You have to get the flexible ticket vs the specific date ones so they are over $100 each more. So that would be included in the bridging price?
Delta has the the package for $3912 or 195,600 miles. I can transfer MRs. When I cancel I would (hopefully) have 4 10 day park hoppers and get back a $825 voucher. In my mind that makes the cost for tickets $1125 which is $294 each for a ten day hopper. If the prices are the same as now bridging to an AP would cost about $300 more per ticket. That would give me APs for about $600 each getting me a great deal if all the ducks line up!
There is a really good thread on upgrading tickets and they'd be able to answer better, but I had UCT tickets and upgraded to APs for my boys. They had 6 day hoppers b/c that was what we needed when I bought them without the foresight that I would upgrade. My price paid was the price of current 6 day hoppers at wdw, subtracted from the current AP price at WDW...which was like $300something, if I recall. The conventional wisdom is get the highest discounted ticket from UCT to upgrade, so I assume you would want to get the most expensive ticket you can thru delta as well.

I just got emails from rakuten (ebates) that my offers at Staples tracked. These are the ones from early August and were clearly on the no fee VGCs I got then. Did anyone have any trouble with these, taken back or account shutdown? I remember someone pointed out GCs were excluded. It was so long ago, I just assumed they didn’t track due to gift cards.

Ha, that’s why I got an email yesterday telling me I had cash back pending! I couldn’t figure out what that would be from but just read the email briefly and didn’t look into it.

@DisneyMandC I know you were trying ti get dh to cut down on his tv watching but I just found old/original top gear on discovery! No idea how long or why but I like it. BBC America doesn't seem to show them much any more if at all.

ETA seems they aren't showing more any time soon but MTHD which is motor trend does show them but not a lot. I did set it to dvr the one with their road trip from vegas to palm springs where they race the police near the mexico border. I remember it being funny. There are some that make me laugh every time I watch, like the one where they build their own trains :rotfl2:

Whaaaaaat! Good to know, thanks!!

Dorian now a 5. And The Weather Channel is actively talking about the eastern coast of Florida again.
I've concluded we will know when we know. I'm not going to worry at all. Going down tomorrow and if I need to leave to come home early I will. Worst case scenario is I rent a car and drive the 10 hours home. Meanwhile, I am going to enjoy what I get of my trip.
Now if I lived on the coast, I'd be watching much more carefully, with my bag packed and important things secured just in case of a last minute change that forced me to bail on staying home. I think that is all you can do with this storm. It just isn't acting like a normal hurricane.
And poor Bahamas. I woke up to see it will be sitting there wreaking havoc for even longer now. Anyone know if CC is in that cone? I feel awful for the Bahamians.

I actually was thinking the same thing when I saw it was a studio. I would for sure take our frozen meals just in case. I’m still not convinced we should leave. I think one thing that’s really swaying my decision is how many people have stayed in our neighborhood and our town.

Did you make a decision? A lot of people around us have left, though I'm not sure if they already had plans for the long weekend or left because of Dorian.

Yesterday people here were jovial and cheering that we were going to be spared, but that attitude has shifted. I am not as hopeful as I was yesterday with the NHC morning update. I think we may have a few hours left today to make a final decision.

I have a room booked at the JW Marriott on Marco Island for a few days as a backup plan but I haven't decided if we will leave as yet. We are currently under a Tropical Storm Warning, which may change to a Hurricane Warning as the day progresses. Until Dorian hits the open water after she thrashes the Bahamas we won't know where she's heading and when. A category 4 or worse category 5 hurricane is very, very serious and should not be taken lightly.

My thoughts and prayers are currently with the Bahamas. Very scary situation for everyone on the island.

Ooohhh, great resort. Just go and relax as much as you can and try to enjoy a few beach days. Praying for your home and family/friends.

I believe CC/Abaco islands will be impacted.

I can't make the AF on the Platinum personal or biz work for me. I would need at least a 100k offer to pull the trigger on one of those. I'd still have to cancel after a year. I like my Gold. The AF is worthless, but the 4 points on grocery's and restaurants fit my spending habits. I'm hoping for an increased SuB on the blue biz card.
Agreed! DH jumped the gun on this card without fully vetting with me! We did get value out of it for the bonus, airline credit, some promos, Dell credit and Lyft credits (not 100k 😟), but at this point not worth it for us to renew.

DH has had his personal Amex for years and he is very emotionally attached to it. It's been Plat, Black (don't ask) and Gold over the years, but we get the most value out of it as a Gold card with the grocery and restaurant multipliers.

175 mph with further strengthening possible. Looks like the storm could peak around 185 mph.

That is crazy. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around that number. There have only been 2 hurricanes to make landfall in the US at that intensity - Camille in 1969 (175 mph) and the Florida Keys Labor Day Hurricane in 1935 (185+ mph).

Along with the DLR board here I suggest Disneyland Daily. She started as a partner with WDW prep school for DLR and then went out on her own. She's fun to follow on fb and insta but is also in the parks every week making sure the stuff she talks about on her site is still accurate etc. I was just on there earlier looking for max pass info for a friend that's at the park now and needed more clarification on the timing.
I'm going to check this site out. I just realized our Disneyland trip is 2 months away and I know next to nothing about it!

Castaway Cay is below Great Abacao but pretty close. I can't imagine there won't be significant land erosion, etc to Castaway Cay after Dorian passes by.

I hadn't even thought of this option to use the Delta promo... I was playing around with summer 2020 options last night and didn't see (or think to look) for park tickets. We have a Fall 2020 WDW trip planned. We don't need hotel in Orlando (DVC) so I didn't even price packages there.

So, if I read correctly, if you cancel you get a Delta credit/voucher for the package amount? Can the voucher be applied to any Delta flights? I could use the tickets at Disney (and upgrade to DVC AP) and the flights for whatever we end up doing summer 2020. Does that sound right?

My brother has a house on a Abaco. Obviously our chief concern is for the people there, but I have to assume the house will just be gone. My brother is in home construction and builds homes to hurricane grade, but I don’t think anything can survive a cat 5.

Especially since that cat 5 is sitting there for days. Just awful.

So I am wondering if WDW will be slow and I could get some value out of MNSSHP in that case. There are parties Monday and Friday. I know alot of people were cancelling Monday and some moved to Friday...just from reading online...but I wonder if Monday will be packed now with locals, if school is out in FL. I actually have no idea if schools are out.

I have a Chase referral question. My BIL is interested in (sorta) getting into the game, and after I talked to him about options he and SIL are going to go for a Chase Freedom Unlimited and a CSP (tried to convince him CSR but he can't stomach the AF). I currently have a Freedom and a CSR and I can't seem to generate a referral link to CSP for him. I found the area to do it but when I put in the info it says I am bot eligible (from either of my accounts). Do you need to hold a specific Chase card to refer to it? Am I doing something wrong?

As an aside, my BIL has a business and with his business spend and personal card options... oh, could they travel well! They have next to zero interest in "playing the CC points game", they just want a couple cards for long term use to earn flight to Disney in 2021.

BIL also told me his dad (they run the business together) recently got a call from their CC (Capital One, he thinks) that they have maxed out the number of points they can accrue!!! His dad didn't even realize they had been accruing points for the last 20 years and never even looked at them. I told him to get me the info and I could help them plan a great family trip with all those points, LOL!
