We still need the cat. No signs of the loudly chewing mouse anywhere in the kitchen, which is good. So it's either doing it close to the floor or has a way under the cabinets that are sealed so they can't get in. Put a couple traps under the house.

Mice are lots of places and you've probably had them in your house even if it was just under it and never knew. My NC house the neighbors had outdoor cats so I never saw a mouse until we were changing out the wood landscape border around my flower beds and found a shrew mouse that ran away.
We have 2 inside cats. I’d like to think they would go after a mouse but we have one cat that’s really skittish and he probably we freak out

They do. Log in on desktop and at the top, click "New Messages" to open the Message Center. There's some wording, and a "Click here" to compose a new message.

For Barclays, the clock starts upon approval, and I believe they give you right at 90 days.
Thanks. I opened it on 12/15/18 so I have more time remaining than I thought. I’ll stop panicking now and won’t go on a spending spree.

Our 6 pound cat is very skittish but can catch anything. She caught a rabbit last year that was so big she was having to hold her head way up in the air to try to carry it around. She brought a live squirrel in the house last year when I had the storm door open during nice weather. She also likes to catch baby snakes in the spring and tie them in a knot. Never understood it, but every single one she ties in a knot and leaves on the porch dead.

Now our other cat, who is fearless, could have a mouse run right by her and she'd just look at us like "what do you want me to do about it?"

Ok I'm now paying attention.... PNC.... this is currently the easiest deal to set up an acct and use a cc for a 2k setup, right? I'm looking to do this for both myself and P2 in the next few weeks, anything I should be aware of? (need to MSR) if I'm not trying to snag a bonus persay while doing this, it appears that I only have to keep $300 in acct to avoid a fee.... is there a hard pull for a bank acct? also- how do we lower our cash advance limit? the card I want to use is $1800(!) and I don't want it to code as CA....thanks!

I'm using this as proof I'm not crazy (well at least on this issue). I booked flights the other week. In the afternoon I priced out 4 different destinations, we picked one a few hours later, went to book the flights and every one was massively higher! I've managed to rebook one leg already to lower than the original price l found, just waiting on the other drop back. One destination was 22k RT, looked later that night it was 39k, looked the night I rebooked and I found a slightly different option for 11k RT  And none of the flights were the "only 2 seats left" at this price either, they just all went up; and I tried mixing up the searches with incognito and different devices but got all the same results. This is the wildest swings I've seen from what I remember, especially in such a short time frame.
I've booked 6 flights within the past few weeks.... I've noticed that I now need to book my return flights ASAP as those tend to be 3x the price of the cost to wherever I'm going.....

Yes, PNC is the account everyone uses for cards. You can open and fund $2k toward a checking and $2k toward a saving each time you apply for an account. Note that if you want the savings, I'm pretty sure you have to open at the same time as the checking. There is no hard pull, but PNC is EWS sensitive, and their ID verification questions are typically really tricky, so it's a good idea to have a copy of your credit report handy - or at least your history page on Credit Karma.

Which card are you using? Sometimes you can SM to lower cash advance, but it depends on the issuer. For Chase you can SM, and usually $100 is the lowest you can go. For Barclays or Bank of America, you have to call, but they will go all the way down to $0.

Thank you!!! What is EWS? and we'll be using CIP - I have an employee card, I'm guessing that's ok(?) when you say tricky, do you mean they can deny you for an acct?

Anyone ever tried buying shell gift cards and putting them in the shell app to pay later? I'm considering maxing out the CF category this way but I want to be able to pay with the app at the pump with fuel rewards and stop and shop points.

On the mice thing, we have a pest person come quarterly. Never had a mouse in the house (that we saw evidence of anyway) but they ate my husband's new car, which was being driven daily and parked in our garage, a few years ago. They ate 10K worth of damage, luckily for us all covered by insurance. They must've been chomping on it for a while (in ceiling, engine, seats, etc, places we couldn't see) and we had no idea! Until DH saw some stuffing coming out where the seatbelts click in, in the back seat. Anyway, we live in a rural area with lots of field mice. I have a yellow lab that likes to catch them. And eat them. :crazy2:

Gifting/sharing your miles will cost you money. To gift 30k miles from Alaska to someone else's ff account it would cost you $325 and on American it would cost you $390. You can avoid that by booking their flights with your miles.

To give you an idea of how many miles it may cost to book an award flight I checked a random Friday in June from ANC-LAX in coach. Flights with connections can be found for 25k RT miles on Alaska and 30k miles RT on AA. Direct flights were 40k RT on Alaska and 60k RT on AA.

If paying with money a direct coach flight on Alaska RT was $585.70 in the main cabin for one person. Basic economy was a little less. The second passenger could fly on the companion pass. If you are the card owner you don't need to be on the flight but you would need to pay for the flight in order to schedule a traveler and companion fare passenger.

A direct RT flight on AA was $551 per person in economy.

Before you decide you may want to look at the options regarding flight to and from the specific airports you are considering.
Thanks for your response! Yes that is way too much money and not worth it to transfer points on AK Air or AA, would defeat the purpose of a sign up bonus and any earned miles. I have no problem booking the flights as it would be for my DD. I haven't explored using miles on any airline yet except SW. I'm going to go for the Alaska Air card or AA, can't decide but that is the RT ANC-LAX I'm looking for. The prices are pretty expensive, on occasion I'll see $220 or so in main cabin, just depends on the time of year and how far out in advance purchasing.

Not that I was going for this card but I did finally remember part of why I was going for a Visa before the SPG AmEx announced the discontinuance, the one company I found that doesn't take AmEx is one of my bigger expenses this time of year. So now I'm trying to decide if I go a VGC route or what. I'm not sure if they take split payments so I might have to figure out how to, gasp, manufacture spend to get that on to an AmEx.
I had considered the split payments too, but I do not think it would work. I hope it does in your case! It looks like I will just throw it on my CIP and go above and beyond that MSR.

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: to having them in your car for so long to do that much damage!! Though that reminds me of the funniest thread I think I have ever read on the DIS, I don't know why it makes me laugh so much. Most of you are probably too new to have read it, it is an old one. Search "run like the wind fat man" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It still makes me laugh.

Ebay buying question, if anyone knows. I'm watching something in an auction that ends in a few hours. Can I use an Ebay gift card towards this, since when you win an auction they send you notification to pay? Mainly just thinking if I would win it... would I be able to grab a gift card at Kroger tomorrow morning for 4x fuel points for it... The listing states payment is expected within 48 hours.
