Had so much fun at the dis pandora party. We rode navi once and fop twice.

I’ve been seeing this around! So cute!
Which sweatshirt are you after? We can try to look. We go in like every store we pass lol.

It's at two places in mk and at world of disney according to the app which also says no mediums. I'll see how the others fit and ask if it seems it would fit better.

Decisions, decisions. Just checked and OKW is available for the last night of our vacation. We currently have Coronado booked as DVC was fully booked.

Getting OKW should allow us to stay in the same room all week but the pool at Coronado looked pretty neat too. OKW would also make it “free” since we have DVC points left.

Rest of the family is still asleep so they can’t weigh in. Darn alarm clock in hotel was set for 6am and woke me up. Luckily DH and DD didn’t hear it before I was able to turn it off.

Edited to add: ended up grabbing OKW and cancelling Coronado. Hopefully less logistics to deal with.

After 2 years of opening a lot (well a lot for us) of cards, I had decided to slow down. However, since DH has had his CSR for a year we have become fans of the PP lounges. I'll be flying without him at least 5 times in the next year, so on a whim yesterday I got a Hilton Honors Surpass. I figure I can use the 130,000 points and free weekend night somewhere. Managed to refer from his Blue Cash Everyday which has had no spend at all this year. I only have a BCP which I use at the grocery store. So it was a good day.

Got both mine and DH's Citi cards canceled now. I'll see about reapplying in about a week or so. My CIP2 MSR will be finished this week. DH's Hilton Biz MSR is done and I'm just waiting for the points to post. I'll go ahead and book our points stay at Hilton Tokyo Bay once those are in his account.

$3300 left on DH's CIP3 and $3700 left on Hilton Surpass!

My ds10 just flew to Texas by himself for two weeks in July. He did awesome even though he was nervous for his flight there. My ds8 will go next summer alone.
By 16yo, most airlines don’t even consider the child as a minor so there’s no hoops to jump through like there are with a younger kiddo.
I’m sure she’s thrilled to escape your parents but just how fun for you girls! You seem like a great sister!!

I feel like she is totally capable of flying alone just my parents are super strict. I like to think I’m a good sister. lol When I was in NY I had invited them over for sleepovers all the time. We tried making our own pizzas, went to college sports games, Coney Island, frozen on ice lol, the zoo. Now I’m so far and I don’t see my siblings much. I took my sister to Disney last year, but I have not taken my youngest sister so I feel guilty taking my other sister twice before she gets to go once. (going together isn’t an option, they fight like crazy and don’t really like each other that much right now lol) my younger sister is my moms baby and no way would she be allowed to fly alone. I think she would be nervous to fly alone too. I think the last time she was on a plane was in 2012? So she was 8. Sister16 flew with me last summer for the first time since 2012 too and she didn’t remember being on a plane at all. The whole take off and landing thing was completely new to her. She is going to college next year and I can definitely see her going to school far from home so I explained to her how to check your bags, what to do going through a security and how to find your gate and baggage claim.

Hope you get to make the trip happen. I think it is great you are thinking of them and planning fun stuff together.

My kids (one an adult and one near) never flew on their own. I realized I did everything and they weren't learning. They weren't paying attention to learn, just following mom! So one trip we stepped off the plane and I said take us to baggage claim and the rental car and let them navigate the airport. Now they are pros!

I am at 2% as well. Just looked and it does say 4% in store, was 2%. I made 2 trips to staples this week, got the email saying I used an offer. The first cashback showed up today - about 4 days later. $0.23. I am not sure VGCs are tracking. I did buy the $200 VGC and a charging cable. I think I only got the 2% on the charging cable. Would love to hear other DPs on this.
An update on my DP. I really wish these things tracked sooner!

Woke up to another ebates email for cash back. This was for $6.60. So I thought it must be for VGC purchases. I should have looked on the first one. My $0.23 cash back was from 8/2 on a pack of pencils DS needed to go back to school. To be honest, I didn't realize I had even linked it on ebates then. The $6.60 was for $330 on VGC on 8/5 ($70 went on CF card since I had 10% offer up to $7 there, rest on CIC). So I did get cash back on my VGC. Not sure if they will claw back, just hope they don't shut me down.

:offtopic: Does anyone know if Hyatt is Pepsi or Coke? I know Marriott is Pepsi >:(. Hoping Hyatt is Coke. I have a conference there in 2 weeks and hopefully won't have to scout out a convenience store to get a Coke.

I think that's so great that your trip with your sister was like a teaching experience. Was it a bigger airport?

I flew home lot in college but before that had only flown from LNK and OMA so not the same league as Denver, not even close! Went to Anchorage and Phoenix. I did also go to London in high school but I dont recall any of the process since they were moving over 300 of us through in large groups.

Yeah JFK terminal 4. We were in there a few times last summer because she visited me in VA too. I swear it’s like a two mile hike to baggage claim. I took her to the Delta Skyclub though and she loved that. If she were to fly alone I would have her fly Southwest out of the smaller airport on Long Island.

ETA my brother flew by himself last weekend to visit (he is 20) he was telling my dad how he was so excited to go to the lounge. I had to break the bad news and tell him that he couldn’t go with out me. My sister was bragging about it and had a ton of pictures on Snapchat lol

At least she got to do that with you. I went to denver alone and was so overwhelmed!

My aunt passed away last night. Shes been battling lung cancer and heart issues for several years. The cancer had spread and shes been in hospice care since March.

My dad is a piece of work. This is one of his sisters. He called my maternal grandfather... so I woke not only to a few messages about my aunt, but also one from my grandpa that was basically like, your dad called, w t f, we're not friends and I have no interest of being a source of info on you for him like he wants. So I told him about aunt. My grandparents were pretty close with this aunt and her family before, so he called my dad back... cause ya know, a decent person thing would probably be to notify him in this situation. But no, my dad was trying to use it as a way to get to me. Shameful.

ETA my grandpa doesnt cuss much in front of me, I was more trying to paraphrase the feeling behind his text
