I will say that I can't seem to figure out reddit. This board is just so much easier. I will make an effort though.
Don’t worry, 95%+ of the conversation should remain right here. What we are attempting to move over there is discussion and data points related to advanced strategies and loopholes. That’s a very minimal piece of what happens here BUT it is the thing most interesting information to potential moles or vultures that could be lurking about :D

My original plan was to apply for a CIC next but now Dh is thinking I should apply for a CIP instead. Then he would apply for the CIC when he’s able (which I think is later this month). I believe I’m good 9/17 and he thinks he’s good 9/30. We just got flood insurance that we have until 10/9 to pay for. What do you guys think?

I’m not sure it really matters which order you do it in. Does he have a support link for you to use for your CIP app?

@Lain Sorry I lost my quote, but you were responding I think to @CoP Luv maybe about PCing the Amex Plat just a few pages ago. I’m planning to do that soon for P2’s plat. Somehow I was under the impression that PCing wouldn’t keep you from getting a bonus on that card down the road. But that is not true? I guess I need to think some more about how to handle that.

The Plat is a personal charge card, so you can only PC to another of Amex’s personal charge cards. That’s either the personal Green ($95 AF) or the Gold ($250 AF).

However, if DH has never gotten the bonus on either card, do not PC to them for no bonus. This is because almost all of Amex’s card applications have the following “lifetime language”: "Welcome offer not available to applicants who have or have had this Card." (Note not whether you’ve gotten a bonus on the card; just having or having had it is enough to bar you from the bonus.)

If you PC DH’s Plat to a Green or Gold, and he’s never had either card before, then by PCing to it he will “have or have had this Card,” even if he’s never received a SUB on that card product, and you’ll have made him ineligible for a SUB on that card product ever — unless by some miracle you find an application that doesn’t contain the lifetime language restriction.

My staples credit on the freedoms just posted. Took over a week but glad they credited.

Does anyone know how it works if you cancel your CSR but have trips booked on those points? Thinking of changing DH CSP to a CSR. Which then means I don’t need the CSR.
The trips booked stay the same, but you lose the CSR travel protection on them

I was able to book a couple of Southwest flights yesterday $69/3968 points from MCO to DCA (Reagan). Flights are Nov 7, but that price/nonstop was available all week. Just a day or two earlier there was nothing decently priced into DCA - most wanna getaways were over $200. It is a fare sale for a couple of days that I got an email about and I had just made plans with a couple of friends to drive to Disney with me and fly back. Flight time was 8:55 to 10:55 which works well for getting picked up or catching the Metro from DCA. I did not see anything good/cheap for BWI. This is the best I've seen since the $35 flights from 2 years ago, where we flew my daughter and 2 babies home for $105 total (in points).
That's what I paid for my Thanksgiving and Christmas flights from MCO. Going to MCO was only $49/2.5k points. I am now looking for flights in March. (And secretly hoping the Max8 issue continues.)

Yep, we have a link he could generate for support. The main reason is because I’m next to get a CIP (instead of dh). As per our warning this morning, I won’t explain any further than that.
I think his reasoning is sound :D I like how you guys ate thinking a couple steps out - it’s great to strategize like that.

Think I'm doing this right from what I learned here:

Bought $250 Happy Guy GC at Giant grocery during 8x bonus with a CC that earns 3x at grocery.
Payed for $250 Disney GC with Happy Guy GC.
Apply Disney GCs toward DVC Dues (but only when I have enuf GCs for the remainder of the year, a requirement I believe)

$ 7.50 savings on 3% grocery rewards card (some day I'll have a 6% rewards card)
$ 30.00 savings on fuel rewards ($2/gallon discount from 8x GC bonus at grocery)
15% discount

I had gotten an offer on one of my Amex cards for $20 off 100 and got a e-gift certificate. Then used that through the Southwest Shopping portal (7x points) for the Ebag motherlode weekender Jr. I would have gotten some compression packing cubes but I have more than I can use already. Does anyone know if this works for personal item for Frontier or is it to big?
I hadn't seen an answer for you yet. I've used mine several times, I just make sure it's not too stuffed/bulging. I've never been stopped so far...
I can only fit shampoo, conditioner and body wash in my bag. My brush, hair ties and deodorant goes in the backpack. I had to pack my razor and toothbrush/toothpaste separate, but I like packing full bottles. I coupon and get them cheap so we will just throw them out after. I never really pack any makeup or lotions so Idk how people find this sufficient. I’ll probably just throw my stuff in a plastic bag again.
I got this one: https://www.ebags.com/product/dakine/shower-kit-medium-travel-kit/362860?productid=10687420
I fit my brush, our toothbrushes (electric, the case has a spot for two heads so we share the handle when traveling), 2 contact cases plus a spare pair for me, razor, regular deodorant for DH and travel size for me, my solid stick face wash, a scrubby pad for my face, qtips in a little tin, nail clippers, hair ties/bobby pins, and bandaids. But the face stick is super big so I think I'm going to get rid of that.

Plus my tiny makeup bag - I've been working on paring down anyways, and started buying travel sized mascara because it's way cheaper than the normal size... so I got this little like 3inx4in flat pouch and have a compact mirror, mascara, eye shadow, travel eyeshadow brushes, tiny eyeliner pen, concealer, and solid stick combo blush/lip color crayon.

Then the liquids bag(s) get travel toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner for me depending on where we are going, and then I have some refillable tubes/tubs because I hate buying travel sized because they're expensive and also I don't normally need 3oz of most things, so all my refillable ones are 0.5/1oz. So those have contact solution, shaving cream, my shampoo/conditioner, hair product, and sometimes face lotion...
