It depends on which pre-paid card you're loading. AmEx Serve has a "green" card that is no-fee to reload. It carries a monthly fee, but if your account is at zero on your statement date, there is no fee--so just empty it before your statement closes.

Edit to add: Green is the color of the card (not green in the eco-friendly sense!)

You can load serve at WM too. I get it though my WM is super sketchy like when the guy said he was going to shoot me?? It’s fine though lol

Is it just the MOs you’ve had issues with there, or the Serve card too? I wasn’t sure where the problems came into play.

My SW gift card that I bought 3 days too early to use my CSR credit is still sitting out there as pending. Here's hoping it stays pending until tomorrow (would be amazing luck if it does).

I've just been loading these to Serve, so no money diverted from MSR. I also have Staples on Dosh. I just do $200 a day, so if I can get there 7 times that's 7000 UR and $35 back from Dosh.

Oh man, way to wait until the last minute Staples.

Now I wonder if I can split that transaction 3 ways? I've done 2 before with no problem. In an ideal world I'd do $100 on my ED for my $25 AO, $70 on my CFU for the Chase offer, and then put the rest on the BBP for the 10% AO. All of them are linked on Dosh so I'd cobble together the $5 max for the day (Dosh isn't a single transaction right?) That's not terribly greedy is it?

Just MOs. With serve I never get asked to see the card. I have been using the ones from the grocery store with the big GIFT CARD on it and it’s fine

I do multiple serve loads on one trip too. I usually do the main register and load $500 on mine and then load $500 on my SOs. Then I go to the Garden center and do the same thing and I have done the electronics section too but sometimes they tell me to go to the money center there.

ETA if I did 6 cards in one trip on the Gold card getting 4x on the $3000 minus the giftcard fees I’m looking at a profit of $114 for 15-20 mins of “work”

Some premium MBs are back but still no snack band. I’m wondering if I should give up on that one and just order a different one. I feel like a couple though are new ones that I didn’t see before.

The movers dropped our stuff off this morning. It took them about 3 hours. I emptied the kitchen boxes which took me 2 hours . I’m not sure what we’re gonna do with all of the boxes

Remember that each onsite stay gets you another set of magic bands. So if you make good use of your AP and stay onsite a few of those visits, you will have multiple opportunities to get the bands you want. I say get one thats available now and plan another quick onsite trip soon Florida resident hotel rates were fantastic early June.

Hmm. Maybe I do need to investigate this then. I always assumed it was just MO related and I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of all that. If it’s just sort of a straightforward go up to the register and do it thing, I might be interested.

I also know a lot of people on this thread have no issues using VGCs for MOs. It’s really depends on your area. Mine is not very MS friendly and I think I air my frustrations a lot lol

For everyone trying to order magic bands.
...I ordered 2 of the upgraded bands....box came today and only mine was the band ordered...DHs was gray ...Checked my cc and was just charged for one

Called the number on the invoice to see what happened ...the CSR let me pick from any of the $24.99 bands on the regular Disney shopping site and just charged $10. She said that the site is so overwhelmed with orders right now it has a lot of glitches

Well maybe they should have considered not shipping them to people whose trips are 6 months away. They really didn’t think this through.

So you can reload at any reigster (typically) in Walmart and not just the money center? Good to know. How about self checkout?

It’s really meant for the under banked. I imagine most people that have it don’t actually have a bank account and just bill pay with it.

@disneybirds I did it successfully until one day the manager saw me, chewed me out & stopped the transaction. I was sitting on a few hundred still so I tried a different day, different time, different cashier- same freaking manager caught me chewed me out again and chewed the cashier as well. If she could have shot lasers out of her eyes I’d be dead lol. Never. Again.

I remember someone had trouble doing it but I couldn't remember who it was. I'm soooo sorry you had to go through that! We have 2 Safeways near us and I consider myself lucky that no one has ever batted an eye!
@disneybirds It's worth a shot. Maybe try a small amount so you're not stuck with a huge amount of Safeway GCs. I shop there anyway so I'm not too worried if one day they say no.
