It’s a dealer thing. If you are financing, there are more strict rules about it but cash buyers have more flexibility. It’s something you can negotiate too. We were recently told we could put 1k on a cc but we’ve bought several cars from this dealer and I asked if we could Do more and they allowed the entire $5.5k.
I was just considering this card earlier today, maybe this is a sign I should. It would be my first MR earning card and I do cross supporting with DH. So would this be a good card to start. Which AmEx has a 20,000 support bonus that maybe I should start with first?INCREASED AMEX OFFER FOR BLUE BUSINESS PREFERRED
Old links will NOT update automatically BUT if you generate a new link for the BBP it will show 15k MRs for $5k MSR. (This is an increased offer vs. the standard 10,000 MRs for $3k MSR). It says the offer expires in 1/29/20.
I guess it's hard to say whether 5,000 more MRs is worth $2k MSR BUT it's always nice to apply for the highest offer anytime you get an Amex card.
Additionally, if you have a BBP you will RECEIVED 15k MRs if you generate a link from that card. AND you can generate a link to ANY other Amex card including the increased personal Delta offers.
I know there's lots to unpack here but a quick summary:
DoC's writeup on this here:
- For those looking to APPLY for a BBP, check out the increased offers some risers are sharing on The DISchurners Amex Page
- For those with support links on DISchurners, update your BBP link (you can also leave the old link if you want to show both offers)
- For those holding a BBP currently, regenerate your Amex support links FROM that card to earn 15k MRs for ANY support click to any other Amex card.

I can’t advise whether this is the best card to start with or not. I will say that it’s a nice card to have since it’s a $0 AF biz card that keeps your MRs active.I was just considering this card earlier today, maybe this is a sign I should. I’m a perfect example. While not a big participant in sports, I managed multiple accidents as a child resulting in stitches. Lots of them. No broken bones until age 23 when I tripped on the living room floor and broke a bone in my foot. Next broken bone was not until age 49, broke my knee when I slipped in my own driveway. A slip at work resulted in a broken wrist. You know girl's soccer ranks higher in injuries! My daughter has played since she was 3 (12 seasons now). The first any only concussion she's had.....She got in gym class during "reindeer games". My son has played hockey since he was 3 ( 7 seasons now) and he broke his elbow at skateboard camp, and then his wrist when his sister stepped on it.
My point is injuries happen probably more often in life, LOL.
Yeah it was pretty crappy here. Not sure the final on snow, but probably at least 3 inches os snow.anything has to be better than what we have here!!!
We didn’t give out much because we were actually out trick or treating in the awful weather. DS insisted on going out at 3 when it officially starts and the snow and wind was bad enough that visibility was about a block. It actually slowed/stopped by 4ish so we went out with the cousins, stayed out until 6. It end at 7 here. Actually saw quite a lot of people out considering the weatherI had 3 kids come to my door for trick or treat tonight.
I'm the house with the full sized bars, too!
Now I've got gobs of candy. The weather here is abysmal. Kinda sad.

Your trick or treating starts at 3? That seems super earlyI’m a perfect example. While not a big participant in sports, I managed multiple accidents as a child resulting in stitches. Lots of them. Yes, DVC members with a blue card can enter at 2pm with up to 7 guests. This change started last year with MNSSHP.can DVC get in earlier? We are going in Dec and have a party planned for a day we have an AP blackout date. I thought 4pm was the earliest you could enter but would our DVC card get us in sooner?
I had some good (for me) AMEX offers this morning. Verizon Wireless! (Finally) $100 of $500. Levis, Dry Goods, Shutterfly and Von Maur.
Darn Verizon offer, got it on my account and DHs.
*looks at new phones again...*
Wow, I had no idea there was an official name for the sleeve. Thank you! Hmmm interesting strategy to balance it on the carry-on. I was trying to hold my Jansport on the suitcase and it was flopping around the airportThe Motherlode Weekend doesnt have the traditional Valet sleeve but you could tighten the backpack straps and put those over your suitcase. An idea if you dont have any places locally that carry the Motherlode is to order from Amazon and test fit it. Should be a free return if you have Prime (or know someone that does and you could used their account).
Thank you! I didn't realize that was the differentiation between the lines. Motherlode really fits the name with what it shows it can hold! The Professional series may be better in line for what I typically put in personal item.Sounds like a great trip!
The motherload bags are intended more as a primary packing bag, but the professional backpack line as a personal item/laptop bag. They have the sleeve to go over the suitcase handle.
I've been eyeing the professional slim backpack. Even though its less elegant, it makes more sense for me, personally, to use a daypack that will double as an every day bag on our trip as my personal item. If I was still traveling for work often, I would have already jumped on the professional slim.
Thanks, glad I was not crazy and didn't just miss the strap. LOL Love that he has the one I am eyeing. It sounds like it holds a bunch of stuff and would adequately fit what I need. I would carry similar stuff (minus the binder and calc). I have no intentions of replacing my work bag since I don't walk far, but if I love it enough, it may just happen! No straps like that on the motherlode.
DH has the flight bag. He uses it as his everyday work bag and then can easily fit a packing cube if he needs to travel for a few days for work and still fit it under the seat. And it has the strap to hook it to a carry on handle. Everyday he carries laptop, charger, binder, graph paper pad, drawings for work, measuring tape, laser measurer, graphing calculator, headphones, miscellaneous stuff like keys/pencils/batteries. It's nowhere close to full. He keeps everything in the small front pockets and the laptop pocket, and really only gets in the middle pocket when he puts in clothing/toiletries for travel.
My MVMCP pictures over the years are hilarious. Sometimes I am in shorts and flip flops, sometimes I am in a jacket and gloves. Last year Orlando was cooler than the NE.We're running into HS before we fly out on the 16thI hope the weather cooperates too! We've been once at this same time of year and we almost froze. Thankfully, we were prepared so we stayed warm but I was disappointed. When I leave CO in the winter, I want WARMTH lol!
