@jennaceleste - apparently the DIS is being slow tonight in updating its PM system. Normally within 30 minutes of hitting 10 messages you can send a message.

You are able to access DISchurners, right?

You should also be able to see your welcome message when logged into reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/message/inbox/ OR https://old.reddit.com/message/inbox/

Sorry for the issues there, it's rare we encounter somebody on the thread who has made less than 10 posts, LOL!

Ok finally unlocked from posting jail again LOL Maybe it has to be >10? Who knows... Let's see if this post gets me locked up again. Or maybe it's a sign I just need to go to bed for the night!

Woohoo, not locked out!
Yeah - as an anti-spam feature they block new folks from commenting frequently and sending PMs. You should have full DIS access soon (I'd guess you'll be able to PM in the next 30 minutes or at worst by tomorrow morning). If you used those links I posted you should be able to get into DISchurners and see your messages there. Good luck on your biz app - also make sure if you are applying as a sole prop (which is what we recommend) that you use your FIRSTNAME LASTNAME as the name of your business! Don't get cute and give it a name or you'll run into issues :D

I had that happen on a smaller scale. Once the statement closed I was able to go in and just transfer points to cover the negative amount, lol. It felt odd but it got it all straight.
This is on my CSR so I do have points for the taking. I don't think I have ever seen it negative and red like that. I feel like in the past Chase hasn't taken URs back from me. I just never earned new URs until I got past the amount that was owed. Good thing that 20,000 CIP referral was just transferred :thumbsup2

I knew it was a joke lol. I love Orange, but I'm not sure my mom could even do Green

I've never been to WDW. You have choices on an attraction experience???? Must check this out some day!

This is going to be one of those nights where the morning people wake up and say, "GAH - how did you guys generate 5 pages of comments!!!" (I Love working the midnight shift on the CC thread) :D :D

Of course I am off tonight (Recovering from that motorcycle trip). Normally I sit there at work staring at this thread. Tonight I'm trying to do homework but the thought of creating a powerpoint about an economic event of the last 100 years is putting me to sleep.

Ehhh you may want to skip it. lol Disney only added the less intense green version after people started experiencing chest pain and nausea from the ride requiring hospitalization. 2 or 3 people with pre-existing conditions actually passed away after riding the original version soooooo it isn't as exciting as it seems. There are so many disclaimers and pamphlets handed out while you enter and wait. There are even vomit bags on the ride. Green was actually made even LESS intense in 2017.

I'd recommend Spaceship Earth instead ::yes::

You want to talk mega-fail... How about taking your wife who is deathly afraid of plane crashes on Mission Space Green. Yeah...that one didn't go well.........

Wow... I am glad she was able to fly home after that!

How does she do with Soarin' and FoP? I know sometimes heights can also be a trigger. The simulations are what really gets me. Soarin' and FoP are fine, but Universal required dramamine for all those simulators 🤢

She hasn't ridden FOP but does fine on Soarin'. It's all about the plane and Mission Space was way too plane-like for her. Her issue isn't a motion-based issue, it's a paralyzing fear of dying in a fiery ball of twisted metal from 30,000 feet that defies all logic...

Ahh, best to avoid it altogether then

Thank you. I’m sure we will. Oh I am so glad to hear that. Scotland is such a lovely country with such rich history. I cried at Culloden during the re-enactment of the battle in that surround vision theater. Learning about some of the history from the Outlander series seems to have stirred a sense of connection to the country.
Just want to add that I started watching the Outlander on Netflix because of all the recommendation here and I love it! I even got my DH hooked as well! Aye!

So just to be clear, you’re looking at R/T tickets that are roughly $550/person?

What part of March are you looking at? Spring break in the latter half could really affect prices.
I was looking at the first half of March. I can go anytime during the first few weeks of the month.

Hey guys! So today I got an email from Amex with the subject line: Small Business owners – We’d like your feedback. It offered a $20 check for a 10 minute survey about possible r a 50k FN anniversary certificate and the ability to earn a 50k FN cert by spending $60k, while others kept the 35k FN certs; the ability to earn Platinum Elite status by spending $75k; the ability to spend your way — something like $30k — to a room upgrade,

I didn't get the survey, but I did get two emails from them, one reminding me that I could get an extra 35K cert for spending 60K.

I just paid my annual fee and also sort of accidentally spent $25 on the card.
There are so many good cards out there now. I don't see a need for anyone to want to use this particular card as a daily driver, but the possible upgrade to a 50K cert does interest me. Just not for a $60K spend. Maybe a higher annual fee?

@SouthFayetteFan and @PolyRob

My mission space story- my husband and I went to Epcot for the first time. Mission space had the shortest wait so we hopped in line. We had never heard of the ride (I know I know) but we figured we’d just give it a try. Well thankfully a cast member tells us to do green for our first go. However, I had no idea they put you in tiny little pods until we were being seated. Guess who has significant claustrophobia?! Yea I scared the everloving bananas out of the poor 8ish year old boys stuck riding with us.

Hey guys! So today I got an email from Amex with the subject line: Small Business owners – We’d like your feedback. It offered a $20 check for a 10 minute survey about possible revamps to the SPG/Bonvoy Biz. From DoC posts about similar Amex surveys, I knew I had to select that I was a business owner (and not just employed full time) in order to qualify. It also asked a little about my business, the hotels I’ve stayed at, which brands, how many times in the past year, and what loyalty programs I belonged to, etc., in order to be eligible.

The survey presented 12 different variations of new benefits on the Bonvoy Biz, while keeping the $125 AF and existing 4x bonus categories, and asked how likely would the benefit changes make me spend more on the card, and whether the benefits listed made the card better than other cards. What caught my attention were some card options included a $100/$125/$150 travel, Marriott or resort credit, while other versions included a token amount of Uber credit with your stay, capped at some number per year; some versions included a 50k FN anniversary certificate and the ability to earn a 50k FN cert by spending $60k, while others kept the 35k FN certs; the ability to earn Platinum Elite status by spending $75k; the ability to spend your way — something like $30k — to a room upgrade, higher % bonus points on stays, and late checkout (which seemed kind of redundant to me if you have a high enough Elite status); and 3x Marriott points on non-category spend (basically restoring the base spend value of the old SPG cards) but capped at either $30k or $50k a year, then back to 2x. There were a few options that bumped up Marriott category spend to 12x! I replied that I was most likely to increase my spend on cards with the 3x base rate and the 50k FN certs. The travel or resort credits are also interesting and would effectively negate the AF, but they don’t really encourage ongoing spend.

Anyway, Amex seems to be thinking about revamping the Bonvoy Biz! We shouldn’t expect to see all of the above make it onto one card, but they’re some of the ideas that Amex is considering.

That would be the only thing to get me to use the card beyond gas. I truly miss the old SPG card.
