Here's an odd DP: I applied for the Amex Blue Business Cash card for DH a few days ago because DH was getting the popup on the Hilton Biz. Since tonight is the last night for the Hilton Biz promo, I decided on a whim to apply for him again... and he was approved, no pop up.

But, it was kind of weird. He got the "we've received your application" message. Then, the screen changed to "this offer has expired" or something similar, I'm not exactly sure what it was. I figured it hadn't gone through, but he was approved a few minutes later. I wonder if he'll get the bonus? Anybody have any guesses?

Help and input please!

I am going to part with my skymiles and book a Delta vacation package while it is double the miles. I really think these spring break flights are not going to come down and just having to get two nights rooms to have the value go twice as far seems worth it. I called again and it is a minimum 2 nights rooms. My thought is arrive after midnight first night and use free Marriott certificate. Then next two nights Disney room. Then rest of trip DVC. (I hate to pay for a room at Disney we would barely use). My question: Caribbean Beach? Beach Club? Grand Floridian? GF is $980 more than CBR. Beach Club is $392 less than GF. Rest of trip will then 3 nights at Riviera and 2 nights at BLT one bedroom. If we just flew in and didn't worry about using Marriott free night we would start at GF and then have 4 nights in the Riviera studio.

Right now I am leaning toward GF since it seems like a good chance, but intrinsic cheapness with both money and points makes me want to settle with CBR.

The rep at Delta said she could hold it until tomorrow afternoon...so I just need to decide.

Thanks. :)

My car got a flat tire and a dead battery today! That was a fun surprise in the parking garage trying to leave work. And I’m not currently working on an msr. Boo.

Guess I’ll put it on my plat to keep the RATs happy.

The Plat has a roadside assistance benefit if that helps any.

Two of my favorite resorts in there 😍

I would probably vote for BC and Stormalong Bay since you say it is a spring break trip. It also falls in the middle for miles used.

I would consider GF if you want to go back and forth from MK a lot. Who knows, the walking path could even be completed by then 😂 CBR is not my favorite, but it would be a very easy transfer to Riviera. You could probably just walk over with your bags.

Sorry if this did not help AT ALL lol

The security guard at work helped me. And we have AAA. My husband works in the worst part of our city and has gotten a flat from a giant pothole and had a tire slashed. It’s worth it for us.

Card benefits didn’t even occur to me at the time! I think the csr has some benefit too doesn’t it?

Yikes! Not sure. I also got 'this offer has expired' at first. Then I clicked out of it and clicked my link again, was allowed to input my information, and then got the popup for no bonus. Asking me if I wanted to proceed. I then shut it down and said forget it.

We talked to our neighbor tonight and she said they’re definitely staying. She said they’ll help us put our shutters up and if we need to drain the pool some. She made me feel a lot better about the whole thing. I think we’re for sure staying now. It’s less stressful to take the cats if we don’t have to. Our generator is full of gas and we have a couple of cans for extra. Dh ordered a switch today to hook up to the generator so it can run on natural gas as well. That way we can just hook it up to the house
We really bonded with our neighbors when we stayed for Irma, which was nice! Everyone knew who stayed and what their status was.

you will get your points back but the $5.60 each flight is not refundable unless you cancel within so many days. When you cancel it will ask how you want the refund if the option is to refund cc then I always choose that otherwise it will give you a credit to use within a year of original date of booking using the confirmation number
I didn’t know that. I thought that the $5.60 was refundable without restrictions.

Hurricane Irma Video

This is a video I took during a lull in Irma. We have hurricane screens (rated up to 150mph) that protect our covered patio and I stood behind them and took the video.

By the time she had passed through (along with the tornado that our contractor thinks hit our house) the pool was full of yard debris. Actually the entire yard was full of debris -- it took me almost a day to clean it up.

Half way through my Colorado trip. First part in Denver for a work conference. Stayed at the Hyatt Regency by the convention center. It was very nice. I was on the 26th floor and had a Mountain View. It was close to the 16th street mall. Not much time to really do much sightseeing outside my meetings.

Today I drove to Breckenridge. Took the long way and went over Loveland pass. Absolutely beautiful. There is road work on the pass so there were two places where it was one lane and had a flagger. The delay wasn’t very long either time so very glad I did this.

Stopped in Frisco for lunch and walked down Main Street. Also visited the museum and historic park. I really enjoyed that and free.

Finally got to Breckenridge and the Residence Inn. Used my 35k free cert and URs for 3 nights. Each room is a suite with a kitchen (full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, dish washer). Spent some time lounging at the pool (very small) looking at the mountains.

Plans are tomorrow hiking, shopping, gondola ride all in Breckenridge. Friday, planning to drive to Glenwood Springs via Independence pass and visit the hot springs.

I can’t believe I forgot. While in Frisco, stopped at Safeway. Picked up $600 total of VGCs and MGCs. I thought I had the offers on both our accounts but I only had VGCs. That should meet Delta Biz MSR. I did also buy a few snacks and fruit so not just the gift cards.

This is only if you change your points flight, and it had to originally be booked before 10/2018. If you modified it it made the $5.60 non refundable. They dont do that anymore. But the warning still comes up.
I’m confused. It used to non refundable if you changed your points flight, but now it is refundable? I have cancelled and changed flights before that I booked with points and was always refunded, but it’s been awhile since I cancelled one.

Yeah we don’t have flood insurance. Our neighbor said she’ll tell us the name of hers because she thought they got their’s like 2-3 days before a hurricane. Dh doesn’t think we need it because we’re not in a flood zone but I feel like we need to still get it
I bought coverage last year. After stressing during Irma, we decided it was worth it. I could swear it didn’t kick in until at least 30 days after purchase.

I’m going to call tomorrow and see if they can do it this last minute. If not, I guess we just deal with it. We’re not in a flood zone but we’re close to one

Enjoy! We love Summit county! Such a great time to be up in the mountains.
