. We called regular Disney IT and spent a ton of time with them getting him set back up. All seemed well BUT none of his MB's scanned right for pics. So, the times my band was scanned, the pics show up but when he scanned, they are gone. Weird thing is that those pics are showing up on my aunt's MDE who is connected to us :faint: So, I can get them from her account but it's all so frustrating....

Yes, the app is great! She does have it. She worked there for 9 mos so she built up a nice stash of points. For my b-day, she gave me a candle and then gifted me a chicken sandwich from her points lol!! Our CFA's are pretty generous with the 'just because' rewards. Hopefully, they are down in Orlando too!

The list is too long to put here - but liver damage, muscle damage, fatigue, sexual dysfunction, memory issues, increased blood sugar are just a few of the top of my head. I had terrible muscle problems whilst on lipitor - a switch to crestor seems to have solved that problem.

I'm back to reconsidering doing a different Character Breakfast with the grand daughters. Not cancelling the idea, but I just read a review and found another of interest to me.

Topolino's Terrace at Riviera has a character breakfast that includes Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy and Pluto was on the terrace - the others do table visits. Of course it's brand new so not too many reviews. Also, not overly focused on the actual food - we will eat whatever is available. It's more the experience I'm going for. Pete and his crew did a video just this week and you can find it in the sidebar Disney News and Updates. Would I ride the Skyliner there? Probably not. Easy drive from Boardwalk, though. Any thoughts?

Daughter often orders and then picks up the food for her office friends. She likes to get out at lunch time. So I let her treat me <g>. She has about 5k points on her account.

I agree with you. I had a huge fight with my doctor about it. I was really upset that she didn't even talk about diet and exercise and gave me no options other than statins.

I haven't read any reviews on it either but the pics I've seen on Instagram look really cute. I like seeing characters in different settings and unique outfits. So, I'd like to do this one. It'd be nice to have a reason to venture over to Riviera also.

So far I've not had any major issues. I've been on Lipitor and now atorvastatin which is free to me - love generics.
A quick search seems to indicate many of the same issues with both Crestor and Lipitor.
I am also diabetic, and there is a correlation between increased blood sugar. I'm also high risk for heart issues, so I guess the good probably outweighs the bad.

Opposite from my doctor. Makes me exercise and insisted on classes in weight management, managing diabetes through a healthy diet. If I'd listened soon enough I'd be in much better condition, but I feel healthy and know what I should eat thanks to him and his staff.

My dd always tries to scan her app when we go to CFA, even when I am paying, and of course, I let her. I think she has about 2k points but she runs through them quickly too. There is a CFA right by campus that she hits every Tuesday night because she has late classes and then heads straight to church.

For you, I am sure that you are correct. But for me...yes, my LDL is high, but my HDL is also high. My A1C is excellent. My triglycerides are low. I have absolutely no family history of heart disease or diabetes (but I do of high cholesterol).

I have family history that is on both sides. And just to show how resistant I was, my A1C reached 13.4 before I took action. With my heart, my doctor had me carrying nitroglycerin tabs. I don't have to do that anymore. I was a mess and have come a long way, but should have taken the great advice much sooner.

I love the fact that we have a Chick Fil A discussion next to a cholesterol discussion. Irony?

I get the grilled chicken and eat about 1/2 or less of the bun. Then I ruin it all by drinking my carbs, but not all the time.

I like that we can have this discussion with civility.

Is this the first anniversary for your plus? I think you have to wait a year since it is a personal card but it should be a year from opening. You could look back on your first couple statements to see when your af posted. I would probably wait for them to post your anniversary points and then call in...

It will not reset your bonus clock or anything.
definitely know PCing does not reset the bonus clock since I did it last year.
your AF would post 2/1 if you opened the card in January, you could call to PC after the card has been opened a year or wait until 2/1 when the AF posts...Chase will refund the AF for the Plus
Just checked my old statements. AF posted 1/1/2019 so I guess it will post on 1/1/2020. I'll wait until then to PC. Do the anniversary points show up quickly after the AF posts?

I am trying to get motivated to call for a retention offer on my Gold card. Annual fee appeared this week, and I want to keep it, but it would be nice to have a little help in replacing the airline credit - the gift card was a justification for me. I'd also like it in the form of a statement credit versus MR's, but can't remember if anyone has gotten anything other than MR's.

Also, my xmas shopping is pretty much done so not big tickets for the next while, so I need a 'small' spending incentive. Like spend 1k to 1.5k get $100 credit. I've been putting maybe 1k a month on this card, but not sure that's enough. I don't MS so can't really raise it by much. And, recently I've been slapping as much as possible on my Hyatt card as I had an incentive and those points are worth .03 to me.

Tom Bricker wrote an article about it. He said it’s the best character breakfast at wdw now
