I have the biggest snake phobia. Grew up in PA next to a national forest and saw many, many snakes and poisonous ones. Worst experience was when the neighbor found one in her washing machine. It was on a screened in porch so not in the house proper. Now in OH, no poisonous snakes near me, just garter and black snakes but I still do not like seeing them.
I am totally with you! Hate, hate, hate snakes. We occasionally see black snakes in our yard and I run. DH chased one out of the yard and then was when I learned they could climb trees. So now I am scared one will fall from the trees every time I mow under the tree limbs. I can’t even watch Nagini in Harry Potter or Fantastic Beasts.

I usually do that and wrap it up, hand it to him and say, here is my bday gift. At least I know I am getting something I want.
For my bday, I asked to have my car detailed. It’s still dirty.
For our anniversary, I wanted the stone I lost out of anniversary band replaced. I got “I forgot” (the whole anniversary not just the ring). I got him a cruise. Although magically there was a bottle of champagne, a rose and big fluffy robe waiting for me when we got to our cabin. 😉
I may serioulsy need to rethink my desire to move to FL. I am afraid of bugs to the point I have nightmares. All this talk is grossing me out.
Our lanai is screened in
See, it's the alligators that freak me out. I remember we looked at a really nice house along a canal in Tampa and I could just picture my bichon getting eaten by one.

Florida was the only place I've lived where bugs did me in (a few roaches, ants, fleas, etc.) And I know chameleons are harmless but those things are creepy!
Listen y’all keep your snow and I’ll take the bugs :rotfl:

This is basically me whenever someone says they prefer the north (just replace waiting with snow lol).

Seriously though I joke being from the south I am actually cold blooded and must sun like a snake to live so being where it snowed all the time was harddddd. I’ll accept the bugs haha
The bugs don’t freak me out, but they annoy me and I wouldn’t tolerate them for long. I don’t mind anoles (the little lizards) but gators are a nope. My grandparents lived in FL when I was a kid. Humidity, gators, bugs...I’ll keep the snow for sure.

Saw this over on Flyertalk , and have to say, this and the fear of shutdown is one reason my Chase UR balance will never hit a million

PSA: UR Points Stolen! Try over the phone password
So this morning I woke up to find an e-mail from Chase that I had successfully moved 500K+ points from my CSR to Hyatt.

The problem is, I didn't move the points and I don't even have a Hyatt account. Found out through the rep that someone had called in and impersonated me, and was able to fool someone at Chase by knowing my card number and mother's maiden name. Three years of points gone overnight.

I'm pretty sure the hackers got my security info from some other breach and then tried it with Chase. Many companies use the exact same security questions...

Going forward I set up a call-in only password, one that I don't use anywhere else. Hopefully it will prevent this from happening again. I'd recommend that you guys set one up preemptively so that you don't have to wake up to a shock like mine!

I'm alternating between Citi AA and CIP for both P1 and P2, but I have room for more spend, and am sticking to 95 days between apps at the same bank. Any suggestions of other cards I should be hitting?

I plan to go for a CSR (or MDD) when it's time to redeem, or when the CIP loophole closes up. These UR and AA points are earmarked for a big vacation in late 2020, and I don't have any other specific goals--which is why I'm not sure what to pursue. Anyone see any obvious (or not-so-obvious) choices to add to the mix

Hotel Biz Card? Hilton, Marriott. I don’t know the current offers, but I’d think that direction, though you have room for personal cards too.

Also there are two McDonald’s with a mile of my apartment and one is .2 miles away but I still get it delivered lol

Are you getting the Happy Meals? We don’t usually eat McDonald’s, but my kiddo has been obsessed with collecting all the Toy Story 4 toys to build the RV. We’ll indulge her for Disney. (Btw, when did Disney start partnering with McDonald’s again for Happy Meal toys?)

I don’t get the happy meals but I did see they had Toy Story 4 toys.

No Staples offers on any of our combined 10 Chase cards. Seriously?!?

Lowes did pop up on my Freedom for 10% off where it was not there before. I will need to get over there before the end of the month.

I finally redeemed the $10 credit on the Amex Gold through Grubhub. Had a $12 credit for first order, plus 7% back on Ebates, plus the use apple wallet for MR’s. The out of pocket was $10. The fact that it was from a local Chinese place and the food was rather gross and half of it we threw away is MOO...

Happy weekend everyone!

What about the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain?

My parents watched my kids this week before summer camp starts. My older one LOVES McDonald’s. We’re already 4 toys in lol

See, lizards and snakes bother me more than the bugs. Even as a kid they grossed me out, like when they do that thing that makes their neck flare out. :crazy2::scared1:

I sit there and coo at them, "Oh, who's a pretty boy looking for a girlfriend?"

I've got a lovely blue green lizard that lives in my patio's stone wall. I no longer sit on the wall, and I double check under the chair cushions before sitting. He doesn't bother me but I don't want to be close enough to get personal. I think he came in with the stones when the patio was built a couple of years ago. He's also growing, probably 8-10 inches now.

Oooh, that one sounds very pretty. I do like the lizards around because I know they eat bugs. We've got one of those curly tailed lizards that hangs out on our walk way everyday. I've named him Fred. At dusk during the summer we get the big brown snails 🐌 on the walk way. I love them! Anyone who comes to our house has been forewarned to keep an eye out for my snails and watch where they are going. This year I'm thinking of adding lights along the walk way to make it easier to see the snails and a snail crossing sign. Remember a few days ago when I mentioned something's wrong with me, yeah well here's further evidence

3) Anyone have their SPG free night cert for the SPG biz or SPG personal cards show up yet if card anniversary was April? I got my march cert, but neither of us got April certs.

My AF for the SPG posted on the statement that closed April 26th. My free night vert was deposited on June 3rd.

If one crawls on me I’m gonna be so disgusted

If I even survived something like that without immediately dropping dead of a heart attack, I'd likely need therapy.

Planning for Glacier NP for next year in July Just looked and all the in park lodging is on the Chase portal. I think lodging goes very fast and not sure how much availability they will have on the portal. I'll have to decide if I'll go on the Xanterra site first or Chase. Just so happy to see that it might be an option.

I so agree! I did my snow time between Maine and Maryland, I'm done. I won't do the humidity of Houston, but Austin is just plain perfect. There's always bug spray for the bugs because I can't do those either and I've only encountered one snake in my 10 years here while I had 3 encounters in Maryland.

Oh, thanks for posting this. I wouldn't have thought to look there. Is it still just availability out for one year, like it is through Xanterra?
