When are you and DH going?

This is a trip for the weekend before Christmas - will likely be crazy busy! We're bringing the kids too, so getting a larger suite at Sapphire falls will alleviate some of the too much family togetherness that happens when you travel with both a teenager and an elementary schooler.

Question for all you Southwest experts: My DD is flying to Aruba, we have the tickets booked through SW, but she is now having to change the dates due to another commitment that she cannot get out of. Anyway, we have to change the first leg of her flight and there are not any Wanna Get Away fares left for the date we need for her.

Do the Wanna Get Away fares ever come back once they are gone? The flight is still over a month and a half away, and I will be checking daily (probably multiple times lol), but just wondered if I'm dreaming!

Yes I think we had early access. We did a ton before it got crowded. And this was right after it opened so maybe it's not as busy. It's a really fun water park.

WWYD? Ok,I would be VERY surprised if I'm not in the dreaded Amex popup territory by this points, I have quite a few cards,and I don;t spend much on them. So per my previous question about canceling my Hh Biz, I think I'm going to do that....but I got an Ascend offer on my Pers. Hh...spend 3k/get 150k points (!) this seems like a GREAT deal..........................
...........IF..... 1) when I click thru,if they hate me, will I get a popup so I don't waste my time trying this?
2) This WON'T count against my 5/24 status? (b/c it's an upgrade,not a new card?)
If these 2 things are right, then I think it's a win/win for me since I love Hh points, but I don;t want to waste a spot with another personal app right now....

I thought I'd share this in case anyone is in Rockland Trust's footprint. My kids did this program when they were young. Rockland Trust runs a summer reading incentive program each year. Kids can earn $2.50 per book read up to $25. The money is deposited into a savings account. I think the idea is to encourage reading and also saving. Of course, my kids cashed out right away.

My Plastiq check to my credit union posted to the HELOC this week. Won’t end up doing a high volume ms on this as we’re using it for legit education bills. But whenever they do a promo like they had in June it’ll be great! If the mcgc continue to run as debit with the lower fees, I may do some of those if the $ makes sense for me and saves me a few bucks.

How hard is it to open a Chase total business checking account with a "business?"

I got a mailer and it seems like a really easy way to get $300 with only $1,000 tied up. It says I have to go into my branch though so I wasn't sure if I would be interrogated or questioned about my "business" and 2 CIPs opened in the last 6 months. That wouldn't be wroth $300 lol

Thank you - that's what I was thinking. I looked and I can book much cheaper through the Chase Portal and will probably go that way. I have enough points in my account to get the Southwest ticket, so will probably do that as a safety until we can talk more about her flying another airline. The times are about the same, so I don't think it should be a problem.

I'm a little bit of a different person on r/churning. I posted some thoughts a few pages back though on why that's necessary because that place could be the death of churning if left unchecked.

I love your thoughts on this! I am definitely more of a consumer, but I try not to be.

I think it is for a few reasons. First, I'm mainly a "quiet" person IRL - I don't tend to talk much in group conversations and I'm definitely more of a listener than talker. Because of that, I tend to not jump in to these conversations as much as I probably should.

Second, compared to a lot of people, I have a very limited amount of knowledge on this subject. I love reading about it, but tend to stick to the easier aspects of points chasing because it suits my needs right now, so I'm not able to answer a lot of the questions that come up. Hopefully one of these days before too long, DH and I will be doing some more involved trips, but at this point, they are pretty straight forward because we have to stick to when everyone in the family is available. We usually have a few weeks in the summer to choose from, so that limits our options considerably.

Finally, I can usually only get on here a couple of times a day. This thread moves so fast that most questions have long since been answered by the time I even see them lol!

That being said - I'm so appreciative of the great community we have here. Everyone is so helpful and friendly!

I’ve been looking too and I can add it, but of course now I can’t get sorcerer Mickey to go through, which has been there for days. And that’s what my son wants. And I think his want wins lol
